My take on the CP is “perfumes I had to fly to buy” (or at least to get samples of). I’m kicking it off today with Aedes Pelargonium, which I got a sample of on my trip to NYC just this weekend. (I didn’t have enough duty-free allowance to buy a full Aedes bottle, nor did I want to check a bag — but I did get a small bottle of one of the Nomenclature scents.)
I had this on paper in my pocket yesterday, and kept realizing that I smelled wonderful! Really liking it on skin today, too. This one may have to go on the FB list.

I’m continuing with my theme of “Perfumes that traveled to get to me, via NST”. Rocking Le Cri by Parfum d’Empire today (thanks Nancyleandros for my sample!!). It gets recommended a lot for iris and aldehydes, but on my skin it is all rose and aromatics. It’s a very green rose so I am fine with it — I can’t do big juicy roses. It’s one of those perfumes that I can’t decide if I like or not… A few more wearings are needed for sure.
I wore Amouage Dia yesterday night… that on the other hand was generous on the aldehydes. It’s a more airy and easier to wear version of No. 5 IMO. Kris, if you see this, wondering if you have tried this one too?

Like many here, I absolutely adore Azemour and wear the heck out of it in the summer. I also love Corsica Furiosa, and while I’m not generally a big amber fan, their Ambre Russe is my favorite amber — it has a cozy, ginger-biscuits note to it that softens it a bit and makes it less of a “standard” amber. Tabac Tabou on the (infrequent) days that I want to smell like I’ve fallen into a vat of narcissus that a horse has been rolling around in, and I have a sample of Wazamba around here somewhere that I remember liking but need to revisit.

I have tried Le Cri and didn’t care for it that much. It was ok, but there was something in it that didn’t sit right with me. As far as Dia, I have not tried that.
I enjoyed Dia immediately, a full bottle might be on the horizon and I’d be happy to make you a sample if that happens!
That would be wonderful. It sounds really nice from what I just read about it. Let me know if you decide to purchase it.
On another note, a lot of NSTers like several of the scents from Parfum d’Empire. Many, including Robin, really like the citrus scent of Azemour les Oranges. You will also hear several speak of the amber scent of Wazamba. Personally, I do not care for the line, but there is a lot of love here. I have tried about four of them and did not feel a need to purchase any of them.
We didn’t go to the zoo yesterday because mom didn’t really want to deal with the crowds. So I wore Rose de Kandahar instead. Today I will be in no 5 after my shower. I am enjoying vacation so far. Days I can do what I want on my time table and not around my work schedule.

I’m in Cuir Cannage this morning, which goes extremely well with my morning coffee, and feeling quite productive as I run the coffee maker through its descaling process. Yucky/smelly, but it does help the machine run more smoothly. Love the teapot today!

My variation on the CP is “Time Flies” and today I’m wearing Antonia’s Flowers.
This was one of my early perfume loves and I’m grateful to have a couple of small bottles (a bit worse for the wear but surprisingly good).

I’m in Carthusia’s A’Mmare today, and I have to confess that I ordered a decant when it came out simply because the bottle looked so fun! I would happily fly to whatever location inspired this scent.

Inspired by talk of new phones here by I can’t remember who, I picked up a new phone yesterday. I’ve been flip-flopping on the issue for several months because I have an old 11. That wasn’t really the problem, it was more an issue of short battery life and full memory. So now I have a new phone with all the fun that entails of setting up all my biometrics again. 😬
But I did come across a great deal. If you are a “first responder” there is a completely new system you can get which (supposedly) gives you priority connectivity. Plus I got a new Apple Watch for free (the SE model)! Just had to pay tax. Anyway, you may qualify for this if you are police, healthcare, or in some other public service sector. I think the new plan is called First Service or something like that. New phone, new watch, my monthly bill decreased- I’ll take ALL of that, thank you! This is with AT&T btw.
As for perfume, I’m sporting the original Bottega Veneta and enjoying it very much. Happy Tuesday! 😊

Good battery life is an essential feature for me. Unfortunately I the battery life on my 1,5 year old phone is already decreasing. 😒
But its still acceptable, and i havent encountered a scenario yet where I ended up with an empty battery.

Two things.
I have covid. I was supposed to go to a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, but made sure to do the rapid test. I took a picture of the test much later and it changed. The doctor told me they will charge me as a no show and they are not covered under my insurance. Just wear a mask, they say. I’ve got to get another test, but it makes no sense. I am having trouble breathing and I have to go out. Do they really want me to infect everyone? I’m not vaxxed due to my medical condition. I’m bewildered.
I really wanted to tell y’all about the aggressive man about 5 steps across the street. Its pouring ladies and gentlemen.
Sorry to hear about your positive Covid test! I hope it ends up being mild for you. But it sure is frustrating that there aren’t anymore protocols for Covid these days. My son’s school said he could return after 5 days as long as he doesn’t have a fever and is feeling better….. no rules at all about masking!
I’m pretty upset. I spent the day going to pharmacies with no tests available. I sanitized, showered (again) and even drive thrus have to touch my card. My nose is bloody, so the test I finally got today was invalid. You know this. My mother-in-law has it severely and I spent the entire day with her.
Does the nurse who will see me know what will happen to her? Its a mask optional office.

