Last night was dinner with friends at a relatively new local place. Excellent food. Great people. Then we saw a performance of taiko drumming by Yamato.
Madtowngirl- they’ll be in Madison this weekend I believe. Hugely fun. They’re highly entertaining. Less artsy than Kodo, more of the taiko youthful exuberance I like.
I waste time watching how to tie scarf videos. Twilly scarfs are very beautiful and the perfume smells great too!

Etienne de Swardt and ELDO scream Paris to me with their colorful (some would use another adjective, I’m sure!) humor and quality perfumes. I may not like all of them, but I love Fils de Dieu, which I’m sporting again today!
I’m currently waiting to be picked up by the educator for my first day, which is sadly a day shift. Please put in a good word for me to the god of your choice that I make through the day without exclaiming, “This is the STUPIDEST system ever!” I tried to superglue my filter in place this morning, so we shall see how it lasts.
I won’t mention that I stopped at security to let them know I was starting, the vehicle I was driving, and the license. They didn’t want any of that, but promptly at 1am they knocked on my door to ask me who I was and what I was doing…🤦🏻♀️

Yesterday when I was volunteering at the library I found a new bakery https://www.heritagegrandbakery.com/bakery/ (no affiliation) The tea, which I took to go and sat in Bryant park, was very good. They charge a lot for tea, but the bag of loose leaf they gave me in my cup I used for two steeps. Just thought I would share. Next time I will try some of the baked goods.

Delina is lighter and fruitier than the Exclusif, which is more vanilla. YMMV

I’m in Après L’Ondée edt today. I haven’t worn as many Guerlains in a row as I have this week, and I’m really enjoying it. I haven’t even touched my AAs yet.

I chose Uncle Serge for Paris this morning, in Cuir Mauresque. It elicited a “you smell goood” from Mr. G, and is blending nicely with my morning coffee, so win win. ☕️

It has been in the low 40’s today, but feeling in the 30’s. Windy and very unpleasant. The weather is definitely making me feel exhausted. Not even coffee helped today. I need to take a quick nap now, before having dinner. 😴

Since I’m riding tomorrow and don’t wear perfume around the horses, I’m in Eau Capitale today, Diptyque’s composition in honor of the City of Light. It’s been compared to PoaL, but I find it more linear and far less complex, but a lovely rose fragrance nevertheless.

I tested La Religieuse at the duty free last week and liked it, so I bought it at the discounter when I got home. I’m wearing it today and I’ve dirtied it up with some civet tincture.
It’s heartening to know that Lutens can still be found at duty free!

Two soft leather perfumes today, this morning Shiseido Toko which was sadly neglected and tonight Infanta en flor, orange blossom and baby leather.
I’ve never heard of Toko. I love soft leathers.
Oh, my apology it is Koto, not Toko I sound dyslexic 😌, I really enjoyed it today, I think it is hard to get outside Japan.

1) In Figue de Dalmatie by Beauty Pie, a lovely fig leaf and floral scent . Very pretty, very close to the body now but would project in heat.
2) Pretty intense work week so far!
3) And a kitchen dud! I was give river smelt by a neighbor, so I cleaned them, seasoned with salt and pepper and dipped in tempura batter.
Deep fried.
Dug in and YUCK.
The taste was so disagreeable- a heavy weirdly metallic taste, with no sweetness. It would have been better used in the garden as fertilizer.
Oh what a disappointment for (3). So much work for nothing.
All of that ….for such a dud!
And then the after smell of frying fish. Usually the taste can justify it but UGH.

Back to PdN for today’s Paris moment, with Le Temps d’une Fête. It’s also working well for today — a daffodil fest! There were daffodils at the farmer’s market last weekend and they’re still hanging in there, so my whole house smells like daffodils, along with me.

I’ve had 2 sprays on about 9 hours now and I still smell it. It of course isn’t projecting much now.
Mattresses are sooo expensive!
I’m not with the CP and am wearing Byredo Super Cedar. It’s by accident since I didn’t wear anything to my class this morning but happened to find a sample of this on the floor of my car, so sprayed some on before lunch. I often dislike cedar as a note because it can be too pungent and piercing, but here is really softened by rose and musk, and it’s quite pleasant.
