It's Tuesday. A very happy birthday to Our Lady Donatella Versace. (Update: RIP Gordon Lightfoot.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm commando, and otherwise I was going to be stumped today for the community project, which I'd hoped to do in order (I do not own Demeter Parsley or Jo Malone Wild Strawberry & Parsley, and couldn't think of any others). I also wanted to again thank everyone who has left kind comments of condolence or written emails, it is so very appreciated even if I am not ready to respond to anyone yet.
Reminder: on 5/5, we're doing Scarborough Fair Friday. Wear a fragrance with parsley, sage, rosemary or thyme.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Ikea Gokvalla teapot ("Pour your hot beverage in style and make the moment together feel extra festive. This decorative teapot with light-blue decor is part of the GOKVÄLLÅ collection that also has matching kava cups") is currently listed as "last chance to buy", $27.99.
Today I am wearing Yellowstone, which is a cheapie but enjoyable fragrance that I picked up while shopping with my tween daughter at Buckle. Summery fresh floral. Have a great day everyone! 🙂
Kanuka-Thank you for the link yesterday for that exhibit. I love that museum.
SOTD L’Heure Brillante by Cartier
Tea is vanilla tea a friend brought back from Mauritius
Flipping through the journal and listening to NPR.
I had a successful trip to the nursery yesterday and bought many many plants for my balcony. The guys there are so helpful.
You’re welcome. I was fascinated by the images of Central Park and reading about the removal of all the people and houses, mostly Black. I knew nothing of its history. Good luck with your flowers, such a great idea. I hope everything grows.
Wearing Zoologist Cow for the CP (sage). Perfect spring floral on a still cold rainy day.
I am headed to my daughter’s house for the second week in a row. She isn’t doing well and her husband is going out of town on business, so I’ll be there to help with the dogs. They have 3, 2 big and 1 teensy, and they are a lot of work! Makes me appreciate Larry the cat. Anyway, I’m just taking a little Coco because it’s her favorite perfume on me, so today is my Friday with you all. Have a good week, everyone.
I’m sorry to hear your daughter isn’t doing well. I hope you have a really great visit.
I wish my kids had a favorite perfume to smell on me.
My kids have several!
I hope your daughter feels better soon!
Hope your daughter feels better. Good luck with the dogs
Thanks for the good wishes you guys.
You will be smelling great, I hope she is doing better soon!
Sending best wishes to your daughter that she gets better soon. I know I have been battling allergies or a sinus infection for 5 weeks. Very frustrating as I am never sick. I think everyone has probably gotten diminished immune systems after the whole Covid situation. A lot of people seem to be dealing with health issues recently.
I’m sure you will be great comfort to your daughter, cow is unique, I liked it when I tried it.
I hope you and your daughter have a happy , peaceful time and things get better soon.
Good luck to you, and hope that your daughter feels better soon.
Wearing Cartier Baiser Vole. Sample thunked!
On my third cup of coffee and a blueberrry muffin. I hope the caffeine kicks in soon because I am dragging and I have a very busy day at work.
Happy Tuesday! ☕️☕️☕️
Happy Tuesday!
Eat the whole muffin!🌷
Ha! This “thick, big” muffin will be fully eaten! 😀
Lid first! 😋
Cartier house twins
We smell great in Cartier!
I am sure you smell wonderful. For some reason that scent did not work for me. Maybe I am just not a big fan of lily.
Thank you, Kris! I think it is a no-brainer, office friendly scent. Just nice and pleasant.
Baiser Vole has/had a gorgeous bottle. It did not work for me, though. Not sure why.
The bottle is great! The scent is very comforting. If a full bottle falls on my lap, I would definitely wear it, but I would not spend money on it.
Maybe you are like me Jalapeno and lily doesn’t agree with you.
Possibly.
I can wear L’Artisan’s Passage d’Enfer, and it has lily in it. But not as a primary note.
Sad to hear about Gordon Lightfoot, a Canadian icon. “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” is a genuinely great song and I won’t hear different. It still sends chills down my spine.
