I'm in Maison Francis Kurkdjian Pluriel Féminin, from Erin's Top 10 of Spring 2016. (I also mentioned it as an alternate in 5 perfumes: pretty spring florals, and it would work just fine for next Friday's project too.)

I went with Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, a vivid green scent that smells like peridots look, so perfectly springlike. (I mean, it’s snowing here right now, but that can’t last.) I never wear this any time other than spring.

I’m wearing a perfume I made myself 🙂 Lilac & fig leaves is the main heart with a light touch of jasmine, iris, raspberries, purple plums. On a base of dusty incense and amber. Perfect for spring.

Good morning! (Still morning on the East Coast, U.S., anyway!)
*Still* nothing to report perfume-wise — maybe later this afternoon or bedtime I’ll do some Spring fragrance. It’s been a few weeks.
The flower bulbs I planted in October of 2020 are doing their thing. I made a comment on the weekend poll late Sunday night/early Monday morning, but I’ll update.
Where I live, some of the bulbs had a delay in growth because of very cold weather/the ground being very cold/being covered in snow for a few weeks, on and off.
The daffodils are proceeding from mid-season for daffodils into the late-season daffodils starting to bloom. This includes ‘Cheerfulness’ and ‘Yellow Cheerfulness.’ Way back when in the 1990s, I remember a friend of my brother’s who was in a Goth phase being appalled by the name ‘Yellow Cheerfulness’ (LOL!). Oh, well. I like the name. 🙂 The ones from October 2020 all bloomed, and lots came back from the past few years. 🙂
The tulips are starting. The areas where I planted them have hardware cloth around them. I’d like to put chicken wire over those areas, but the chicken wire I got went to other projects, mainly trying to protect lilies and roses from being eaten.
‘Prince of Austria’ is blooming. I’ve already cut two flowers to bring inside. 🙂 That has a lovely fragrance. Also I cut another Florentine tulip, which smells rather like violets.
The lilacs are starting. I brought in a branch that had a panicle (is that the word?) of flowers mostly in bud on it. A number of the buds have opened inside.

Wearing my #1 favorite spring fragrance (and certainly top ten of all time, although sadly discontinued): Shiseido Inoui. It is cool and green but in a mellow and smooth way, never biting or astringent. And the little dash of vanilla in the far drydown is lovely. Happy FriYay, all!

Wearing Avignon and about to get into the shower. I decided that Avignon is not full bottle worthy to my nose and its money saved to me. Not feeling the CP today. After my shower, I think no 5 edt and body products.
I really like Avignon but I didn’t really need a whole bottle either.
I went with Datura Noir for today. It’s not my top favorite but I do really enjoy it this time of year.
Datura Noir is very hit or miss for me; sometimes I really love it, and other times that note of over-ripeness is too much for me.

I am in Teazzurra. But after a second shower I will put some of the most ultimate spring fragrance… Killian’s Imperial Tea. This extremely special perfume to me consists of only two notes: jasmine and green tea. It is so realistic and subtle and delicate…

I’m frozen, although the weather app says we’ll get to 54F today. Went with Diorissimo, one of my all-time faves. Debated on Hermes Muguet Porcelaine, but it’s in a box, and has a melon accord I just don’t love. Maybe after lunch I’ll try to find it and give it another try.
We’re having a typical New England spring – snow one day, 70 degrees the next, followed by rain and a hailstorm, then 50 degrees. No flowers to speak of although the magnolias are blooming. I miss my garden – the condo HOA limits plantings.

Was planning to wear l’eau d’issey, but changed my mind at the last minute to Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow. It is really easy to wear and (probably because I was very into C&E in the early 90s), I associate it with that 10,000 Maniacs song about laying down in a field of wildflowers, overcome with wildflower fever. So, I guess this really the scent of a Spring fantasy than the actual scent of Spring for me, but I think it still counts for CP points.

Yesterday was not a good perfume day. I was in the mood for 31 Rue Cambon as it’s been a while since I’ve worn it (for reasons I now recall) and foolishly sprayed it on in our bedroom where my husband was fast asleep. Thirty minutes later while on Zoom with a very senior member of my co. said husband blazes out up in arms by the “vile” smell in the bedroom. I managed to get through my meeting and hold on to the decant as he requested it be disposed of for good immediately. Clearly some downsides to WFH – haha!
Today I’m treading lightly with a dab of Gourmand Coquin 🙂

I got somewhere with preparing my laptop, including transferring files from my older one. I got a Magic Mouse but I’m feeling that it is not ergonomic as I am more used to puffier / taller mice (or maybe mouses?). We’ll see – I know I can return it. The only downside is that most other mice use a USB port and my laptop comes with zero. I am awaiting a multiport converter so I can use more peripherals.
You could try a mouse that’s blue-tooth enabled if the port peripheral doesn’t work out. So surprised to hear of a laptop with no usb ports – are there thunderbolt ports? There are usb-to-thunderbolt converters too.
Oh, and you smell marvelous, of course!

