Regime des Fleurs Tears ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 11 August 2022 5 Comments

Earlier this year, niche line Régime des Fleurs launched Tears, a new unisex fragrance.

Beauty moves the soul to tears.

Régime des Fleurs teams with Christopher Niquet to ask: What does it mean for a perfume to explore masculinity in 2021, at a time when gender norms are being challenged more than ever? How can we use ‘masculine’ ingredients in a new way?

A provocative name, but don’t assume only sadness here. Have you ever experienced a work of art that moved you so deeply that it elicited a physical response? Have you become so overwhelmed with beauty or joy that it consumed you?

Tears was developed by perfumer Mathieu Nardin. The notes include lilac, orris, olibanum, frankincense, orange blossom, green cognac, rosewater, pink pepper, mandarin and ambergris.

Régime des Fleurs Tears is available at Field & Florist, $225 for 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: according to the brand, Tears was not developed with Christopher Niquet and is not meant to explore masculinity.

Didn’t know this brand but I wouldn’t mind trying out this release. Sounds very nice. Not cheap though and I wonder if this brand is available in Europe, probably not.

If this is up to date, they are in Paris, London, Berlin, Vienna, etc

Oh I really want to sniff this. And a woman of color promoting it? Wow. Excellent. Is she famous and I am just clueless? Lemme restate. I am clueless; is she famous?

But I am confused about how the perfume notes explore masculinity. And golly who is calling what masculine? Which are the “masculine ingredients”? (Shaking my head in bewilderment.) I guess the answer to: “What does it mean for a perfume to explore masculinity in 2021?” is not a whole lot.

yah, i’m with you on wanting to know more about the lovely model in the photo, also have questions about masculine ingredients. my feeling is that they aren’t masculine or feminine or both or neither until they are given context by the person wearing the perfume.

at the same time, I love the minimalist yet broadly-meaningful name. One of my favorite sayings is the one about salt water, whether sweat, tears or the ocean, it is a good cure for many ills of life.

I would love to sniff this scent tho I can’t imagine ever doing so. 😉

She is not the only model…there is also an Asian man, and possibly others. I just liked this photo and it was happier than the others I saw.
