Le Galion Ferveur & Eau Noble ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 9 November 2022 4 Comments

French perfume house Le Galion has launched Ferveur, a new fragrance. Earlier this year, the brand reissued Eau Noble, a 1972 fragrance. Both scents were developed by perfumer Rodrigo Florès-Roux.

Ferveur ~ "Le Galion’s newest scent, Ferveur, is the fragrance Paul Vacher would probably have composed, had he lived through the 80s and got to know those years of excess and exhilaration. With this creation, Rodrigo Florès-Roux, a perfumer dear to the brand, chose to pay tribute to Paul Vacher in 2022. Ferveur expresses the loyalty, love and passion of this mythical perfume creator whose life was entirely dedicated to fragrances. A generous olfactory rush that invites worship and devotion. But behind the near-sacred undertones of its name - the formula is particularly rich in incense - Ferveur is also a devilishly sensual fragrance. As imposing as a cathedral, but as hedonistic as an evening at the Palace night club in Paris. Its fresh and aromatic opening soon blends with the boisterous exuberance of amber." The notes for the aromatic amber include bergamot, clary sage, myrtle, cypress, iris, rose, coriander, cinnamon leaf, vanilla, styrax, Tolu balsam, patchouli, vetiver, incense and leather.

Eau Noble ~ "In the early 70s, the world was changing, counter-culture was celebrated, perfume became more accessible. A breath of fresh air swept over France and into perfumery. Traditional formality made way for youthful energy, while outdated bourgeois ideas were overthrown by young students hungering for freedom. Eau Noble embraces these two mindsets. The name itself showcases a prestigious heritage while the unisex fragrance heralds a bright future. A bold legacy. [...] Fifty years later, the perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, who has a close relationship to Le Galion, has designed a purer olfactory composition emphasising [sic] a woody, abstract dominant accord, with energising green notes and a subtle gourmet touch. In 2022, Eau Noble is back, as contemporary and mixed as ever. " The notes include rhubarb, reseda, blood orange, mastic, ginger, sandalwood, geranium, pine needles, Atlas cedar, patchouli, cypress and labdanum.

Le Galion Ferveur and Eau Noble are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Thank you Robin, they sound quite appealing to me, I haven’t followed closely what Le Galion is up to, but student protests and cultural changes were in the late sixties, 1968, not the early 70’s as they state in their description.

Well I have not followed closely either…they apparently released a bunch in 2020 when I was paying more attention to the pandemic, or something else.

Oooo I really like these bottles! Fancy but sleek, modern but also vintage-y.

I like the sound of Eau Noble, too.

They’re great bottles: Pierre Dinand, who apparently also did the 1972 version.