This laptop had 2 Thunderbolt ports although some of the peripherals that work with it use USB. That said, I finally got my 4 USB port contraption so hopefully I’m good to go. It’s a big difference between this and my older one which had 4 USB ports and a few other ports built in!

SOTD: Forgot about the CP; sprayed on Atelier Lemon Island. Immediately recalled CP; sprayed on AG Le Chevrefeuille on the other arm. So I smell marginally confused. Le Chevrefeuille is winning in the sillage race, but I probably applied more of it.

SotD = Prada Infusion d’Amande
I love spring and I love this perfume Been lemming a bottle since first sniff. Have held off, and my decant is not empty, so that’s a win for self-control.
For me some perfumes have “weight” and “color” or “pitch” (as in frequency) that are instantly recognizable to my nose. Amande is an airy and sheer purple (likely because I’m recalling the color of the bottle cap) and rings my bell at something like high C. 😀

I started rhe day in ac Bois Blonds layered over Clean Reserve Skin and that went well but this evening for the cp I am in Yves Rocher En Avril un soir, an iris chypre, month-appropriate too.
Can you describe the Clean Skin? Is it soapy?
Most of my perfume is packed in a moving box, save for a fistful of samples and some trusty decants in case those fail me. Coming to the last few drops of Le Parfum de Therese, which might just be in my top 10 for real but I haven’t sprung for a bottle yet.

Whew, what a week! I’m so glad it’s over–now I have three days off in a row. My job interview on Wednesday went pretty well I think, but I won’t hear anything for a month at least.
I’m trying my sample of Harmonist Royal Earth from the lovely Hajusuuri. Ooh, this one’s interesting! Green and dirty. I like it! I guess it’s kinda spring-like, so half a point for me.

House twins — I’m in an Hermessence today.
It’s rare that I wear the same fragrance two days in a row, but with today’s cp immediately following Earth Day, I felt compelled to. Green, galbanum, and/or patchouli are the notes of my favorite spring scents and Dame Perfumery Earth Mother has them all, along with a bit of lemon for brightness and overlaid with a light blanket of warm caramel for a comforting hug from Mother Nature to ward off the early spring chill.
We had the most glorious Earth Day I can remember: temps near 60, clear blue skies, bright sunshine and so much in bloom! Due to the cooler temps, the forsythia has been blooming for 3 weeks now; the deep pink of my redbud blooms have never been more vivid, and the soft pink blossoms of my beloved Korean Spice Viburnum have fully opened and I swoon from the beauty of their fragrance. Add to this bulbs blooming and birds, birds, birds singing and chirping and nesting everywhere competing for attention.
The Native American belief that although the Great Spirit is our father, the Earth is our Mother who nourishes us and heals us when we are wounded resonates strongly with me, and Dame’s Earth Mother echoes that feeling for me, especially during the early days of the growing season. It’s just perfect!

I’m very excited! I got an email yesterday advising that some of the Fort and Manle perfumes are now available in New Zealand. I’ve been able to get them from the US and Australia, but postage is horrendous – a moderately expensive perfume becomes a much more costly item if I have to add US$55 postage. I’ll visit my local perfumery this morning to see if they have them in the shop, I’d prefer to buy there than from their online shop.
So, perfume-free so far in hopeful anticipation 🙂

I’m in a dab of my mom’s vintage Diorissimo. It’s gorgeous and smells like I remember from when I was a teenage. I would sniff this very same miniature bottle oh so many years ago. She never wears perfume anymore and I’m tempted to take this with me, but I think I’ll just leave it here and enjoy it when I come visit.

Feeling sad and downcast, so I spritzed some vanilla Tihota this morning. Today is supposed to be the last day of quarantine, but we still cannot go out until the third Covid test results come back. Plus, BC has now instituted new travel restrictions for the next 5 weeks so just when we need to be exploring to find a new home, we’re told to stay home. 🙁 I am regretting my move and wishing I had stayed in San Diego until this (expletive deleted) pandemic is over.