Today I’m in 2001’s Michael for Men, an underappreciated masterpiece — tobacco, suede, dried fruit, and an overdose of the sexiest patchouli imaginable. I loved it the instant I smelled it.
As a Michigander, I say The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald is a masterpiece.
I agree. I still know all the words❤️
Me, too. 😉
I agree! We went to the shipwreck museum in Marquette a few years ago, they have all the details of the Edmund Fitzgerald and about the song, too. It was really interesting.
As someone who has family in Superior, Wisconsin, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald resonates with me, and I remember listening to it time after time. The actual story of the Edmund Fitzgerald is also very interesting to me, and every time I see something about it I stop and watch or read the story.
Hello lovely scented people! Chilly here on the Coastal Plain of Virginia! Have not checked in for sometime. Have been enjoying my horde of bottles and have been adding a few oldies, finally purchased a small bottle of Santa Maria Novella Patchouli, blind, and it may very well be the one Patch to Rule Them All. Also attracts rescue greyhounds, the two in my life really love it! I also purchased Dior Eau Noire, small bottle, from the Dior website and it is as weird and wonderful as I remember. I have been loving some skincare products from a small company out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, called drylandwilds, perhaps the only sustainable perfume makers in the world, they harvest invasive plants and native plants and are currently doing enfleurage with locust blossoms. The company’s Instagram is a wonder and the complete transparency of their process is quite refreshing. I am not affiliated in any manner except as a happy customer.
Isn’t it great when the doggos share your perfume loves?! A blind buy that really works is like a gift from the universe. 🎁
Good to see you!
Enjoy your goodies!
Hello there! How funny that the greyhounds like SMN Patchouli!
Glad you mentioned, got and love SMN Patchouli! My curser has hovered over the buy button on that one several times. I’m putting it in the sample cart for an upcoming LuckyScent order. Right now, I am loving Patchouli Nobile from the Swapmeet – it’s a powerhouse too.
Today I’m in Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, still my favorite of the Jardin line. I am looking forward to trying the new one, Un Jardin à Cythère.
Hello NST fam,
Today I am sampling Teint de Neige (thanks CM8!), I’ve been in the mood for aldehydes and musk today. The opening has a slight harshness from the musk, but once it dries down it’s an easy cozy wear.
I discovered that Mizensir has a store in SoHo NYC. Musc Eternel was my favorite sniff from the batch (same style as Teint de Neige) but it is too $ for me to justify a purchase. It reminded me of a less challenging Musc des Sables from Les Indemodables. I also smelled the ouds. I only remember the name of one, Perfect Oud, which smells nothing like oud at all. I said this out loud to the sales assistant (which was lovely) and she said that it’s the perfumers idea of a perfect oud, which apparently smells like leather.
They are also in Bergdorfs so you can buy when they have the beauty event and save money that way
Ooh, thanks for the tip!
Or buy it at BG AND split.
Will have to keep it in mind for the next splitmeet!
Had a feeling you might like it! The dry down is sublime.
I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on LT Piver Heliotrope Blanc when you get around to trying it. I like that one in the evening for comfort and it’s cheap as chips. I bought the 14.25oz bottle 🤣
14.25 ounces?!? OMG, how big is that bottle?
Gigantic!! The same size as the A La Rein des Fleurs I bought with it 🤣🤣🤣
Like milk carton big? 😲
They are both big!! Tall like a milk carton!
I can actually wear the A La Rein des Fleurs because there’s rosemary and thyme listed as notes. I bought the big bottles because they were only $5 more than the 3.3 oz and I really like them both.
Thank you for introducing it to me, friend! I did sample Heliotrope Blanc briefly but haven’t worn it proper, I remember getting mostly ylang/jasmine, and it only lasted briefly on me. I was thinking it could be a good bedtime/post shower scent!
