The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 28 September 2022 12 Comments

A limited edition from the Diwali collection at Lush: Mango Shower Gel. "Get ready for Diwali celebrations with this brightening blend of vitamin-rich, fresh mango juice and warming cardamom infusion. We add coconut milk to hydrate and soothe skin, and a sweet and fruity blend of vanilla and blackcurrant absolutes for fragrance." Betcha it would layer nicely with Blood Orange, although that one is not getting stellar reviews. $11.50 - $38 at Lush USA.

Hmm…will have to go try. I love mango, but don’t often love the Lush gels, as they’re just too strong for me.

I tend to love them, but not 100% of the time, so do prefer to smell before I buy. But would have ordered this and the Blood Orange if the reviews for that one weren’t so meh.

For what it’s worth, I’ve tried both and I actually prefer the Blood Orange more!

Blood Orange is a bright, almost-sherbet-eseque orange. I bought a small shower gel and quickly upgraded to a larger bottle.

The mango is nice but it teeters JUST on the line of smelling too over-ripe for me – It’s alright, but I’m not personally sure if I’d buy it again 🙂

Mango + cardamom = a lemming is born. The shower gels are expensive, so I probably won’t buy, but will certainly huff if I get the chance. ❤️🥭❤️

They really are! I buy a lot of them but I don’t use Lush every day, I alternate with cheaper things.

Another trick…most of the Lush shower gels I have layer nicely with ShiKai Yuzu, which is quite reasonably priced (I buy the big gallon jug). So I just put a little of each on my sponge, makes the Lush scents last longer. Also helps when the Lush gel is just a tad too sweet for me — like Sticky Dates.

Love it, want it, feel nearly morally obligated to get it as a desi. Will report back if I succumb to my greed cultural heritage.

Ha, then I think you have to buy the whole collection. There’s a very cool looking bath bomb!

Oooh, bath bomb. Now that is where the kid and I do love Lush…unless the bath bombs have too much stuff in them and are hard to clean up.
