Molton Brown Labdanum Dusk & Neon Amber ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 2 August 2021 8 Comments

Molton Brown has launched Labdanum Dusk, and will introduce Neon Amber this fall.

Labdanum Dusk ~ "London via The Arabian Gulf. The darkest dusk, punctuated with glints of gold from vaulted arabesque arches. A richly perfumed mirage of labdanum, cypriol and oudh headily spirals upwards in mosaic majesty. Wreathes of verdant cedar leaves unfurl; embedded by precious saffron and deep patchouli draped in sublime vanilla. A precious palace of fragrance; indulge in ultimate opulence. Exceptional. Enigmatic. Treasurable." Developed by perfumer Nathalie Koobus. Additional notes include leather and tonka bean. In 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Neon Amber (not shown) ~ Perfumer Jérôme Di Marino developed this 'daring reinvention' of the De Laire base Amber 83. With mandarin, pink pepper, violet leaves, tonka bean, cedar leaves, ambroxan, labdanum and cedar. Neon Amber will be available in Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum.

It’s in the AE now, not sure when it will be elsewhere, but they are already offering samples w/ purchase on the UK website.

“Wreathes of verdant cedar leaves unfurl; embedded by precious saffron and deep patchouli draped in sublime vanilla.” Sublime indeed. ♥️

Not sure about the bottle but I like the colorful orb at the top…seems like I might be conjure something w/ that or see into the future.?

Notes sound great. I wonder how “masculine” it is. Love the bottle in a 30 ml size- might be too imposing in the 100 ml size. I too hope to see the orb concept on a range of bottles…

All of the EDP range use these ‘orb’ lid designs, in different colours/styles (the EDT versions use a plain silver metal orb)

If the orb is anything like the one for Bizarre Brandy, it’s bald as a bowling ball and the interesting facets may just be a reflection of the ceiling. I hope to be able to try these out at some point….
