The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 30 June 2021 12 Comments

Are you up for some whimsy? Jo Malone's latest collaboration is "Up The Garden Path" with artist Shona Heath, featuring ceramic vessels to hold various Jo Malone home fragrance items. My favorite (which is not saying much because this is not really my style) is the Petal Head Candle Holder ("Embrace your candles with a ceramic flower girl, designed by Shona Heath. Handcrafted by renowned artisan producers 1882 Ltd in the UK. Includes a complimentary Home Candle that will fall automatically into your basket at checkout"), £392 (!!), but there's also a Lesser Spotter Zebra Diffuser Cover (£384 / !), a Daisy Cheeks Candle Lid (£98 / !) and a couple other items.

Thank you Robin, crazy expensive and too pastel.

It is easily my least favorite JM project ever, and yes, crazy expensive. But I assume someone will love them.

Love whimsy. Don’t like pastel. I can get a lot of whimsy for $500 elsewhere. Makes that pillow I’ve been eyeing at Jungalow look like a bargain!

If I had $500 to burn on whimsy, I’d hie myself to the Timorous Beasties website…

Wow… I wouldn’t pay $10 for that. But perhaps I’m not the target market. 😉

That bony green hand is just like the one in those Addams Family “Thing” coin banks when I was a kid. A black box with a slot which opened the lid when a coin was inserted. “Thing’s” hand sprung out and snatched the coin. My older sister had one… she had all the cool toys!

That was one of my favorite toys – the way the green hand grabbed the penny!
