Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit and welcome to June! (It’s also World Milk Day and National Go Barefoot Day, and happy 86th to Morgan Freeman!) What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: day 3 in Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue.
Reminder: 6/2 will be Powder Puff Friday...wear something powdery! This is a repeat from 2015.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Prada wool/cashmere rabbit sweater is from 2017, I think, and came in several colors for about $920 each. You can still find them used if you shop around online (there's a grey one on Poshmark at the moment).
I remembered my rabbits at 3:30am on trip to bathroom
such an early meeting geeez
post meeting post shower indulging in some SL Borneo, because if not now, when?
110 days to Africa.
Oh good for you! I did not remember.
Maybe that will make the 110 days go faster 🙂
it’s going pretty fast this year. Amazingly, the month of May has been completely gray and cool and I have not had to put the AC on once.
I have mini goals for everything.
The nutrisytem boxes are here and Sunday morning will be weigh in. 15-18 pounds to take off.
7 pay periods to go.
These short goals work best for me or I would never get out of bed.
And I got the Abraham Vergheses book The Covanant of Water for kindle for $2.17 with amazon credits to read on plane or at pool. Which is hard cause the elephants and giraffes come right up to drink and one can watch for hours.
Cutting for Stone was a book I loved and so I am looking forward to reading the new one that took over 10 years for him to write?
Oh, I loved Cutting for Stone too. I better look into The Covenant of Water.
Same, I think today was the first day the a/c came on for more than 15 minutes.
Good luck with the nutrisystem!
Borneo is such a fabulous one! I preferred it over Coromandel but I’ll be honest and say I have both these days.
We’ll help you count down those days. How exciting!
thank you! count down the days, count off the pounds!!
In 2007, Dior did a limited edition of Eau Sauvage that added leather to the mix. I tried it at a duty-free shop coming back from the UK that year, but didn’t buy it, and I have regretted that decision often. (I really believe we usually regret what we didn’t do more than what we did.) But Etat Libre d’Orange Je Suis Un Homme, which I am wearing today, is not a bad approximation: bright citrus top, spices and wood, and then all that leather.
Also, rabbit rabbit rabbit. I’d been up for a while before I remembered, but better late than never.
I agree that’s how regrets work….YET, I regret buying as many bottles as I did. So, who knows.
I agree with both of you-and if I chose to sell some bottles, or give them away, I’d probably regret that too lol.
Wish I had smelled that one. I love Eau Sauvage!
It’s heavily June-gloomy here today, and I’ll be bundling myself into a sweater and heading out into the woods (still partly on crutches, but it works!) to collect data for my thesis project. Field days call for unobtrusive fragrances, so I’m copying Robin and wearing Infusion d’Iris.
Good luck out in the woods on crutches Isabella! Hope it goes well.
As usual I totally forgot about the rabbits!
Day 4 of powdery iris-Bois d’Iris by VCA today.
I need a rabbit alarm clock 😉
and I bet you have the skills to find one.
🙂
Pretty sure I forgot the rabbits today too.
Twins with Robin today! I found a decant of Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue that I had no idea I had….it must have come from someone here, so thanks, it smells lovely.
Hey twin! We did smell lovely today.
I’m in the lovely Rebecca Minkoff EDP and enjoying a sunny morning. Temperature isn’t supposed to go over about 70, so spring seems to be here, finally! ☀️ 🌸
We got into the high 80s, it felt quite warm.
I’m in L’artisan Fleur de Liane, which I really love, especially in warm weather. There’s a marigold note that I find addictive, plus gardenia-and I don’t mind the aquatic note.
An oldie, I had nearly forgotten about that one!
Hello everyone!
Cute sweater! Should we start a knitting club? I’m three inches to the bottom of my current sweater, and it’s going fast! My project bag is getting heavy….
Y’all are great luck! I made an A on my test. Onto the final tomorrow.
I’m wearing a bit of a weirdo, Tenere by Paco Rabanne. It went on like Yatagan Lite but has a really lovely rose/LotV note in the heart. Failed dismally and now we have 1 Million. You can still find this one pretty inexpensively, compared to its contemporary Insense.
Have a great day everyone.
Good luck for tomorrow!
Yay for the A!
My sotd is Courregès Blanc. It’s powdery. I think it compliments my new dress that I am wearing. It’s a raspberry handkerchief dress. Flowy and comfortable for what will be a 90 degree day.
That dressed sounds cute!
It really is, and a great deal too!
That dress sounds adorable.
Thanks. The color suits me, I think.
Keep cool, your dress sounds pretty.
Thanks Aurora. It’s a little early here for this heat.
I love handkerchief dresses (and blouses) – you are very stylish!
Thanks! I’m actually the opposite of stylish, but sometimes I will accidentally find something cute that fits. Lol.
Gotta love it when you find something cute AND affordable that fits!
I’m getting your 90-degree heat tomorrow.
Your dress sounds perfect!
