It’s Friday and Christian Dior’s birthday (also, International Sweatpants Day, and Dior can help you with that). Our community project for today: wear a Dior fragrance. (This is a repeat from 2014.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I’m in vintage Diorissimo…Eau de Toilette on one arm and Eau de Cologne on the other. They are blending nicely with the paperwhites on my windowsill…

Earlier in this pandemic era, as I recall, multiple fashion/beauty magazines came out with similar listicles of the best scents to wear for imaginary travel, in the months of lockdown and pre-vaccine isolation. I liked the concept, but couldn’t help noticing a certain sameness about the selected perfumes and the locales they might conjure up: waves on a tropical beach…the flower fields of southern France…the sunlight and citrus trees of the Mediterranean.
For something more “off the beaten path,” in terms of scents and destinations, I’m personally turning to a handful of samples from Scent Trunk…

The latest linen spray from Frédéric Malle: "Following Dans Mon Lit, the first eau de lit for linens, radiating the refined and voluptuous charm of rose, Frédéric Malle brings us Dans Ton Lit, based around the enchanting, clean, sensual fragrance of orange blossom. For this composition Dominique Ropion set out from an enormous quantity of natural raw material, to which he added petigrain, lemon and bergamot, along with a dose of white musk to reinforce the magnetism of the orange blossom. A few sprays on the sheets and pillows, and Dans Ton Lit leads us delicately into the gentlest dreams or caresses…" £85 for 100 ml at Harvey Nichols.