Also it tickles me that it comes in such a massive bottle! I do love giant bottles of perfume 😛
Interesting!! I get the almond and heliotrope. I love it at night and it lasts forever on me into the next morning.
I’m sampling Hermès Epice Marine thanks to a generous nster. Definitely what I would call an ozonic, and I’m getting some abroxan, which is strange for a JCE creation. Glad to try, but it’s a pass.
The sun is back today!🌞
I got a new mattress about 4 years ago which I love. Like Goldilocks, it felt just right…until it didn’t. For about the past 6ish months when I get up my hips just ache. Ugh, is this what it means to get older? I am not a fan.😡 Anyway, I’m not ready (financially) to replace it so I’m thinking a mattress topper may do the trick. I see temper pedic actually makes one. Any recs greatly appreciated!
A mattress topper does indeed do the trick. Got my last one at Costco, but next time will just get on Amazon so it doesn’t have to be lugged home. The Lucid 4″ has lots of positive reviews. Spring/summer is a good time to purchase, since it’s best to leave outside for a day or so to air out prior to putting on one’s bed.
I cannot recommend a specific brand but we have a foam topper on our own bed and on the bed in the guest room and they really have helped, especially with pain from pressure on the hips. The guest one is divine — it is, I believe, a slightly more dense foam than the one in our room. Both were unknown brands and I think from Overstock. Only caveat is that if you sleep hot, the foam toppers can make you hotter. I bought a “cooling” mattress pad late last year to be used over our foam mattress topper and it truly has improved my sleep. I still sleep hot but rarely wake up boiling in a pool of my own sweat (which used to happen frequently).
I’m in Paris-Deauville, which might or might not have one or more of the CP herbs … but smells like it ought to. CobraRose, if you’re here today and didn’t see it, I just left a fairly detailed answer to your question on yesterday’s daily post.
Sheri-
I was considering that for Friday. I looked up the notes and it doesn’t have any of them, but does have basil so I thought that might be close enough. It is in the herb family anyway. Maybe we could get a 1/2 point. LOL.
Hey, a half point is something anyway! 😉
I was going to say that sage has never worked for me, but then I investigated via fragrantica and found (to my immense surprise) that I have a lot of choices with a sage note. Dior Homme, Bel Ami, Kashân Rose, and of course Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Even Naomi Goodsir’s Or du Serail allegedly has a sage note. Now I have to go look at thyme!
Following a couple of mentions over the past couple of days, I’m wearing Zoologist Cow today. Of the perfumes I’ve tried in that line, I think this one is my favourite, or at least holds my interest the longest.
And it has sage in it, so points for you!
Love reading what other people are wearing. It’s the most vile sort of spring weather here-1 or 2 degrees, so barely above freezing, and horrible rain whipping around. My hair is insane and when I went out I got cold water in my left ear-first world problems, I know!
Wearing Fille en Aiguilles, which is pretty prefect for this weather. I’m intrigued by the Dior Eden ROc makeup, which made me think of my Dior fragrances, so I also spritzed a cotton ball with Miss Dior Original EDT, so I could smell it and contemplate its beauty on my way to work. Today it smelled animalic and beautiful. Can you imagine wearing a spritz of this on your ankles, wearing a New Look dress? And if you’re interested in the history of DIor check out Justine Picardie’s book Miss DIor, about Catherine Dior, a war time hero. It’s not an easy read because she was tortured, but it’s an amazing biography.
Hope everyone’s day is good 🙂
Did you see the movie Mrs Harris Goes to Paris? I didn’t but was tempted by the 1950s Dior dress copy.
https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards/story/2023-02-22/mrs-harris-goes-to-paris-costume-designer-jenny-beavan
Kanuka, I did see it! Totally my sort of film-the dresses were beautiful, and I loved the story. Bit of a chick flic-nothing wrong with that, and the dresses were beyond beautiful.
Sotd is I Love les Carottes, Olivia Giacobetti’s rooty chef d’oeuvre. Thank you, Robin for introducing me to the wonders of rootyness is fragrance.
