The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 31 December 2020 5 Comments

You either want one, or, like me, you really don't, but either way it's a bargain at $13. The Oreo Cookie candle: "Get a whiff of Milk's Favorite Cookie! If you've ever wanted to trick your guests into thinking they just stumbled onto a tour of the Oreo factory, our deliciously-scented Oreo candle is exactly what you need! We suggest accompanying the scent with a few sleeves of Oreos for that full 360 experience." At the Oreo Gift Store, where what I really want (but need like a hole in the head) is the "OREO Cookie Embossed Faux Leather Tote", $30. (found via Thrillist)

Not to sound like a Scrooge, but I’ve never understood the cookie-in-milk thing. You end up with soggy cookies and crumby milk.

The key is to dunk them for just the right amount of time so that the cookie absorbs some milk, but not enough to become soggy. You also need to eat it immediately after dunking, so that it doesn’t have time to become soggy. Not all cookies lend themselves to it. I don’t always dunk my cookies in milk, but I nearly always drink milk, rather than another beverage, when eating certain types of cookies. Oreos are one such type, as are chocolate chip cookies. The thought of drinking tea or coffee or soda or wine or beer with them just seems wrong.

My DH also thinks c-i-m is yucky but I love it. CobraRose, you’ve probably seen those Nabisco Chocolate wafers that are sold near ice cream toppings in many stores. And also, you may notice the recipe on that box for making a cake roll by layering and covering the cookies with whipped cream and letting it rest so the cookies soften. This could be your gateway to dunking. 😀

Well that tote bag is fun – dare we hope it unzips to all white inside? Also funny how vinyl has now been up-marketed to “vegan leather.”

Yes, should definitely unzip to white!
