From Vacation (did anybody try the lip balms?), the Home Resort 3 candle set, with High Ceiling Resort Lobby ("Fresh cut flowers, high gloss magazines, delicate swells of air-conditioned ocean breeze"), Well-Tipped Pool Boy ("Coconut sunscreen, recently de-leafed swimming pool, resort towel, a dash of hand-me-down-cologne, desire") and Partial Ocean View Suite ("Crisp white linen, freshly cleaned surfaces, partially-obstructed island breeze"). Three x 241g for $96 at Vacation.

It’s (a very Mondayish) Monday. Also, Nelson Mandela International Day. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m taking points early in Hermès Un Jardin Sur le Nil. Possibly I’ll just wear it all week.

It’s going to attract mosquitoes

Acetophenone is a naturally occurring fragrant substance with a sweet, floral scent that is found in a number of perfumes. According to the Fragrance Conservatory, “different industries and manufacturers may use different names for the same ingredient.”

You can find acetophenone on labels with names like acetylbenzol, ethanone, and 1-phenylethanone. But no matter what name this perfume ingredient goes by, it’s going to attract mosquitoes.
