Posted by Robin on 5 January 2021 4 Comments

The ultimate device is nowhere near ready, Duerinck acknowledges – its current size and battery life are hurdles, as is the quality of the scent and the projection. But he remains optimistic.

One of my most prized possessions is my Odorama card from the film Polyester! A classic John Waters film that used this card to highlight smells in the film. There are 10 scratch-n-sniff dots on the card that corresponded to points during the film. A small number would appear on the screen and the audience would scratch the matching number.
Some of the smells are pleasant, like roses, and some are NOT, like a fart! It’s pure Waters.
My card is lightly scratched but still usable if I was so inclined?

I remember going to see it and cringing when things came on the screen, hoping like hell a flashing number didn’t appear in the corner! So cool that you kept your card!
