DS & Durga Grapefruit Generation & Sweet Do Nothing ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 16 September 2021 6 Comments

Indie brand DS & Durga has launched two new fragrances, Grapefruit Generation and Sweet Do Nothing.

Grapefruit Generation ~ "Okay, Boomers. (And Gen X, and Millennials, and Gen Z!) Nothing bridges generational divides like a good grapefruit fragrance. With juicy, sparkling citrus and sheer, refreshing jasmine, Grapefruit Generation effortlessly appeals to all, whether you grew up listening to cassettes or Spotify." With pomelo, elm leaf, silver, hawthorn tuberose, paradisone, cork, grapefruit and animalic musk. DS & Durga Grapefruit Generation is available at Arielle Shoshana, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum ($175). A 100 ($260) ml size can be purchased directly from DS & Durga.

Sweet Do Nothing (not shown) ~ a limited edition for the El Cosmico hotel in Marfa, Texas. (See the brand's first fragrance for El Cosmico here). "At El Cosmico, there is a way to describe the timeless coming together of nomadic friends in the high plains desert of West Texas – “Sweet Do Nothing.” It’s a feeling that can be coaxed, but not forced. Things slow down, landscapes loom large, the far is near. This scent captures that hang – the tuning in among orange blossom, flowering cacti, Texas cedars, fig, and creosote. Timeless hangs, orange blossom special, rock tank swimming, cacti, the life." With neroli, green coyote chola, desert pepper, Texas ever-bearing fig, orange flower, incense, Texas cedar, water musk and creosote. Available at El Cosmico Provision Co, 50 ml Eau de Parfum ($175).

I would love to have a bottle of Sweet Do Nothing, if one happened to drop into my lap. Otherwise, it probably won’t happen. But it sounds intriguing.

I would love to try it! I don’t always end up liking DS&D, but some of them are really wonderful.

That’s the one I’d like to try too, but not up for a $175 blind buy.
