I did not predict the centaur twist at the end there. 🙂

Honestly I did not predict any of it, other than the abs.

Abs aren’t always guaranteed with AD tho; they put him in maternity pants in Star Wars!

Right, but we know he has them, and this is a fragrance commercial — it was not a long shot!

Swimming with horses is pretty dangerous – if you get ahead of them, they will try to crawl up on you, so he actually deserves a “Hero” designation for having the nerve to do this spot, I would say. Other than that, I just love all the witty people here at NST – this series of comments gave me a belly laugh! I wonder what the perfume smells like – seems to have lost track here somewhere….

      I assume it’s a horsey marine fragrance…

      Vulture outdid us, though:

    1) I watched and participated in the production of films like this in undergrad, so the title of this post is dead on

    2) I….

    3) So what does a centuar smell like, anyways?

I take no credit, the title was stolen from the brand’s blurb at YouTube. It was like they hired a grad student to write it just for my purposes, ya know? In fact, pretty sure I read that paper as a grad student in history.

Adam Driver probably smells amazing all on his own.

      It’s possible.

If it weren’t for the accompanying ‘music’ I’d have thought this was an ad for Hermès.

Hermes does like horses, but they don’t usually get celeb spokesmodels.

    I … wait, what?

I don’t know what to say, except that I suppose it’s theoretically possible that something could induce me to try a fragrance fronted by Emo Kylo Ren, but this “‘Rode hard and put away wet’ is a metaphor, people” whatever-it-is is not that thing.

Based on the reaction on the interwebs, I think you are in the minority?

But reaction aka “buzz” is not sales, and whether getting Adam Driver to sell your fragrance helps as much as it costs, I cannot say.

Oh, no doubt I am. And I really don’t mean to disparage Mr. Driver personally. I’m sure he’s a person of great charm and worth. But I’d be the worst focus group EVER.

The chirpy music seems like a mismatch with the video. I’d bet the same could be said for the fragrance. ?

They seem to be wanting me to think about ‘The Hero’s Journey’ only it’s making me think of Peter Shaffer’s Equus… And that music doesn’t work with either. I’m baffled.
