Paco Rabanne Phantom ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 29 June 2021 10 Comments

Paco Rabanne will introduce Phantom, a new “futuristic aromatic” fragrance for men, in July.

Phantom was developed by perfumers Loc Dong, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo, with the assistance of artificial intelligence. The notes include lavender, lemon, patchouli, vetiver and vanilla.

Paco Rabanne Phantom will be available in 50, 100 and 150 ml Eau de Toilette. Tapping the top of the larger bottles with a cell phone will allow consumers to access related digital content via an integrated NFC chip; in addition, the 150 ml size will be refillable.

Notes sound like a nice men’s fragrance and rather traditional. I would never ever buy this though noy because it is for men, as I gift my Dad perfume a lot, but because of that bottle.

Ha, whereas the bottle is probably the only reason I would buy it…I love funny bottles, and this one is perfect!

But it may well look cheaply done in person.

AND, I am sure there is a LARGE camp in your corner. Not everyone wants their fragrance bottles to make them laugh 🙂

I love collecting cool bottles but this may look cheap in person. A colleague collects steam punk recycled material robots. Nut Jobz and Metal Souls are two websites with great collections.

Yes, sort of which they’d done it in hard plastic like the Isabela Capeto bottles. Plus, then they could have done fun colors…

Hmmm, do I want my perfume bottle to have digital content? I do like the picture of the bottle, and its notes and looks seem very giftable!

Okay, so there are four perfumers involved, plus artificial intelligence? I’ll sniffs it if I sees it, but I’m thinking….nope. Oh, and I’m not letting my phone get anywhere near it, either.

    Sorry, I guess I’m a little snippy today. ?

I wonder what assistance the artificial intelligence was tasked with delivering. Based on the description of the scent,it sounds likeit crunched sales records of perfumes containing various notes. But Ropion and Flipo certainly know how to develop a fragrance, and the other perfumers seem to have specialized in making trendy scents for celebrity licensors.
Perhaps the public release was written by the robot.

Honestly, I don’t even care about the scent… I just really, really hope that bottle will be available in a mini (it’s adorable!) ?
