Where that smell was coming from

Yet even though scientists knew where that smell was coming from, they didn't know the answer to another basic question: why make it? A team of British, Hungarian, and Swedish scientists investigated this question recently, publishing their findings this month in Nature Microbiology.

Postcards from closed gardens: 1) A lovely short video from the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá (‘While you stay at home, there is a Garden renewing itself for the city’), then below the jump, we have 2) footage from the 2nd of April at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, followed by 3) Sally Petitt leading an 8 minute “wellness walk” around the Mediterranean Beds at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, then 4) Steve Wright shows off the blooming rhododendrons at the Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens in Devon, Pennsylvania.