Portrait of a Lady for me today. I get a whiff of powder from this, but not much…still CP-compliant, I say! 🙂
Remembered my rabbits today. Here’s to a great June…only one month before vacation! School events are winding down too — feels like we’re near the end.
Love POAL. According to Fragrantica you are compliant plus it is a lovely fragrance.
Smelling lovely! I had a sample of POAL and quite liked it.
I saw your comment on the kitchen plans at 4x the cost! Shame on them. Plus if I’m not mistaken, didn’t the job take forever? After all that, I hope it turned out to be everything you wanted.
I’m joining the Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue bunch. I bought a decant (in a roller ball!) a long time ago, maybe 10 years? There’s enough for one more wearing. I bought a bottle as a backup so I have more.
Running errands today and ticking things off my “to do” list.
Yay, we’re now officially a club 🙂
Good afternoon!
SOTD is No 5 Eau Premiere, which is a powder bomb to me. Love it! I still have one 20ml refill up for grabs from the splitmeet if anyone needs one 🙂
Smelling good 😊
For the first day of June and meteorological summer I’m wearing Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana. (When worn with Wood Sage & Sea Salt it reminds me of a cottage garden by the sea, like in Nantucket.)
That sounds like a nice combination.
Definitely feeling like summer in these parts.
Good morning! It was an incredible 20C here yesterday and so I walked to the hospital, through the botanic gardens. The smell from the roses lifted my spirits. The air was filled with their scent, and somehow they seemed almost creamy, like rose ice creams. There are no many other flowers competing for attention but the fallen leaves from the oaks are still lovely. It’s a long weekend, the King’s birthday , and I’m going away, stargazing. Wearing Agent Provocateur, which I saw in the chemist yesterday for a bargain after my x-ray.
Your walk sounds wonderful, enjoy the good weather, spring is very fresh here this year.
That’s extraordinary for June!
I sent you an email a couple of days ago saying that I’m coming down your way for the weekend after King’s Birthday, I hope we can catch up. I know you don’t check email often, so it’s great to have NST as another channel 🙂 .
Thanks Gaynor! I will email you.
AP smells perfect for autumn.
Agent Provocateur is great stuff!
Hello hello! I’m wearing L’artisan Iris de Gris today. It’s more green than powdery, but I’m considering myself CP compliant.
I bet you smell great.
Continuing my exploration of samples from the last two NST ‘meets, Swap and Split: SotD Purple Mantra by Room 1015. Love it. I will very much enjoy everyone’s powdery choices for tomorrow. I think I have mine selected. I do love powdery notes and should probably get some scented bath powder, Youth Dew or maybe Shalimar. This CP reminded me that I should use powder again.
Do you get vintage bath powders sometimes? I always fear the scent doesn’t last in powder but here in the UK vintage powders are very affordable usually.
SOTD = Francesca Bianchi Sticky Lips
Powdery for sure so CP points!
🐇 🐇🐇 The thing is, unlike previous months, I need a donation of rabbits as I did not do it despite reminding myself all day yesterday to do it. I suppose intentions count – maybe?
Remember the 60 (in-office) / 40 (WFH)? It is still very much in and the screws are turning tightly fast for those who are at 20% or under. The problem is there was an automated email for the ones out of compliance (I.e. did not get to 50% in the past two weeks) that went out today and since noon today, there had been 9 inquiries from a small subset supporting the clients because THERE ARE ISSUES. Seriously, it’s embarrassing when the firm is turning the screw and we can’t even get the reports right! The automated email notified the “out of compliance” employee with dire consequences.
That is awful. Are you ok, I assume, in compliance?
When is your next trip going to be?
I’m always eager to travel vicariously via friends, since there’s not a lot going on now in my life. Facebook friends are posting gorgeous pictures of the Alps, Venice, Lake Como, and more… making me envious.
I’m ok with no issues whatsoever. I average between mid-40s to high 50s over a 12-week period. I do not make up for the days that are non-working days that happen to also be one of the days I am scheduled to work.
You do seem to travel quite a bit with purposes other than retired leisure. I am not yet comfortable taking planes.
I have 3 sets of rabbits because I kept waking up. Here’s a set for you 🐇🐇🐇😊
Woohoo! Thanks lillyjo although sorry that kept waking up!
Am I correct in assuming that those emails are somewhat tone deaf?
They are indeed tone deaf. When the head of the support group chimed in and asked why the team (and others) need to get a list of those who were inadvertently tagged as out of compliance (and therefore there’s something wrong with the report), I know something is really wrong.
Friday again! I’m wearing 24 Faubourg just because I love it.
You smell wonderful!
Hi y’all! I’m in the musky powderiness of PMC Musk Extreme. I had fun with my sisters yesterday! We had a great chat and then went to a burger joint for lunch. Thanks for wishing me well yesterday; it was a blast. ❤️ 👯♀️
Glad you had a good time.
Yay for the shenanigan sisters!
