So part 1 of my summer plan was biking, and part 2, in case it wasn't clear, was listening to lots of Bob Dylan. Part 3 is getting up to my sister's lake house, and then getting out on the lake on a paddle board and/or kayak. (I have posted pictures of kayaks and paddle boards here before, probably more than once.) The perfect scent for paddle boarding at the lake is Cutter Lemon Eucalyptus, but today I'm in the even nicer smelling Carthusia Mediterraneo.
Reminder: 5/27 is the start of Memorial Day weekend in the US. On Monday, we'll observe Memorial Day, but for today, we're celebrating the holiday's other meaning, as the unofficial beginning of summer. (In olden times, you could only wear white shoes between Memorial Day and Labor Day.) Wear something that fits your plans for Summer 2022! (If it's winter where you are, adjust accordingly.)

On this day in 2010 I was in the Palais Royal in Paris, where I bought two bell jars, one of which I am wearing today: Fumerie Turque, a delirious golden haze of honeyed tobacco and stewed fruit with little drifts of incensey smoke and vanilla. It’s sublime.

Enjoying Acqua di Parma Gelsomino Nobile today, from a kind NST’ers Freebie Meet share. I did The Hajusuuri-Level Spray, with an extra spritz on my shirt and now I’m in a nice scent bubble. Happily for me, I don’t get much cedar, just musky sweet flowers. Going for some CP points because enjoying my potted jasmine is part of my Summer plans, since it survived another Winter of artificial light. Rain is still with us, but it came and went during the wee hours.

I used some Parma Violet shower gel to start my morning and then a light spritz of Highland Lilac. I over indulged in this one last week and gave myself a headache. It’s surprisingly strong. So today, a half spritz in the air and a walk through lol. Just right.
It’s cold and rainy so I’m also enjoying coffee with cream. Again, just right.

I enjoyed this perfume from a sample that I bought from the site. But I’ve never gone for a bottle. Maybe one day 🙂

AnnE,you asked about the carnation scent I smelled this weekend:it’s a yet unnamed perfume that was sent to me as part of the Niche Perfume club from Wick fragrances.We had to guess the notes,and as a group the club members vote and decide in the final name(sooo much fun!)
It’s a cozy but fresh autumn scent,other notes include Jasmine,Cedar,Patchouli,something they called “Forest rose”,nutmeg and clove.It’s really lovely.

They have some decent cheap thrills but it’s not generally speaking a perfumista-bait brand, if that makes sense!
We are up and at ‘em early today. Heading out into the woods until after memorial day. Made the obligatory stop at Walmart for some last minute items. Was worried about being able to find propane because of the upcoming holiday weekend, but was able to snag a few bottles. This Walmart had to start locking the canisters up because they are a hot ticket item for thieves. 🙄

I debated wearing my new shoes to bed last night, but thought it would do our relationship good to have a little time apart. We greeted each other like long lost lovers this morning! I am currently sporting them with my de rigueur camping clothes of baggy jeans and a flannel. Stylin’!

My goddaughter got married this past Saturday and it was a very beautiful night. It seems like yesterday she and my daughter were little. They are the same age, separated only by seven months. Such special night. I wore Cristalle the night of the wedding also.

Today is a start of my summer vacation (a short one but still). Wearing Volutes EdT – our traditional shared (with my vSO) travel perfume. I made a tiny roll-on bottle that I can take on a plane and apply a little – not to disturb fellow-travelers. Take off in 5 minutes. It’s so strange to see that many people without masks! 🙂

Scent: Solinotes Jasmine from a roll-on. Nice, not remotely challenging, maybe not long-lived on skin. I don’t reach for it often, so don’t remember about longevity . But, I’m pretty dry these days, so maybe a better lotion (or oil?) would help.
Other: I think I head out to shop some annuals for the yard. It’s a good day to plant, since we are going to have rain off an on for the next few days.
I need annuals too, for the hanging baskets.
That’s a great summer plan Robin. I was down at the beach yesterday and it was one of those days when the wind was roaring up from the south and the sand was a whirling haze. The ocean was incredible, frightening really, crashing and foaming from 7 metre swell. There were some little kids with their backs to the wind, getting pushed down the beach and the seagulls were soaring backwards. When I returned to the car my hands were tingling from the cold and my skin felt tight, as if the slack bits had blown away. This day last year I was driving through the pre-dawn dark to the hospital for my sarcoma surgery. It was moonless and black and I can remember the smell of the Avon river and the autumn leaves from the oaks so clearly, and feel the cold frosty air as I walked the last hundred metres to the hospital entrance where everything was lit up but eerily quiet. Anyway, wearing Chypre Mousse and doing okay.

I was up past 1 last night for no good reason and was dragging all day today.
Tired today, despite plenty of sleep. I think I’m getting a bit hit with allergies of late. And it’s raining here and quite blustery. So, I wanted cozy and wore Mon Guerlain Intense. Lovely. Will be working a lot the next few days for Memorial weekend. Town is getting busy, so the market will be busy.
My sister will be heading to Europe this fall for a river cruise. She’ll be in London. I want her to stop in at the Nicolai store. Noticed they have a new scent, Riviera Verbena. That sounds like a good summer breeze.
Ohhh, what about Papillon Perfumery? Also, Lisa Eldridge has opened a pop up store which might be really nice to visit. I think it even has some of her vintage makeup colection. What a dream!

I am currently on the hunt for a sunscreen for my arms. My skin has gotten drier over the past couple of years, and what I used to use isn’t feeling very nice on the skin anymore.

I got an item in the mail (not the Hera) that is supposed to be “Jiji’s Stained Glass Accessory Tree”. What I got was “Kiki’s Stained Glass Accessory Tree”. Methinks it’s counterfeit Jiji so now I need to contact the company, demand that they send me a prepaid shipping label AND refund me the money ASAP. After I do that, I will contact Amex (because I will be asked if I attempted to resolve it directly with the seller) and dispute the charge which I will pay as soon as I get my credit. What a pain in the buttuckus.