You smell wonderful!
You do smell wonderful!
Greetings my root loving friends!
We’re rootiness twins! My Parle Moi de Parfum Orris Tattoo is plenty rooty!
Gorgeous!
Happy Teapot Tuesday!
SOTD!
All this talk about Angel’s Share recently….aaand thunked my travel spray.
Busy week at work.Tomorrow I’ll be assisting with 25 patients on out theatre list.Prayers are in order!
🌹✌🏻🤗🤗
How many OR’s do you have there? Sounds like you will need your running shoes! 🏃🏼
Only two.Next door will have 14 patients on their list! It’s gonna be a wild day!Haha!
Hope everything will be fine tomorrow.
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤗
Oy Vey! Fingers crossed that you make it thru tomorrow in one piece!
Scents of Wood Praline in Maple🍁
Spring be damned. 😁 In my mind it’s still Fall, y’all.
“Praline in Maple” sounds like a very fancy and extremely tasty version of maple syrup. 😋
I love this one and layer it over B&BW Maple pecan lotion. 🙂
Dear Robin, it’s very nice to see you here again.
I am wearing the raucously joyful Rose Jam body spray in an effort to tell this rain that it’s May in the Bay Area and it was supposed to be all done in early March.
Sounds more like April flowers bring may showers in these here parts!
I did a lot of chores yesterday which makes me feel productive. Can’t find a car/truck wash that I can fit in, so still needing a good wash behind the ears. Currently packing up the few odds and ends I have loose for the drive back into town. I found a Thymes candle in Heritage Pumpkin and it’s currently wafting wonderfully! Maybe CP Adjacent points for the company name..? It’s cool, cloudy and breezy here so even if pumpkin season is over, it’s still working well for me. 🎃
SOTD is ELDO Fils de Dieu. It’s just like an old friend- warm, comfortable, you can eat too much, unbutton your pants and Fils de Dieu understands. And never judges!🙃
I am in ELdO today too. Just a different one.
I love your post! I’m seeing a possible cp there: pick a perfume and create a story or scenario with the perfume as the main character.
Ready, set, go!
I like this.👍🏻👍🏻
I like that idea too! 👍🏻👍🏻
LOL’ed at “you can eat too much, unbutton your pants”!
Yesterday, it was very windy most of the day; then, it was very, very windy for a couple hours with strong gusts. During that time the mail arrived, and four out of five of my Swapmeet packages were in it!! The mail carrier had to put them on the porch and one of the small boxes even started blowing away. I was gathering up all the treasures and my hair was flying in my face and I was literally in a happy whirlwind of perfumed treasures. Wearing one of them today, The Famous Santal 33! The leather and violet are just the type I love. I’m reminded of Ombre Leather 2018 and Atelier Oud Saphir. Like Angel, LVEB, and several others, I’ve read S33 is known to be smelled everywhere, but that’s not true in these-here parts.
I’ve never smelled here either.
I have still never smelled it and wouldn’t recognise it. It’s all Black Opium down here ( and La Vie east Belle)
I recently got a partial bottle of Black Opium Intense (the blue one) at Plato’s Closet. One quick spray made me think it’s going to be one of those modern perfumes that I just don’t smell much, at least when I am wearing it! But I will try to give it a fair trial.
The only time I have ever smelled Santal 33 is when I actively went sniffing for it at the King of Prussia Mall.
I seem to come across Angel where I live every so often.
I smell Santal 33 and its offshoots so often in the trendy neighborhoods in NYC! It is certainly pleasant and projects much.
What you say, that is what I’ve read (but don’t remember exactly when or where) on some blogs and reviews by perfumistas on both coasts. It is very “modern” smelling – ambroxen? – and so not what I gravitate towards, but I could see it turning into a love. It’s one I’d reach for on a busy day.
