I'm in Sarah Jessica Parker Stash, for the ginger note, to match one of my favorite candies, chocolate covered ginger. (Trader Joe's used to make a decent version, but my sister makes a perfect one.)
Reminder: 11/4 is National Candy Day. Wear a fragrance inspired by candy, or wear Prada Candy or any other fragrance named for a candy of any kind, or forget the gourmands but wear a fragrance with at least one note that recalls a flavor in one of your favorite candies.

I’m wearing L de Lolita Lempicka for the salty caramel popcorn, it’s yummy! I totally forgot about this one until this CP. I’ve read that L turns pretty quickly but that’s not my experience, I was surprised by how much is left in my bottle and it still smells great, thankfully. We are enjoying another perfect Indian summer day, sunny and mild. I’ll take these days from now till spring, please.

Got a lengthy exposure to Covid last night because people didn’t do their job. I was in the unlucky position of notifying the surgeon. He was justifiably angry, but not at me. I’m glad I didn’t get blasted, but I sure hope he blasts SOMEONE in management. As for me, I will be writing to the CNO about this. I can’t stand lackadaisical healthcare. The end result is I may head down to the SW earlier than I planned. 🤷🏻♀️

UGH. Apologies for not remembering…have you had it already or have you escaped so far?
I’m pretty sure I had it before it was even named back in December 2019/January 2020. I’ve always tested negative since testing became available. But really, this hospital has dropped all visitor restrictions and mask policies, which imo, is irresponsible right now. People aren’t being tested when admitted from ER or when admitted for surgery on any kind of consistent basis. Some people, for various reasons, are unable to get the vax and thus remain very vulnerable. And RSV is just exploding with kids needing a PICU bed not able to find one even 4-6 hours away. Patients being boarded all over hospitals across the country…ugh! My general community message is to PLEASE be very careful this winter, just as you have for the past two and a half years, make sure you are fully vaccinated if at all possible, avoid mingling with more people than necessary, and disinfect every surface and hands regularly. Masking is unloved, but if you’re a vulnerable individual, I would still do it in public. This is not the time to be in a hospital if you can possibly avoid it. That’s my PSA. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer of Healthcare. 🤧😷🥴

I’m in The Buddhawood Box, from a 4160 Tuesdays sample. Sadly, this goes all cuminy and fake maple flavoring on my skin. I’m pretty sure it’s the whiskey…? Anyhoo, I’m having instant oatmeal flashbacks from childhood so this sample will be passed on.
The new puppygirl played a little last night! Someone left a mini sized Kong tennis ball at the dog park, and my little sweetie ran for it when I threw it. She’s definitely not fetching/retrieving by any means, but I’ll take it. It’s the first time she’s shown any real interest in a toy, so this makes me very happy! ❤️🐕❤️
Eeek! Fake maple flavouring is an automatic NO for me. It saves me a lot of money, as I sense it a lot in Amouage offerings.
Our nose brains don’t have to spend much time on perfumes with immortelle…but now I need to resniff some Amouages….

I don’t know if sweets ( candy) can be iconic but Jaffas would fit the bill. They are round, chocolate centred with a hard orange candy shell that cracks when you bite it so the chocolate melts in the mouth. Jaffas could always be found on the floor of cinemas but not any more…they would get dropped and roll off into the dark. There were also Jaffa races down the steepest street. The chocolate factory has closed here so they are now made in Australia. Olympic Or bids California Chocolate has the perfect orange chocolate combination to match. I’m sure other countries have their own jaffas too.
We have them in the UK, we call them Jaffa cakes.

My sotd is LPRN Couture for the licorice. I scored half off candy yesterday. Hershey Kisses and miniatures. It’s 68 degrees and sunny here. It doesn’t get any better than this!

It might not be licorice. I get a slight similarity to LL though so I’m just assuming. Thanks for reminding me it’s raspberry and not cherry. This is definitely my favorite version.

I love it! It smells exactly like the indian ice cream. Cardamom is the dominant note, followed by vanilla. I always end up craving and getting some kulfi from the indian store every time I wear the scent.

Question- if I recall you have sampled Dame Chocolate and Rose? If so is it really rosy? The regular chocolate one is a little too chocolate for me. I am hoping the rose makes it less sweet.

I sampled the Dame Chocolate-Rose a while ago and rose is the dominant note, which is very well blended with chocolate. It is not as sweet as Chocolate Man or the more recent release of Chocolate+. I think you would like it.

Thanks to several people who responded to my post yesterday, either about my upcoming visit to Portland or my interest in finding a dark chocolate-orange perfume. I had my Covid booster shot yesterday and it has left me feeling a bit like I’m in a stupor and need hours and hours of sleep. Foxbins, I will write you soon. Today I managed to meet a friend for lunch. I’m wearing MPG Sandalwood, it’s a good one. I went to a little shop I don’t often visit and they had some interesting candles and one line called Saint that had some small roll-on perfumes. I tried their African sandalwood and Mt Ararat. I liked them both, and they are very potent. Didn’t buy them but worth considering at $55 though the bottle is small. Here’s a link about them. Has anyone else tried them?