Yes, it could, but since we have Quebec plates on the car, we are a huge target, not only for being stopped by the police but by vandals who would damage our car. There have been several incidents including one last week of people having their cars keyed and nasty notes left when they have out of province plates. We have a registration appointment Monday, hoping they will be able to give us a new plate on the spot and not wait weeks for it to come in the mail.
This is just plain not right!
And I always thought that Canadians were “nice”!

Oh, BOO! I’m so sorry to hear that you are now stuck with lockdown after your isolation period. That sucks.
Aargh! How infuriating! I was kind of shocked, but shouldn’t have been, when I read about not being able to have church services. I may be reading the “wrong” newspapers but have not heard one word about a protest or a challenge regarding that other than my brother-in-law who said that one pastor defied the orders and landed in jail!
There have been a couple of incidents, both in Alberta I think. In one case it was a Polish priest (who is no doubt familiar with repressive governments) who yelled at a group of police that came in to his church to get out. Another incident was a protest at a church that had been fenced off by the government because they were holding « illegal » services (possibly too many attendees, not adequately distanced, etc.).

SOTD = L’Eau de Chloe EdT. Between the pretty green juice in the bottle, and the delicate green scent on my skin, this is perfect for Spring.

Nice photo again, Robin. Coincidentally, I took photos this morning of a baby bluejay on a little tree outside my house. I could hear bluejays screaming and scolding and looked out to see two of them dive-bombing one of my cats. So I went out and a neighbor girl was also out and she pointed to the baby in the tree. Meanwhile the adult jays were buzzing over our heads! I’ll post pix on IG later. I checked later and it was gone, so I hope it’s still safe (and I brought my cat in).
I’m wearing Kurkdjian APOM for the CP because it’s such a light and fresh orange blossom. Seems quite springy to me. I’d have loved to wear something with gardenia but couldn’t find one. It’s my favorite scent of spring around here, but sadly, most of the gardenias got blasted in our horrible freeze and just aren’t blooming this year.
The bluejays can be so aggressive! They dive bomb Maggie this time of year, too. She’s more interested in the squirrels, though.

I needed to “lounge about” today.
It’s cool and windy again here. This morning I wore TF Violet Blonde and later sprayed Nuit de Tuberose by L’artisan. I wasn’t feeling either one. I’m on lunch now and about to spray vintage Dior Addict from the purse stash. Always fabulous even in the spring!?????

TF Violet Blonde was the first perfume I encountered that demonstrated just how a person’s skin chemistry can affect what it is that you are smelling. Of course, on the friend I was with it smelled much better than it did on me!
I hate skin chemistry! Everything smells better on my daughter to me. She still has young happy chemistry, mine is old and cranky ?

I do love the image, Robin!! I had to reapply my Imperial Tea after about 5 hours, I put to sprays on my neck and it has lingered in my hair… Occasionally I get a delicious whiff of it here and there. Honestly looking at the beautiful, delicate and serene image Robin has chosen for this post – it reminds me of the spring-like vibe Imperial Tea gives me!!

I thunked my decant of Arielle Saturday, yay! Also wore La Chasse Aux Papillons, and I’m sorry to say that I just don’t care for it. Probably alone in this feeling.
Woke up this morning very anxious after a dream. I dreamt I was still at my old job, but could not find my productivity unit when I arrived. It wasn’t in the locked storage cabinet, nor in any of the other cabinets I looked in, and no one seemed to be able to help me. It felt like those dreams where you accidentally miss the final exam! Aaack!
I don’t even know what a productivity unit is! That said, dreaming and remembering it is good for the noggin.
Is that true? I remember dreams all the way back to childhood. It makes me crazy sometimes.

No, I don’t love it. I try it again from time to time when Robin or someone else posts so happily about it. It seems pretty enough but it seems to exist apart from me when I wear it. I think it is just not “me.”
That’s an interesting way to put it, but I totally get it! Some perfumes never seem to sit well.

Super late, but wanted to chime in on the CP. Wearing SL Bas de Soie. Hyacinths and irises are two of my favorite spring flowers.
Best spring vanilla–Angelique Noire for the green opening.

I’ve never smelled either of these, but Bas de Soie sounds like one I may like. Adding it to the list for my post-pandemic perfume journey. How prominent is the hyacinth vs. the Iris? I love hyacinth but it quickly becomes overpowering to my nose, at least when it’s a living plant.
They are roughly equivalent. The hyacinth is noticeable, but not overpowering or cloying.
Joining the late-posters club after a non-stop day of work. In Violetta. It stopped snowing and sleeting here and spring returned with sunshine and mild temperatures, so I had a good walk after work. And now am looking forward to SLEEP. A good, fragrant night to all!
