The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 19 April 2021 8 Comments

Another foody body scrub: Cocoa Cinnamon Dual Exfoliant from Pacifica. "Treat rough, bumpy skin with something pretty sweet. Our Cocoa Cinnamon Dual Exfoliant, with skin-loving cocoa seed butter, cinnamon, and plant oils, helps hydrate skin and improve its texture. Cocoa seed butter is antioxidant-rich, highly moisturizing and supports softer skin. Cinnamon helps remove dead skin cells and soothes dry skin to reveal smoother texture. When your skin starts to feel a little dry or look scaly, love on your skin with this gentle exfoliant. Don't forget to moisturize afterwards." $14 for 170g.

Has Pacifica pretty much switched over to skincare only? No longer seeing any of their perfumes…

They are still doing fragrance, but in a different vein than they used to:

I have no idea if they’re good these days. The new age-y marketing just isn’t appealing to me.

I’ve smelled a couple. Honestly I don’t have the slightest clue as to which ones as they have annoyingly similar names. I wasn’t impressed at all, even for the price. I liked many of their past fragrances and was extremely disappointed to see them go away. These new ones do not fill the niche.
☹️for Indian Coconut Nectar and Tibetan Mountain Temple!

Yes, they really seem to have changed. It would not surprise me if they’re doing fine, but they are not generally perfumista bait these days.

Thanks! I’ve been parsing out my solid perfume version to make it last. I thought they’d discontinued ICN. It’s a cheap lovely summer scent.

Am I the only one who feels like exfoliating with cinnamon would burn?

Maybe they don’t mean the cinnamon is actually the exfoliant, but it’s pretty ambiguously worded and all my brain can think is “ouch.”

It could — it’s definitely an irritant / allergen for some people. Would be surprised if it’s in really heavy concentration.