Whoo hoo for a great get together!
Cute rabbits on that sweater.
Smoothie is clementines and yogurt after unhealthy coffee yesterday.
I picked Habanita, very much a powder fest but not in the least babyish, naughty powder rather, I wore modern and vintage, both good and tonight I’m in Liz Earle Essence No 9, a fruity Chypre I seem to like as half the bottle is gone, it really does smell natural.
Naughty powder is such a funny concept! But I know what you mean about Habanita. 😉
😀
Lol at naughty powder!🤣
😀 I wasn’t quite sure how to insist on the difference, glad to make you laugh.
Did the coffee keep you awake last night?
It did but I knew it would tbh, I just chose to have it in spite of it, back to smoothies from now on.
It’s so hot here now, already, that I’m just tending toward fresh or citrusy scents to cope. Today’s choice is Acqua di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria. Check it out on Fragrantica to see the gorgeous pottery bottle it comes in (I confess, partly why I bought it!). I felt like I was detecting cinnamon in it this morning… It’s not there but there’s a nice combination of geranium and fennel that adds some complexity to the juicy citrus formula.
I’m being totally lazy today. I had three conferences in a row, only one of which I attended in person, but it was kind of intense. But I so much enjoyed the stimulation. My life in retirement has become a bit boring. It’s really fun to be back in conversation with some people.
You smell great I love the Blu Mediterraneo line, your bottle is fabulous.
You smell divine!
I have no idea if I “rabbited” today or not. I’ve been awake since 4am (mostly). Someone was tearing out the carpet and putting in the hardwood floor for the master bedroom today, so I think the early wake up was a bit of anxiety/anticipation. The installer was here by 7:30 this morning and he finished about 15 minutes ago.
I did have a couple of brief naps but am looking forward to a decent night’s rest.
SOTD = totally commando. Not even lotion.
🤞for decent sleep tonight. Are there more contractors coming tomorrow?
Nope! So that means tomorrow is “put the bedroom back together” day.
Oy vey. 7:30 is a bit early for contractors to come in but better to get it done in 1 day than to split it up!
Yes to both sentiments!
Glad that your floors got done today! I bet they look fantastic!
Thankfully it was only 1 room. But yes, it looks beautiful.
We do have more carpet replacement in the future, but are holding off on that for now. The stairs leading up to the 2nd story need new carpet. The cats have been pretty rough on the current stuff.
So glad it looks beautiful!!
Rabbit rabbit! SOTD fits the CP: Guerlain’s Chant d’Aromes. It smells very powdery on my skin.
That one is rather elegant.
Another gorgeous day here. Which I slept through. Sipping scalding coffee with fond remembrances of hazelnut creamer.
Tacking on to hajusuuri’s comment about turning the screws, I was on break with the CN last who is just an all around super nice person. She is staff, not a traveler and has been here a good while. This hospital system has now stopped giving employees a discount in the cafeteria and significantly upped all their prices. The cafeteria is closed for night shift so you have to bring something or go without. If you come into the cafeteria before 630pm, you’re supposed to be able to buy a meal before your shift, and even though she was there on time, the kitchen person told her she’s too late and she wasn’t going to make her anything. And I guess said it in a very snotty way. What’s the big deal, right? Well, I see this every hospital I’ve been to during and after the pandemic. There is a slow (and sometimes not so slow!) erosion of good will and kindness, chip by chip. They (meaning management, who are the ones making these stupid decisions) are continuously chipping away at employees morale, a tiny chip here, a tiny chip there. Add it all adds up- people are, by turns, angry, hurt, exasperated, and disgusted. People constantly getting written up for not crossing a T or dotting an I. She (the CN) actually got teary because she has kids, money is tight, and she just wants a decent meal for a decent price before coming to work. No bueno. I’m upset for her because she a caring soul and an excellent nurse and I see her, and many others, slowly having their lights extinguished.
It makes me sad so I’m wearing Shalimar MVP to boost MY morale and mood, and of course to be CP compliant.
People, don’t let them douse you light!! 🕯️
I co-sign to your comment. “Management” had never explained where they picked up that being in the office is good for teamwork, morale, etc. (to infinity) and had put in place processes that work only with more exceptions than the rule.
Smelling great in your MVP, Deva!
That’s so upsetting about the hospital meal issue. Something so simple that is possibly someone’s bright spot in the day becomes a boiling point. Like you say, chip chip chip.
SOTD was Divine “L’Homme Sage” – because I forgot the CP! It should have been 4160 Tuesdays “Urura’s Tokyo Café”. I did *not* forget the rabbits, for once.
I melted my brain todatyuÿreading about SAP Activate workstreams with their specialist roles, tools & accelerators. And restored some normality with a stimulating evening visit to the flamenco museum for their Thursday concert – great stuff! 🙂
Irises are blooming in my garden so I sampled DSH Iris Tuxedo which seemed like plum liqueur with an underlying makeup powderiness
