I'm taking geranium points in Tauer Perfumes Sotto La Luna Tuberose. Tea at the moment is Numi Chai, brewed with a little pinch of cacao husk.

I got a shock when I stepped outside at lunchtime. I figured, grey clouds and fog means chilly. Wrong! It was warm! Too warm for a jacket, that’s for sure.
It has been super humid, warm and uncomfortable the whole day. I have all windows open and a fan running in my bedroom and kitchen. I also thought fog meant chilly. Wrong!
Not in love with that tea set (the disembodied mouths are creepy), but I do love the famous Picasso portrait of Dora Marr.

I went for the obvious this morning—the only geranium with “geranium” in its name: Aerin Wild Geranium. There is a phase where it gets sort of interesting, but it’s faded to just a vague floral impression. The price point for these is silly.
My husband is out of town for the week, which has renewed and deepened my respect for single parents. I only have one kid, and he’s a doll, but I’m still stressed!
I have the same feeling when my spouse is gone! He does all the drop off and pick up, so it gets hectic when I have to do all that around work, and get dinner on the table.
I am trying to find my sample of Aedes Pelargonium, which I think is my only chance for geranium in the name, but so far no luck!
That’s the one I’m planning on wearing for Friday.

Phi for me today, since Bourbon geranium is listed in the notes (though I’ll admit I haven’t smelled it specifically…will try harder today, I guess).
I was hoping it’d be Lush Turmeric Latte, since they restocked the small bottles and my order was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but now Canada Post says they are “verifying my address”. (Wait, aren’t they the ones who gave me my address?) This has happened a couple of times lately — usually around 4:30 p.m., which to me means “The driver knows perfectly well where your address is, but didn’t make it there before calling it a day.” Oh well, maybe it’ll turn up today?
Oh, good to know about PHI. I had no clue. You smell fab! The post office is mystery. Not sure it could be any more I efficient if it tried. I hope you get your package today!

I am so frustrated with Lush USA, there is *still* no stock or even a tester of Turmeric Latte. A few bottles popped up on the website last week, but I didn’t want to buy unsniffed. (taps foot impatiently)
Wearing no 5 Eau Premiere today. My 10 month old Lab puppy is crazier than normal. She stole one of my shoes because she doesn’t want me to go to work. She also wasn’t happy that I was on the phone taking care of something when she wanted me to spend that time cuddling her. She gets tons of cuddles every day.
I’ll bet she’s adorable.

I was surprised to learn, via Fragrantica, that I have *seven* fragrances on hand that include a geranium note. Unfortunately, the database doesn’t isolate geranium LEAF, and I sure as heck don’t know the difference. I am meeting a friend for drinks later, so probably will not choose Aromatics Elixir, especially because the weather remains unseasonably warm. Perhaps I’ll allow myself a spritz of the nearly empty TDC Bois d’Iris. Or maybe Violetta?
Geranium generally means the leaf, at least in perfume.

We are in line to jump on the ferry to journey back to reality. Ugh! This is the not so fun part.
I camped at an amazing place these past few days. Scenic, peaceful, with some interesting wildlife popping up here and there. It’s also part of the Washington Marine Trail, so yesterday a small skiff pulled up and two guys jumped out. Being the nosey neighbor that I am, I watched in amazement as they set up camp. Out of this (small) skiff they set up a large sleeping tent, a larger pop-up over the picnic table to keep themselves and equipment out of the rain, all kinds of other equipment, and then last of all a HUGE boiling pot! T-Rex could have fit in that pot it was so big. That skiff was like the Tardis! Things that really shouldn’t fit in that small of a boat just kept popping out
I saw them out on the water this morning as I got ready to leave. They were fully encased in waterproof everything and looked happy as a clam (pun intended) to be out on a grey, chilly, rainy day. I’m assuming the big pot was for boiling crabs. Anyway, they looked like professionals so I just watched and learned, really in awe of people who don’t let the weather dictate to them.
I’m wearing Salomé today, which is warming me nicely. I can smell it just fine, even though I’m still snorting, sniffling, and coughing. I will have to go to a walk in clinic sometime before work to get tested for Covid and RSV. I don’t think it’s either, but I can’t work symptomatic unless I have negative tests.