Before covid arrived in this world I hardly was sick. Maybe once in 3 years. A flu. Or one time a very nasty cold. That was it.
Then covid came and I got it twice within a period of 13 months 🙁 (while vaccinated + two boosters).
Fortunately symptoms were mild but still… I was stuck in bed/on coach for 2 to 3 days and was quite tired the week after.
Wow. There must be somebody you can report that doctor to, that’s outrageous.

Thanks, Robin. I was blown away, too. I texted and left a message over the weekend saying I was cancelling due to exposure and I felt it. I gave the notice they require for safety and feeling the way I am.
I can’t believe I sent a picture of the test and they still want me to come in.
I’m very winded and tired. Really sore and my throat is, too. Showering was more effort than I remembered. I’ll take out the inhaler, for the breathing. One bonus of having asthma.

I’m thinking of smoke for the CP today. Most mornings now the air smells of wood smoke from our neighbours’ chimneys but there is still a bit of coke ( coal) as well, a smell that seems to go hand in hand with damp newspapers in my memories. We used to have a wood fired Rayburn cooker / wetback in our kitchen that worked brilliantly cooking and heating water but also used to fill the kitchen with smoke from time to time. Wearing Smoked Ambergris as I consider another day with no hot water…

Slow, foggy morning here, although it’s just clearing and the mockingbirds are in full voice. I’m wearing L’Ombre Dans l’Eau today, and this morning before school Little Biscuit followed me around the house saying, “You smell so good! SO good!!” Probably the only perfume compliment I’ll get today since the rest of the day will involve contract management while lying on the couch and simultanously doing little PT exercises, but I’ll take it! 🙂

It was La Petite Robe Noire Couture, possibly one of my favorite gourmands but tonight I chose YSL Paris Fleur de Parfum – a sort of glorified EDP – and I find it again much more violetty than the regular Paris, not a bad thing in my book.
That would not be a bad thing in my book either. They really did quite a few decent flankers for Paris.
Oh yes Robin, you’re right, there were the Premieres Roses flankers issued several years in a row IIRC, and I have Roses Enchantées, different but also good.
I’ve failed to come up with any clever twists on the CP, so it will be Vol de Nuit for Friday. Today is PG’s Indochine.

Hey everyone! It’s my lovely day off today, and it is hot today, should get up to 83 degrees! In May! I’m in Breath of God today. Herbally, smoky, a little mentholly imo. It’s a strange one, but it sits very close to the skin.
In thinking about the CP, I copied someone else in going for air-related terms: breath, breeze, wind (in French it’s “vent,” so Vent Vert!) (and “souffle” also works for breath or breeze, but I don’t have Shalimar Souffle unfortunately), mistral, oxygen, clouds, sky… what else could there be? I think I will wear l’Air du Temps on Friday if I can find it, but I’ll see what else I can come up with. Anyone have Wind Song? 😉

Yesterday we finally picked up flooring; the contractor was here earlier to discuss things. We removed the underlay today. Plus had to pull out all the staples so it’s a smooth surface for the new subfloor to go down.
If it’s any consolation, I’m sitting on a patio chair inside.
We’ve had the hardwood flooring picked out, delivered, and waiting to be installed for ages. Just never got around to ripping out the old carpet.
The sun came out, and the bouquet of peonies a neighbor brought by the other night started to smell amazing today. Peony perfumes just don’t capture it at all.
Wearing Ashoka again. I find it airy, but doubt that it counts for cp points. Heading out to yank out weeds.

SotD Escada Tender Light. I am associating it with the hope I am feeling for my tuberose bulbs, which are shooting up and which, finally since we have warmer nights, I have put outside to take their chances. I suspect blooms are weeks and weeks away, but I’ve got the bulbs going, right? Full story: I was searching for Fendi Furiosa in honor of World Turtle Day – check out the bottle. But it was too far back on the shelf, and under something else (this is a high shelf) but there was lovely Escada.
The original Escada perfumes were so good.
Oh yay, so glad they are doing well!! Mine bloomed sooner than I expected last year, but it was a hot summer and that might have helped.
Had to do a presentation for the Alzheimer’s Association today so decided I better wear an easy scent today that would not be offensive. Chanel No 5 L’Eau it was😊

It was another crazy day at work.
Something funny though.. I walked past a customer and was certain that she was wearing Casmir. After walking by her a second time I asked her what she was wearing as she smelled so good. Her answer was Niki Minaj body spray! Lol. I didn’t want to press her on which one.
My sotd was TF Orchid Soliel. It’s long gone now though.