I’m in Eau Dynamisante for cp points. Fragrantica says it has thyme and rosemary in it. I definitely get the rosemary; the thyme is more subtle. Thanks to a generous NSTer for the freebie! ☺️
It’s about time to switch out the contents of the Scented Cupboard. We should hit the 90’s on Friday (wait, “should”? Do we have too?!?), so I can’t put it off much longer. That’s okay, it’s always nice to get reacquainted with old friends. 🤗
Good choice!
Isn’t it a little early for your area to have temps in the 90’s?
Not really. Starting in April, it’s not that uncommon to see days in the 90’s. I can remember mowing the yard in December. 😳
Whoooof.
SOTD is BBW Butterfly Body Cream and ELdO She Was An Anomaly. I think Butterfly would be great for a newbie that is exploring if they may like iris. It is a very pleasant scent to my nose.
COTD=Candle of the day is Sunday Morning by Brooklyn Candles. It is part of their minimalist collection. The top notes are pear and bergamot, middle notes are jasmine and gardenia and base note is amber woods. It reminds me a lot of Jo Malone’s English Pear and Freesia Cologne. It is just beautiful. I only wish it came in a larger size.
In recent snifftests with friends, SWAA has been hands down the most popular. Folks who think my perfume obsession is very odd, all gravitated to SWAA. Who knew? It is a wonderful perfume with a wider range potential if it ever got to department store counters, I guess.
It’s so comforting – it strikes the perfect balance between a non-sweet iris, vanilla and musk. It’s a sleep scent for me.
Sounds like perfection to me.
Ooh my sister wears English Pear & Freesia… maybe I should pick up Sunday Morning for her!
The only one with one of the four herbs I have for the community project is sage in Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt and I’m surprised I don’t have anything else.
I am still going through my many, many Maison Francis Kurkdjian samples. I am looking forward to what Kurkdjian will create for Dior, since he’s now the perfume creator for the house. I hope he does something original and not a repeat of something he’s already done before.
Oh, interesting! Fingers crossed for sure.
I heard that a new Dior Privee is coming out soon, Dior Riviera or something like that. Also curious to see what MFK does with it!
I was sad to hear that Gordon Lightfoot died. He was one of the singer/songwriters I have most enjoyed listening to, ever since I discovered his music in the 1970’s. His songs have never left my playlists, even before there were such things as playlists. I got to see him live in concert once, too.
Donatella was at the Met Gala and tried very hard, but her dress looked ill-fitting and too much Retin-A made her so very shiny. I did like Jared Leto’s Choupette.
I’m wearing Delina Exclusif this morning. I much prefer the regular Delina.
I had to look up the her dress. I am surprised how ill-fitting it is.
Have to agree with you on that one. It did appear to be ill-fitting.
Anne Hathaway looked SPECTACULAR in that dress! My other favorites were Doja Cat and loved Badbunny in the open-back Jacquemus suit!
Doja Cat’s dress was gorgeous, but her prosthetics creeped me out a bit. 🙀
I had to look that one up…yikes! 🐱
I think I’m in Babycat. Narrowed down my mystery scents to two–so I believe what I am wearing (purely based on the published notes and nothing else) is Babycat. Pepper on top, with a decent dose of vanilla. Or, it could be Azuree D’Or 🙂 But I think it is Babycat! Enjoying it, especially that whatever it is that I am wearing has a real beginning, middle, and end (top, middle, and base notes).
Raining today. We had a break long enough that I am actually enjoying the rain today. Hopefully it will not last another 30 days! The spotted fawns have been frolicking out back, which adds to fun.
Babycat sounds good, as do Babydeer
Glad to hear that the rain is going somewhere it is appreciated!
I’m in a tiny dab from a rollerball of Sage by Sage Machado for the cp. The notes list white sage but I mostly get cucumber. I’m catching up on work related email with a cosy home brewed hojicha latte.
I just returned last night from a trip to NY to visit my daughter and her very lovable cuddly rag doll kitty, Knuckles. Though I somehow didn’t receive my invitation to the Met Gala, I did get my fill of haute couture at the Mugler exhibit. Yay!
