The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 5 January 2022 6 Comments

It's that time of year when many of us realize we need a new lip balm, right? Glossier's popular Balm Dotcom ("a hydrating lip balm packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish dry, chafed skin—in original or other fun flavors") has a new-ish limited edition flavor, Cookie Butter ("sweet, slightly spiced Speculoos cookies, with a melted caramel tint"). $12 for 15 ml, or get any three flavors (including Cookie Butter, if you like) for $30. At Glossier.

I love the idea of these, but just noting for those who might care that they’re mostly petrolatum — this was a disappointment for me as petroleum-based products are super chapping for my lips.

Oh, thanks — I should have checked the ingredients, although frankly, I don’t even know which things chap my lists. Mostly I buy a new lip balm every year, put it in my purse and forget to use it.

I can highly recommend the DSH “Kisu” lip balm, which smells like neroli, if you need another one to forget in your purse. 🙂

I use these and have had no problem with chapping. Rose is my favorite.
