Monday scent of the day 8/1

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Welcome to August, aka Peach Month and National Sandwich Month. RIP Nichelle Nichols and Samuel Sandoval. What fragrance are you wearing?
I’m starting the month right in Parfum d’Empire Azemour Les Orangers.
Reminder: on 8/5, wear a fragrance that says August to you…
A cool, nostalgic smell
One theory posits that the aroma is linked with summertime memories of road trips, jet ski rides, and classic cars. For [perfumer Pia] Long, the smell of gasoline is “a cool, nostalgic smell”: She grew up in Finland in the ’70s, when motorsports were popular and tailpipe emissions were strong, and associates it with her childhood. It’s also possible that gasoline unconsciously reminds us of other early experiences. Benzene is one of the 20 most widely used chemicals in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society, and has made its way into many detergents, pesticides, and plastics — so some have suggested that people could be associating it with that “new toy” smell of childhood.

Lazy weekend poll ~ open thread, late July 2022

It’s the last weekend in July (don’t forget to rabbit on Monday). Saturday is Emily Brontë’s birthday and Sunday is World Ranger Day. We’re marking it all with our same old open thread poll.
Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the fragrance that matches a character in Wuthering Heights, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…
