Friday scent of the day 7/1

Rabbit rabbit rabbit! It’s July, and Canada Day. Also, International Reggae Day, National Gingersnap Day and International Joke Day. Birthdays: George Sand, Estée Lauder, Debbie Harry, Princess Diana. Our community project for today: pick an occasion (it doesn’t have to be listed here!) and a fragrance to match, and tell us about it.

We take it very, very seriously

Sustainability? We take it very, very seriously. And it's not just greenwashing. When I joined Dior, for example, I did training dedicated to reducing my footprint not only at work, but in my private life. This morning, I had a three-hour session with the CEO and the dedicated sustainability team about how we have to halve our footprint by 2030. And the team will be communicating soon what Dior is doing, and we are massively involved. I like the challenge very much – because it can be a game changer.

Aedes de Venustas Corfu Kumquat ~ fragrance review

A few fragrance-friends and I were recently chatting in a group text about our favorite perfumes for very hot days. I’m pretty predictable — as usual, I mentioned Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau and 4711 and last year’s Jo Malone Tangy Rhubarb Cologne. Then I remembered that I have a new summer-favorite scent to add to this list: Aedes de Venustas Corfu Kumquat.

Aedes launched Corfu Kumquat back in March 2022 as a fresh addition to its revamped in-house fragrance line, describing it as “a Grecian sun-drenched citrus marked by complexity and longevity.” This Eau de Parfum is named for the island of Corfu and for the small oval-shaped fruit sometimes known as “the golden orange”…
