I don't know if I'll do a Chanel week, but today I'm in Boy Chanel.
Reminder: 8/19 is Coco Chanel’s birthday. We've done two Chanel projects in the past (see 2014 and 2019). If you're up for a third, wear something by Chanel, with double points for wearing No. 19. If you're not up for a third, vote with your fragrance: wear a brand that you think deserves more attention. Suggested by Dawn.

I will happily do a Chanel week, today I’m in Biarritz.
My teenager got home from camp this weekend. It was so good to see her! She had a great time and good weather for the most part. I love to hear all the stories when they come back from camp. Such good memories she’s making.☺️ Of course she wants to go back next summer and do the 35 day trip. We shall see….her 2 older siblings did not get to do that trip due to cost and still having to put younger kids through camp but, she’s the last kid. She also missed out on a year in 2020.
It was dreary and drizzly all weekend. I did lots of camp laundry😷 but other than that was pretty lazy. I think 3 days of gray has me feeling a little down this morning that summer is coming to an end. At least the sun is back!
The whole weekend was stinko weather. Good for doing laundry.

Laundry twins. My tween got home from camp on Friday, and we drove straight down to spend the weekend on an island with my family. She did not warn me that she had thrown damp clothes in her laundry bag, so by the time we got home yesterday, it smelled pretty bad. Think I’m through the worst of it, though!

I like the CP. I can easily do several weeks of Chanel. Today, I am wearing Paris-Deauville and enjoying it a lot on this warm, pleasant day.
A day full of boring, stressful meetings. Relaxion Day would be perfect for me today, but I guess I have to wait for the weekend to celebrate. In the meantime, I will relax having my second cup of iced coffee and a couple of ginger cookies.

Deauville is great for the hottest days of summer! However, I prefer Venise for cool days.
I haven’t tried that one yet.

Yep, I can get behind National Relaxation Day! I plan to relax every last minute in this 24 hour period. I had planned on making a quick trip to the post office, but since there is no “quick trip” in sight for me, I will sit my 🍑 in the recliner and ruminate on a recurring dream I’ve been having. I think it more to do with medication rather than emotional/cognitive state, but it’s good to reflect on these things to see if there is a deeper meaning.
I was going to wear Assam of India, which is waiting for me at the post office, but now I shall wear nothing in defiance of the fragrance gods. I suspect they’ll curse me and send bad juju my way in the form of an Electra complex or some such nasty thing. What’s a gimpy girl to do? Gimpy, gimpy, go!

I just played dress up with my daughters make-up. I don’t look half bad.
I used my Tree Hut Velvet Coffee body scrub and think it is nice. It’s very fragrant and smells like Coffee with cream and sugar. Very sweet. For pl67… it’s not course but probably more so than the St.Ives but I think it’s easy to water down.
Thanks to a generous nster I am wearing Coco edt. I swear I love this perfume so much it brings happy tears to my eyes every time I wear it.

Does your new body scrub have sugar or salt in it?
I’m pretty sure it’s sugar. I think I prefer salt but those seem to be more expensive. I loved the Origins salt scrub in the glass jar, but boy would it make the tub slippery! I’m too old to risk that now.
I have a sugar scrub that makes my tub & shower extremely messy after I use it, so I make sure it’s on a day where I was planning to clean the bathroom anyway.
Sugar seems to be gentler on my skin, so I prefer that.
The Tree Hut doesn’t make a mess. It dissolves pretty quickly.

I’m just now seeing that it’s Chanel week, but then, I don’t have much Chanel, anyway. (I should probably try more, but never get downtown.) In Diptyque Florabellio today for a simple summer fragrance. Back to the grindstone, after a whirlwind weekend away. I’m relaxing probably more than I should…getting a slow start today.
I’ve been busy all day but feels like I have not accomplished much, so probably I am relaxing more than I should too 🙂

I am accidentally compliant, because i grabbed my decant of Chanel L´Eau from my office stash. It will be gone soon, but i dont think i will need this again. Its nice, but so NOT me!
Now i am wearing Batucada after my post-biking shower, much nicer, i love the skin-like sweaty note.

Scent twins with pl67 in Paris-Deauville. It may be too warm for me to do a week of different Chanels each day (31RC doesn’t seem like a good fit, for example), but between Deauville, the last drops of a Biarritz split, and Cristalle Eau Verte, I will happily Chanel my way through.