I sampled Carlyle, the new scent from D.S. & Durga and experienced the Fueguia 1833 range in Soho. Walked out empty handed at both boutiques, only to buy two Diptyque City candles while they were still available.
I was very tempted to get the Berlin candle this Saturday but didn’t, and now I wish I had. I did get a bottle of Carlyle tho, so we are like opposite twins. 😄
Are you new here, Ms Tar Heel? If so, welcome!
Happy for you getting to see the Mugler Exhibit – that looked so good. And of course happy you got to see your daughter *and* her kitty!!
I’m about to take my daughter to the dentist. Originally, we had planned on going to the zoo before the appointment. It’s super windy, cold, and rainy though. It might as well be October here. Thanks to the swapmeet and a lovely nster, I am wearing Opium edt.
Here’s hoping for an uneventful app. for your daughter and you smell fabulous of course.
Thank you. Her dentist visits always go well. I take her to a special needs dentist and she is very nice.
Hope that your daughter’s dentist appointment was boring and inexpensive!
That’s the perfect wish for a dental appointment!
It went well thanks! It is a bit of a cost even for a check up. Her dentist is out of network so I have to pay out of pocket for most of it.
Whoo hoo! But “Argh” on the out of network costs.
You smelled wonderful today! I’m glad the dental appointment went well.
You smell top notch and great about the dentist!
I came across a herb in the botanic gardens called Devil’s Dung , which naturally caught my interest and is not in the song Scarborough Fair ….Parsley, Sage and Devil’s Dung. The leaves smelled like a lavender/ carrot and I think the tap root is responsible for the ‘ dung’ aspect. Anyway, it might have been sold at Scarborough Fair.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asafoetida
One of the dishes served in the fair in Mayor of Casterbridge is Frumenty, a kind of porridge that I reckon would have been at Scarborough fair ( which ran for six weeks during August and September). I might make a bowl to see what it tastes like as I am curious.
https://historydollop.com/2020/03/15/frumenty-a-medieval-wheat-porridge/
Wearing Lush Pansy for the rosemary and wishing you well, Robin.
I brought some asafoetida back from a trip to South America years ago and every time I opened the drawer where it was stored, that smell hit me. I finally threw it away. It’s pungent and persistent!
I might search it out in the interests of science
This AM I was testing Nicolai l’Eau Mixte which I liked and it has mint, close enough to the CP. Tonight I’m in RP Visa edp, one of the few perfumes I literally crave sometimes, I also have the extrait which I shouldn’t save really as it’s a 50ml bottle but somehow my reflex is to save it.
I’ve just had organic baked beans for dinner, they were really better than regular ones.
Wore Alien Fusion last night from a sample. It is as if Alien and L’Air du Desert Moroccain had a baby and the baby really took after the Alien side of the family at first, but then once the (semi-infinite?) dry down hits the Tauer spices come out strong with a juicy amber background instead of the dry Desert air.
I got excited about it and ordered a bottle from ebay (since discontinued) but now i think it might have just been FOMO and am suddenly not in the mood for heady spices and just want light and easy.
So wearing Hermes Eau des Merveilles and it hits the spot just right!
I think you impulse was right! I love Alien Fusion 🙂
I appreciate hearing that, thank you! You never know with impulse buys, lol.
I love Alien Fusion but it is very short-lived on my skin.
Robin, it’s so so nice to hear from you, even just little snippets. You and your family have been very much in my thoughts.
I’m in the midst of a very busy work at week. I had to do a presentation today, something I seriously dread. Now I’m relieved it’s done, but I have to catch up on all the other stuff I’ve put off. I wore Clinique Aromatics in White this morning. It’s a very comforting and calming scent for me. Much needed!
You smell wonderful! I’m glad you got the presentation done, and done well I am sure!
MossyBerry, were you the one wondering about Luten’s Dans le bleu qui petille awhile ago? Let me know if you’d like a sample!
How nice – I am interested! You can reach me at kclberry over at net scape Dottienet.
