Penhaligon’s Highgrove Bouquet ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 16 August 2022 9 Comments

Penhaligon's will launch Highgrove Bouquet, a new fragrance created in collaboration with Charles, Prince of Wales.

We're proud to introduce our new scent, inspired by and created with HRH The Prince of Wales, Highgrove Bouquet.

With the Prince a passionate advocate for more than five decades, sustainability is at the heart of this new fragrance. What's more, 10% of all sales will go towards helping the wonderful work being done by The Prince's Foundation.

Floral with a yellow-velvet and a sparkling freshness with a sensual and woody touch of tuberose, cedarwood and musk. it captures the feeling of a summer's day.

***

In Summer, Highgrove Gardens hum with a smell often described as earthly sunshine. The grass bows to weeping silver lime, mimosa, and cedar.

Highgrove Bouquet was developed by perfumer Julie Pluchet, and features a Tilia Petiolaris (weeping silver linden tree) note captured by headspace technology. Additional notes include white florals, lavender, geranium and iris.

Penhaligon's Highgrove Bouquet will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

No doubt this one will be easy to like, if not love. A crowd pleaser I suspect.

I think the description metaphor of velvet, specifically yellow-velvet, while is probably highly subjective, is still really fun. Textiles often come to mind when I am trying to understand what I am smelling/feeling with a perfume. That could be a fun CP–wear a perfume that makes you think of a textile–linen, silk, raw silk, velvet, corduroy, damask, wool poplin, cashmere, polyester, swimsuit fabric, etc.

We did something similar, but still, we could do a variation

Ah. Well. Close enough. I was going for something more ephemeral in the way a perfume feels, but in the end it amounts to the same I suspect. 🙂

“I suspect”? I must be stuck on that today!

My silent snicker at a perfume in reference to Prince Charles changed to “ooh, that sounds lovely!” after I read the description. And I agree with Oakland Fresca, the description of yellow velvet helped.

The description does sound really really nice, despite my own personal feelings regarding the association.
