I had a taste of an iced coffee for the first time ever yesterday.
I’m not a coffee drinker but a few sips with ice is very nice.
I’m wearing Terre d’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche, which is citrus all the way. I can’t smell any vetiver. I may add some vetiver, since I found a small bottle of Demeter Vetiver in my Demeter stash.
I think my favorite of the series is still the original TdH.
I’m wearing the faintest spritz of Eau de Hongrie, because I have to participate in in-person meetings this morning.
Two of the kittens (the males) are getting neutered today, so I’m a little anxious about the whole “get them into carriers, drive them to the vet, leave them with strangers while they undergo anesthesia and surgical procedures, then usher them through the recovery period” situation. I hope they forget soon, and forgive me. 🙂
In general neutering males is less intrusive than spaying females. The surgery is generally laparoscopic, so smaller incisions, and hopefully less after-surgical pain. I’m sure everything will be fine.

I love that you love those kittens so much 🙂 I got my kitty a “onesie” when she got spayed to keep her from licking the wound..much better than wearing those horrible cones around the head. My vet approved of the onesie and it did quite well.
Ooh, a onesie is a great idea! The three females are getting spayed next week, so I’m going to see if I can find some for them — the cones look like they’d be very uncomfortable.

Weather continues pleasantly cool, low twenties, so once again I’m brazen enough to wear something warm, Mugler A*Men Pure Malt. It doesn’t smell particularly malty or peaty or boozy in any way to my non-drinker’s nose, but it sure is nice.

I’m back to testing Arcadia this morning. I dabbed more lightly this time, and while I still got the funky lily at the top, it did its magic morphing trick within minutes and is climbing quickly up my wish list.

I’m wearing Origins Ginger Essence today.
Sort of weird they don’t do a flanker to that one every year…it must be one of their big sellers.
Maybe they will start for the ginger lovers. I learned recently from the SA at the Holts Guerlain counter that Ginger Piccante is discontinued. Also I can’t believe the price increase… I bought GP in 2019 and it was $85 CDN. The Aqua Allegorias are now $125.
Wow, that is an impressive rise, I haven’t been paying attention. (And they used to be more like $65, IIRC, but maybe that was some years ago)
Wearing a sample of Miller Harris’s Poirier d’un Soir today. This is a fresh pear with studded with pink peppercorns on me. There is rum in there too, but it is faint and it is like all of the sharpness from the alcohol has burned off and you are left with just the rum flavors. That works better here than a full-on boozy rum because the sharpness form the alcohol would overwhelm the delicateness of the pear. Pear is not my note, so this isn’t for me, but it is a lovely pear perfume.
My insomnia has broken! Fell asleep right away last night and slept through my alarm, luckily waking up four minutes before my 9am call. Apparently four minutes is enough time to brush my teeth and throw on a Zoom shirt when I motivated!
Avoiding caffeine for one more day with rooibos again. I couldn’t find chai spices, so I added some coconut and almond slivers, and am happy with my concoction.
So glad you got a whole night of sleep, that’s wonderful!
I have a mix of rooibos with eucalyptus and citrus that I really like, but sadly cannot remember where I got it.

I’m feeling Guerlain love today. JdP makes me think of bees making honey among white and yellow flowers. Must be some magnolia in there. I lined up Guerlain bottles today to inspire more perfumed playtime. Hope it ups my frag mojo.
Favorite s’mores: Trader Joe’s Triple Gingersnap Cookie topped with half a big marshmallow then 8 seconds in the microwave. Yummy!
My favorite cattle dog is visiting with me for a week while her family is gone on holiday. She’s adorable, follows more than 20 commands, loves to walk and play, almost never barks or whines. She is A Very Good Dog. 🙂
TJ’s triple gingersnap cookies are perfection. I’m definitely going to try your melted marshmallow variation. Maybe with a smear of lemon curd.

Sampling a few things today, including J Scent A Shaft of Light. This is so pretty and easy going. Sort of a lighter, fresher SJP Lovely? Maybe MJ Daisy without the fruit? Feels like being fresh out of the shower on a spring morning or standing in a sunlit meadow.
The other samples are something else entirely: Papillon Salome, Dryad, Hera and Bengale Rouge. Love Hera on skin, have only sniffed the others on blotters but expecting to love them all too. It’s still a bit warm out and my stomach is feeling a bit iffy so holding off on trying the rest out today. But it is exciting to have something to look forward to!

So, just a show of hands. If you were told that some perfumes contain a substance, if taken at a high enough quantity, could interfere with your [name a bodily system], will you look for it in every perfume you have and not ever wear them? OR take the info as an FYI and keep your perfume habits? Most recently, the NYTimes published an article about titanium dioxide (an ingredient in sunscreen) used as a colorant in Skittles made in the U.S. Skittles is not a food group in my diet but I would not refuse a snack bag. I used this as an example to basically say don’t go crazy over the news about perfumes, but I got downvoted. I don’t care about the downvotes, just disappointed at people who can’t understand why I am using it to answer the question.
I’d keep the info for future ref and that’s about it.

I haven’t worn SL Fleurs d’Oranger in a long time, so that was my sotd. It bloomed beautifully so I’m glad I pulled it out.
We had clouds for the morning but the sun rolled back in. So much for our cool down; we are back up to high temps but at least we don’t have crazy humidity.