Yay for getting that presentation done and dusted! Now it won’t be weighing on your mind.
Yes, I feel a huge weight lifted!
No rain but plenty of clouds today. Campfire Casserole has been made, with plenty of leftovers. I am watching for the batch to cool off a bit before I put it in the fridge.
“The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald” is one song that reliably gives me goosebumps ever single time I hear it.
Feels damp and chilly here, so the heat as been turned back on. Whatcha gonna do? 🤷♀️
SOTD = Cuir de Lancome. Nothing to do with the CP at all; I wanted to wear it. Getting close to a sample thunk of this one, too. It sure beats have samples and decants evaporate in situ!
Campfire casserole sounds really good.
I posted the recipe in yesterday’s SOTD thread, if you are interested.
I made a version of the casserole tonight. It turns out I didn’t have any corn, so I added green pepper. I also only regular fried the onions. It turned out pretty good.
Glad to hear that the recipe worked for you!
I usually make a double batch so that I have ready to eat leftovers handy. The recipe scales up easily.
I should bookmark the recipe, well, really, copy and paste to Notes.
I’ve done that with recipes that other NSTers have posted here.
SOTD is Sisley’s Eau de Campagne, which smells like an herb garden to me, but according to fragrantica the only herb note is basil. Tea today is Harney & Son’s Vienna, which is supposed to be black tea with notes of chocolate and nuts, but I am smelling those more than I am tasting them. The flavor I get is mainly roasty black tea, which is tasty but not as advertised.
Someone above mentioned their candle of the day and I like that. This week I’ve got a great Masala Rose candle from target burning and I’d put it up against a fancypants candle any day.
Today was a good day for burning candles. Definitely improved the gloom of the afternoon.
That would be me. I bought some candles that people mentioned on here and said I would report back.
Yes, please!
Today I reported on Sunday Morning by Brooklyn Candles. I purchased three from there and they are all very good. This was on a recommendation from pfsh. I purchased Nest Moroccan Amber which LTSG told me about. Also, I have been purchasing some from Tyler Candle for years as a local boutique carries them. They have some very nice ones as well.
MH La Pluie here. Because, yet again, la pluie… Also, le vent. And le froid. Bah.
whoops, I meant lE pluie
I don’t know if I have ever worn a “Le Pluie” perfume.
HA. It seems unlikely that you ever have. Tra la LA…
definite articles are confusing. sigh.
You were right the first time – la pluie. 🙂 We’re having the same.
SOTD = Parle Moi de Parfum Orris Tattoo 29
This is a seriously good iris perfume! Another one where I keep smelling someone smelling good and it is moi!
https://www.instagram.com/p/CrwfpyHu-KK/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
The writers’ guild union was demonstrating on 5th Avenue and 36th Street and all I managed was a picture with no placards, not one. Anyway, I am not taking sides, just reporting on what I saw! There was a giant inflatable mouse too but I suppose they could have just borrowed it although it is very possible that there were scabs.
♥️the🦉!
Thank you!
A giant inflatable mouse? That’s weird.
It’s actually a rat…many union strikes use them to shame strike breakers.
OK, I have heard about people crossing picket lines being called rats before.
Jepster is right, although mouse sounds cuter 🤣
Ooh! Parle-moi encore… What kind of Iris is it?
I’m late to the party, am still sort of dragging after my bad cold last week. I’ve gone out and done a few things but I feel constantly very tired and have been taking a lot of naps.
My SOTD is L’Ombre Dans L’Eau EdT from the Swapmeet, a generous freebie, which I’ve really been enjoying. It’s kind of light but definitely there, a juicy really green fragrance with a fresh rose. It’s a pick-me-up. On me it doesn’t have a lot of longevity but is just pleasant and pretty. I’m hoping to get my mojo back soon so I can get out and about more.
Sorry to hear that you still aren’t feeling right. That must have been a monster of a cold.
Been feeling the same way Calypso. I am on week 5 and I am never sick! Feel better soon.
