Ok, which one of you will buy this first? A reissue of a 1952 collector bottle inspired by Christian Dior's dog, Bobby, originally created for Miss Dior and now containing the more modern and (insert adjective of your choice) 2021 version of Miss Dior Blooming, the frosted flacon was created by Waltersperger and sports a bow by Safrane. €450; 3000 bottles were made. Tuesday scent of the day 1/12

It’s Tuesday and National Marzipan Day. (Also, Raf Simons‘ birthday.) What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m not quite in marzipan, but I can claim the thread of bitter almond in Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto.

Reminder: on 1/15, wear a fragrance to match Ultimate Gray and/or Illuminating, Pantone’s colors of the year for 2021…

Vile and sickening

The suit says the offensive odors are a byproduct of the factory’s manufacturing process, which strips fouls-smelling sulfur compounds from crude sulfate turpentine. The end result is a product that can be used for everything from sweet smelling candles to plug-in air freshers. But the extracted sulfur odor is “vile and sickening,” according to the lawsuit --- and as anyone who has smelled it can attest.

Chanel Le Lion de Chanel ~ fragrance review

In my mind’s eye, it went down like this: “Amber? You want us to develop an Exclusif focused on amber?” I picture four or five people around an ebony table in a taupe-tinted room with black moldings — the board room version of a Chanel suit.

“You did it with patchouli,” the executive says. “No one smells Coromandel and thinks of Woodstock.”

“Not at that price,” the intern mutters…