I was just about to post about bot being motivated and poof…National Chill Day. An excuse to be lazy. Does anyone seem to have issues of motivation since the whole c 19 thing started? Idk it just seems like mentally, since 2020 I just have seen a decline in motivation for myself. I will start and then poof I wanna just be lazy and have Dunkin..like today lol. Double choco donuts, yes please. I just wanna feel happy and snazzy..this past year has been just meh mood wise. Lol.
Anyway..commando other than probably a chocolate frosting note somewhere on me and my shirt. Lol. Definitely not in a Chanel mood. More like..”Ok she took a shower probably” type body spray. Hmm. Maybe something fresh..like peony would be good. Idk. I did like Peony and Blush Suede..but sample is drained cause I am a bomb diva. Lol

Omega, I seem to have lost any motivation — for work, home tasks, exercise, personal hygiene — as well. All I want to do is sit, toss balls for the kittens, and play video games on my tablet.
I get that.
Covid has definitely changed the way I look at getting things done. I am not sure if for me it is really a lack of motivation…more that my goals have changed? And “self care” does seem more important than it used to.
My motivation is hit or miss at best lately. The past 3 years have definitely had a lot to do with it.
I view it as more society has changed drastically and we’re finding the right balance and if that balance requires one to practice more self-care, then so be it. I don’t know which famous person declared they were going to take a mental health break and it used to be a BIG.DEAL, but not so much anymore.
I have low motivation too but I think I now view a lot of things as unimportant and or temporally insignificant…like large chunks of my job. 😅 the pandemic has made me question all my personal and professional choices to date and it’s hard for to process it all so I would rather sit back, play with the cats like Lisa D and contemplate which perfume to sniff next.
Dang it, I’m missing Chanel week, my favorite house. Still sweating in the swamp, wearing Aura body lotion, no where near home and my perfume collection. Down here, scent melts off along with your makeup, hair style and will to live after five minutes outside. Of course, folks on the Gulf Coast have azaleas blooming while up north, we’re freezing in February, can’t have everything.

Tonight I’m in Crown Perfumery Heliotrope which smells just like marzipan, yum.
Oh, I bet that CP Heliotrope is wonderful.
It blooms in the heat of summer, I still see Crown Perfumery perfumes popping up on eBay here one UK from time to time at reasonable prices, I also have Stéphanotis, a beautiful floral.
If I came across a bottle of Eau de Russe in person I would have to buy it, but don’t wish to seek one out 🙂

Well, I share Coco Chanel’s birthday on Friday and so will start the party with Coco. Later this week I am heading north to the big smoke where there is a Chanel shop. I used to go there with Waterdragon whenever I was in town and sniff all the perfumes. My grail is Lion, on my birthday, for my birthday. Hopefully they will have it.
The wind is howling outside, and it’s teeth-chattering cold. The mimosa down the road has flowered, and my neighbour has two yellow daffodils. Just need a bit more warmth.
Lion is nice..I drained my decant some time ago from a split. Not sure what my fave Chanel is..Jersey? Oh wait..1957…oh man that’s good. I need a split on that lol

Happy almost birthday! I have to revisit my Le Lion decant. I got nuclear Shalimar in the opening and Coromandel in the drydown.
Eau de Givenchy from a mini I got off Fragrance.net. It is nice enough. I like those vintage colognes and leathery soapy florals though, like Caleche.
I don’t see myself buying a bottle and won’t finish my mini. In fact, the mini will go into my shelf where i display the minis. But it is always fun to try!
I also like those vintage, animalic/leathery soapy ones. Very regal smelling.

I like the growing up in 70s Seattle memoir, woven together with the yoga analogies. It made me join a yoga studio at the beginning of August, and there are two really great teachers there. Perhaps the adage that when the student is ready, the teacher will come, is true.
That book looks interesting, and maybe a good read for me since I’ve let my practice languish off and on since covid started. Thanks!

Today is the one year anniversary of my Mom passing away. It’s been on my mind all weekend. I got a text from one of my cousins this morning, saying that she was thinking about me. Some tears and a lot of quiet contemplation today.

Thank you for the hugs. My brother is still tying up the last loose ends of Mom’s medical bills. It is utterly insane how long that stuff gets drawn out.

Hugs go out to you. I know the feeling. I am at about 1 1/2 years since my mom passed away. Being an only child, I had to do all the tying up of loose ends. Luckily, I was able to get it done fairly quickly as most everything was done prior to her death. However, there is always that last bill or last piece of documentation that is needed before everything is complete.

It’s been too hot to wear fragrance during the day lately, especially if I’m outside for any part of it.
This morning I pulled out my Chanel No.19 edp, but I haven’t put any on yet. We have another hot week coming up so I will probably be fragrance-free during the days. I noticed a few bees hovering around my front flower pots of zinnias when I water them. I don’t want any extra scent on me to encourage them to get that close to me!
Will probably spray it on tonight.

I zoomed in to a work call earlier today (I’m off and this was only for an hour) and I am just shaking my head at the sassy (in a bad way) “leader” whose manager was on the call but she flippantly flicked him off when he “suggested” several things.
My TV is on the fritz and I suspect it’s the cable that is not connecting well… I’m okay with it so far because that will cut down on the TV-watching. Maybe I can get a few books read instead!

Forgot it was Chanel week and wore Clair de Musc today. One kid off to college in Alabama and moving the other into his dorm here in Arkansas on Wednesday. We will be empty nesters Wednesday night! Luckily, will have at least one close to home.
