It is in 100mls only, at my biggest local department store’s Chanel counter (they have the Exclusifs there so it’s a bit fancier than other counters in my city). And yes, I do love it! I had tried it a while ago as the lovely sales assistant had recommended it to me when I was looking to try something else, then I tested it a few times especially after seeing your comments, and I was so pleased that it was the same SA working when I decided to splurge. She’s happy, I’m happy, and it’s thanks to you! 😃

I need another vanilla like I need a hole in the head, but if I should ever happen to come across a bottle of I Profumi di Firenze Vaniglia di Madagascar, I would snap it up so fast. I have no idea why I didn’t buy the concentrato when I was actually *in* the store in Florence: probably they were out of it (they were out of a fair number of things, as I recall.) I’m wearing it today, almost the last drops of an old sample, and it is so wonderful, warm and snug with just a hint of an edge to keep it from cloying. If we ever get back to Florence (maybe next year!), I know what I’m doing.

I’m wearing a favorite vetiver, Grey Vetiver. I will probably never get a bottle of this, but I wish I could. On the other hand I have my two favorite vetivers in bottles, and they were both cheap thrills.
Ooh, me too! I have enjoyed Grey Vetiver every time I try it. I keep thinking I’ll buy a bottle and haven’t. Do you like the EdT or EdP? I think like the EdT a bit more. What are your two other vetiver favorites? (I confess I recently bought a back up for my beloved Terre d’Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche). You smell fantastic!
I have Grey Vetiver as a decant, and honestly I’m not sure whether it’s the edt or edp. I have not encountered a vetiver that I haven’t at least liked, but two of my favorites are Guerlain Vetiver, and Encre Noir. These are the two bottles that I have. I just recently got a mini of Eau Tres Fraiche and haven’t tried it yet. I am currently looking for Route de Vetiver. I had a 1ml sample, and liked it, but when I started looking for a decant, I couldn’t find one.

I racked up quite a bill during the Harrod’s 10% off sale last week; despite paying ~$42 for shipping, I saved at least $100 per bottle between the sale and the exchange rate (but only Donatella will get that confession.) I dithered about a Chanel Exclusif to purchase, so I’m wearing a sample of the loser: Boy. I love the first two hours but sometimes the drydown is rather vapid on me. Much better on fabric.

We have been very busy in the construction site and my body has been adapting slowly to be outdoors the whole day again facing the heat, sun and humidity. I am eagerly looking forward to September when hopefully I will be spending most of the time in the office.

Contradiction is a weird one. The eucalyptus top note is unmistakable.
I’m in PHI Une Rose de Kandahar. Definitely full-bottle worthy, but I have never purchased one because I didn’t think I would wear it enough. (It seemed a bit dramatic for a high school classroom.)

I love Phi a lot and I’ve really considered buying a bottle too. Especially since Andy said he might not be able to get another batch of the rose oil! I don’t personally find it too dramatic especially considering his other fragrances but I certainly respect your assessment.

I’m in Vol de Nuit, from a Royalty Scents decant. I have no idea which iteration this is. My best guess is that it is edt, from the modern sticker/spray bottle with the up-side-down heart/triangle cap. (No longer on the website.)
My husband doesn’t love this one (“Powder!” he says dismissively), and I don’t really need it at all. But I find it a little addicting and am happy to revisit it often.

I was listening to a Live interview the other day with the perfumer Christophe Laudamiel and was intrigued by Smile and Shine. I am not familiar with this line. Anyone tried any of his perfumes? What do you think ?

(When I google-searched Libertine Violeta body, I got a warning that my search settings were such that I would see (and now I am forgetting what was the adjective used, it wasn’t pornographic, it was something else :lol:) “something,” but I needed to press something to continue. I figured that the “something” was not going to get me closer to violet body oil!

A few weeks ago I was a bit sick and I suspect it was Covid because for some days I completely lost my sense of smell. I tested negative, however, so who knows…

I’m in the lovely Chanel Bel Respiro. My decant predates the EDP formulation and I’m curious how the EDT and EDP compare — have any of you experienced both? There are minis of the EDT still out there, and a couple of FBs of it for unreasonable sums, but mostly new bottles are the EDP and I don’t dare blind-buy.

