The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 22 April 2021 10 Comments

From Otherland's new Garden Party collection, Verdant Verve: "Past the old stone walls bathed in ivy and moss lies a childhood fantasy seen with fresh eyes: our take on a secret garden. Get ready to hop the gate and fall headfirst into the dreamy, diaphanous soirée within." With neroli blossom, oakmoss and thyme, $36 for 277g. (And, the Spring Awakening collection Kevin wrote about in 2019 is back in stock.)

Couldn’t we all use a dreamy, diaphanous soiree about now?
This sounds lovely and is attractive to boot.

I’ve had very good luck with Overland candles. They scent a room, they are a good price point for the quality and the scents themselves are really nice. I’ve bought quite a few over the years, including the ones Kevin wrote about and their fabulous winter scents.
You MUST keep the wicks trimmed on these, otherwise they sputter and flare up.

Good to know. They been bombarding me with Instagram ads as soon as I bought some Siblings candles (which I really like).

I knew I wanted this candle as soon as the garden party line was announced. I’m planning on a 3 pack but haven’t made my mind up yet about the other two I’ll buy. From the garden party collection, I’m curious about the daffodil/melon and the violet/lavender/jasmine tea. Also considering Canopy or Chandelier from the core collection. I’ve smelled them via their “samples” of sniffable coasters.

I have Chandelier and it’s wonderful! A very soft scent, even though it has leather.

Thanks for weighing in! I’m having a hard time choosing between it and Canopy, though I’m leaning towards Canopy since it’s fig and greens. Seems seasonally appropriate. But I still want Chandelier at some point.