Good luck with the tests. We’ve had the sniffles around here, but the rapid tests are saying it’s just normal life, not COVID.
I too admire people who can shrug off the weather. I did take a kayaking course in Seattle in the winter, and stayed pretty warm in a dry suit, but can’t say I loved kayaking in the rain. I’ve been trying to talk Ockeghem Teen into a kayaking camp next summer so she can learn how to pack all the necessities in a kayak, but she seems to think that would be more *work* than normal sleepaway camp. 😀
Lol, I’m sure she’s right. I do love kayaking but I am definitely a fair weather paddler and have never intentionally gone out in the rain.
My son did a camp like that, spent 2 weeks in Georgian Bay/Lake Huron sea kayaking. He loved it and still talks about it. madtownteen will spend a month next summer in Saskatchewan canoeing.
Oooh, better kayaking than portaging. 🙂 Kayaking in Georgian Bay sounds lovely. Ockeghem Teen could go to Desolation Sound for two weeks here (not quite a fjord, not the Inside Passage but just off it, very remote). I’d do it in a heartbeat. The teen, not so much. 😀

Oh, I like that set too, but I guess I’m the odd man out here. I also have a couple of pendants in a similar style. One is carved rock crystal set simply in a band of gold with a gold bail set with an opal. The other is carved bone with an elaborate gold headdress set with pink tourmaline and then amethyst birolettes along the bottom. Hard to describe but very beautiful. They are referred to as “goddess” pendants, I’ve had them for ages and absolutely love them. The faces are very serene. 😍

After a morning’s work to close out my garden ahead of rain and cooling weather, post shower in Shalimar edc. I am near a “thunk” on this bottle from 2011, which was just before my fall down the Rabbit Hole. I think I got it at CVS! Shalimar in edt or edc and/or body lotion, and White Linen edp and/or body lotion were my post-graduate go-tos in the Before Time.
Whenever I see Before Time, I automatically think pre-COVID but then you would have said pre-COVID!

Hi all, I was MIA yesterday due to what I think was a bad case of food poisoning. I’d had an assortment of snacks so there’s several culprits and I’m just throwing out things from my fridge that I can’t face again or take risk on. It’s embarrassing how, despite my ripe old age, I still long for my mom when I am sick like that! Have managed a boiled egg and toast today so that’s a good sign.
I don’t seem to have anything with geranium leaf, but I found one scent with geranium on Fragrantica’s (extensive) list: Ramon Monegal’s Mon Patchouly. So I’m wearing it though I suspect it’s got the flower not the leaf (“bourbon geranium” is shown in the notes with a picture of a red blossom). It’s an oddly sweet patchouly with some sort of fruity note to my nose though nothing is listed. It’s not bad, I don’t remember why I stopped wearing it years ago. Maybe I’ll revisit the other Monegals I own but just keep on a shelf in the closet.
We’ve had a very nice cool-down and it’s pretty outside today, maybe we’ve finally seen the last of the 80s? Oh, too much to hope.

Another gloomy day today. At least it isn’t raining (yet). Plenty of fog in my area, though.
I’ve jumped on the LUSH shower gel bandwagon and picked up 4 of them: Rose Jam, Sticky Dates, Blood Orange, and Good Karma. I was able to give each of them an exploratory sniff at the store before purchasing. I did not see Lord of Misrule but was in a bit of a rush. So all the talk here convinced me!
SOTD = 2 sprays of SSS Fireside Intense. Roughly half of my travel spray has been used.
PS. That tea set CREEPS me out! Perfect for Halloween week, I guess.

Some quick impressions of the “new to me” shower gels: Sticky Dates is caramel and maple syrup but surprisingly not sickly sweet; Blood Orange is a very nice citrus; and Good Karma is patchouli & citrus.
Rose Jam is a favorite in the dead of winter to help battle the blahs.

In Tauer Cologne du Maghreb for the geranium note. It’s not my favorite of his since he has so many other greats to compare it too but it’s a nice citrus change up on a gray, drizzly day.
He uses a lot of geranium, so I will be in Tauer too this week.
