Friday scent of the day 8/19

It’s Coco Chanel’s birthday. Our community project for today: wear something by Chanel, with double points for wearing No. 19. If you’re not up for a third Chanel project (see 2014 and 2019), vote with your fragrance and wear a brand that you think deserves more attention. Thanks to Dawn for the suggestion!

They can always smell our scents

However, even after knocking out an entire family of odor-sensing receptors from the mosquito genome, mosquitoes still find a way to bite us. Now, a group of researchers, publishing in the journal Cell on August 18, found that mosquitoes have evolved redundant fail-safes in their olfactory system that make sure they can always smell our scents.
