Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said his latest financial venture was seemingly inevitable: A new perfume tied to his name, "Burnt Hair."

The billionaire Musk, the world’s richest man according to Forbes, announced his latest investment into the perfume industry on Tuesday and he said within six hours sold 10,000 bottles of his branded fragrance. At $100 a bottle, the product made a quick $1 million, according to the company. Then late Wednesday, Musk announced it had sold another 10,000 to total 20,000 – $2 million.

Who wants to bet it does not smell as nice as PHI Une Rose de Kandahar? Or Azzaro Wanted Girl? I hope someone gets to try it, but for $100 the joke, while funny to me, is not *that* funny.

I cannot think of much to say that does not violate my own comment policy 🙂

It’s just a gross name for a scent, and not even a good gross name like “Sécrétions Magnifiques”. It sure doesn’t make me want to smell it, but I guess as usual I’m not the target audience.

I would guess it hits the exact spot that were going for… Sécrétions Magnifiques sounds too fancy.

Ugh, I hope it doesn’t smell like the name but I’ll probably not smell it because of living in a small town.

I’ll bet $10 that it ends up smelling like a run-of-the-mill department store cologne. I sincerely doubt it’s about the substance. (And that’s all I’ll say that’s comment policy-appropriate!)

The slogans are funny but not $100 dollars funny.

“There’s a sucker born every minute” seems to be the MO of some individuals these days.