I tried a single spray of the EdP and found it rather boring after the first hour but I was not a huge fan of the EdT either. I’ve heard Bel Respiro is the most affected by the switch to EdP.v
For the CP my pick is Neroli Outrenoir. One of the ones I really wish I bought before the new bottles/price hike. Will probably never get a full bottle now, unless I come into some windfall! 😆

I’m continuing my imagined Fzotic buying spree with Zdravetz today. I love a grapefruit + rose combo, and independently I love both passionfruit and galbanum. Together they have an industrial/CdG weirdo vibe that has me sniffing my wrist every few minutes. I’m not sure I smell good, so much as I smell interesting. And then later it morphs into a woodsy scent with the ever present geranium note, which doesn’t quite scratch my Forest + Juniper itch, but it is in the same arena. So at both the top and the dry down, this one is like my kitchen sink of favorite notes.
Drinking F&M Prince of Wales tea and planning my weekend home alone while Mr. Vee is on a camping trip. I’m contemplating binge watching What We Do in the Shadows while organizing my samples, since I know I will have to first take everything out and make a giant mess before I can put it all away in some semblance of order.

Oh, God, Raw Gold is the perfume I most lust after right now! I do not perceive it as primarily leather-centric. How odd. I don’t even like leather in most scents. Hmm.

My beloved girl passed away. Her unconditional love was always a lesson. I miss every little paw, sound, kiss, her cute little tail, just everything. Our daily car rides. I miss getting the poop bags ready.
That said, I’ve been purchasing perfume like crazy. Yes, by names. I started sampling. I bought Dog Star, Arso(I love, but will be perfect as she loved our pine trees and Christmas). Be the Shaman has a big connection. Bummed me out that several didn’t work.
An aquatic, or a sunset- might be on the radar. And i might order a sample Ghost Pines. Ghost in a Shell is a clear winner. The Pacific Island Moss is, too. Any recs are welcome.
Or help for grieving. It has been a long bunch of years with many sick and dying and I am numb.

Kind of a dismal day here, after a glorious day yesterday. I left work yesterday at 6 and walked up the street to our harbor view park to listen to live music and look at the sun shimmer on the water. And munch on local cherries. Sweet.

After two weeks, I think I’ve just about got over Covid. Yesterday afternoon, I suddenly felt a lot more normal. I was very worried about my diminished sense of smell for a few days, but that came right.
Perfume-wise, I’m looking forward to getting to my local perfumery. They now stock some of the Xerjoff perfumes, I’ve never tried any from that house.

With summer in mid-swing, the days and nights fly by as my favorite summer activities – outdoor concerts, swimming, gardening, and baseball games – vie with each other for attention as I try to maintain the benefits I’ve gained from yoga by keeping that in my regimen, too. After the slowdown and isolation brought about by the pandemic, even these welcome activities can be exhausting. I’m not used to much fun! 😺
This weekend is our community’s first Taste in 3 summers, with all sorts of wonderful food and entertainment. We’re fortunate to live only 2 blocks from the site so we don’t even have to compete for parking, just take a leisurely stroll there. Had a great time last night, hoping that today’s rain has finally ended before tonight’s visit. 🤞. I’ll be working at our pop-up library book sale tomorrow, and my DIL’s parents are in town for the weekend visiting from Boston; we like them very much and haven’t seen them in several years due to pandemic isolation so we’re trying to get some time in for a visit with them also..
I have so many fragrances I’m really not hankering for a full bottle of anything right now. The last time we did this cp I remember my want was The Vagabond Prince Enchanted Forest – I still would like this but haven’t bought a bottle (yet!) For today’s cp I’m wearing Dolly Parton’s Scent from Above from a sample. It’s a nice fruity floral that descends into a reminiscence of TM Angel, and I briefly thought of getting a full bottle, mostly to support Dolly’s efforts since I think she’s a fantastic human being as well as a very talented one, but I doubt I will.

