Penhaligon’s Sports Car Club ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 May 2022 4 Comments

Penhaligon’s has launched Sports Car Club, a new limited edition fragrance.

When it’s time to turn on the ignition and fasten your seatbelt, we suggest spritzing on Penhaligon’s Sports Car Club eau de parfum before shifting into first gear. Evoking images of champagne showers and chequered flags, the limited-edition scent from the fragrance powerhouse opens with aromas of pink pepper, essence and Arolle pine, which is balanced with cypress and eucalyptus that takes inspiration from freshly cut grass.

Additional notes include patchouli, patchoulol, ambroxan and musk.

Penhaligon’s Sports Car Club is available at Selfridges in the UK, £152 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

(via selfridges)

Update: Sports Car Club was developed by perfumer Annick Menardo, who notes...

I chose to begin with pink pepper to mimic the fusing speed of a racing car, as it is a very vibrating ingredient. Its spiciness echoes the jubilant nervousness you have before a competition. It gives you this big chill, strengthened by the freshness of the eucalyptus, like a cold breath, while patchouli gives intensity to all these sensations, with its earthy woodiness.

Another ridiculously priced offering from what was once a wonderful company!

I like the bottle design and the colour of the juice. The scent sounds interesting although usually I’m a bit sceptical of Penhaligons latest releases..