I’m wearing Chanel Paris-Deauville, and I really do plan to buy a FB of it. Luckily it isn’t too expensive. It’s such a good scent for summer. Basil in a perfume always just sends me.
This week has had some mild drama with doctors, tests, paperwork, and physical therapy.
In looking up Paris-Deauville I was reminded of YSL Paris and have been shopping around trying to buy a bottle. I found some with a coupon on Fragrancenet but when I try to submit the payment and order form I keep getting an error message. Grrr!
Oh I hope you can cheer yourself up with a new bottle of Paris. Very sorry to read about your drama and I hope you have a relaxing and happy weekend after this week.
When I sampled those, Paris-Deauville was my favorite. Haven’t tried the new releases in that line. Totally understand the “drama” related to healthcare, billing, appointments, and insurance. All so headache inducing and last thing someone who is trying to heal a broken arm should have to worry about. I hope it’s sorts itself eventually. These things usually do.

Another one of my friends has been exposed to COVID. She was notified that a coworker of hers tested positive earlier this week. We were supposed to get together tomorrow. Not happening. She’s getting tested on Monday. Damn virus.
SOTD = the very last drops of my Au Dela Narcisse extrait sample from Bruno Fazolari/Fztoic. I even took the sprayer top off with a pair of needle-nose pliers to get at everything. Sample thunk! This one rang my bell hard!

I did ask about a self-test. She said that she was told not to take any kind of test until Sunday. Something to do with the incubation period of the virus. IDK if she had any home test kits or not. But if her work is wanting PCR results, I know that some employers do require those before clearing an employee to RTO. 🤷♀️

I picked up Covid in the airport/plane on Wednesday and started feeling sick on Saturday, so for me it was about three days of incubation.
Friday at last! Trying Molinard Vanille Patchouli today which is giving me Coromandel vibes…not a dupe but sweet, smooth patchouli and vanilla…very nice. Something in the sweetness is kind of chocolately hence the Coromandel.
I am feeling tired from the last few weeks and grateful for the weekend. Also got back into the Ruth Galloway series this week, which several NSTers have read, and am devouring Book 6 The Outcast Dead. The series is really a perfect before bed diversion w/ a bit of history, crime and soap opera all against an English backdrop. Wonderful escapism.

Planned on Zoologist Civet, but could not find my sample. I hadn’t worn it in a while, so I did not want to call it FB worthy without a recent wearing. However, in searching through the sample jar, I found a decant from The Perfume Court that arrived in a niche sample lot I got on Ebay. The perfume is Shaik Opulent No. 33. I had no idea about it and purchased the lot for a couple vintages I spied. But I loved it instantly when I gave it a brief test a year or so, and I love it now. Does anyone else have something from this brand? Sky-high pricing so it may remain a dream. I also saw my sample of Do Son, and though I decided on Tam Dao as a Diptyque FB, I may say this one is more “me.” I dabbed it on my elbow, so I am in a sweet floral cloud. Really too much but hey it’s FriYAY!
Maybe Do Son will come out in one of those adorable, limited edition 30mL bottles soon?
Yes. That’s what tempted me to the “click” for the Tam Dao. We’ll see! Someone’s getting an Enabler Badge if I do, because my Do Son sample is from NST!
Hello perfume friends! I am so happy it it Friday and that I have had time to catch up on all this week’s comments today. Sending good wishes to you all. And an enabler pin to LTSG for my new FB (so kinda on point for the CP?) as I bought Chanel Allure Sensuelle earlier this week when I finally finished 2 work projects that were so far past their deadlines I thought I may as well give up on both of them. But somehow I finished them both on Tuesday and then rewarded myself with a last-minute dash to the Chanel counter at my favourite department store, where the sales assistant Rahat made it such a special purchase for me with a lovely conversation about favourite perfumes. And Bois de Jasmin has begun blogging again so this week is ending better than I expected. I hope there is some bit of light out there for everyone reading here. Hugs.

I walked into the office this morning a little before 7AM. The only person there said it’s quiet and he was right, until 9AM and boy oh boy … craziness ensued. I was not involved at all but will call myself an interested party. If asked, I have good things to say and I have opportunities to suggest.
