5 from Zara Emotions Collection by Jo Loves ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 1 December 2020 4 Comments

Jo Malone's Jo Loves brand has added 5 new fragrances to its collaboration with Spanish retailer Zara, the Zara Emotions Collection by Jo Loves. Cherry Watermelon Ice, Hip Hop Red Apple and Rose Marshmallow Candy are geared towards children. The Golden Lullaby and Le Petit Lullaby are intended as a mother-baby pair.

Cherry Watermelon Ice ~ Fruity, with watermelon, cardamom and green leaves. “Beach parties and best friends – heaven scent”. — Jo Malone

Hip Hop Red Apple ~ Fruity, with apples and "fruits of the forest". “Dancing away with cartwheels and laughter”. — Jo Malone

Rose Marshmallow Candy (shown) ~ Fruity, with marshmallow, blood orange and vanilla. “Like bouncing on a trampoline of roses and happiness”. — Jo Malone

The Golden Lullaby & Le Petit Lullaby ~ Both fragrances feature pear and musk; The Golden Lullaby also has ambrox. “When your baby is placed into your arms for the first time there is an amazing connection. A lullaby is something so intimate between a mother and her baby and the soothing voice of their mother makes a baby feel safe and secure. A lullaby is all about musical notes and fragrance is all about fragrant notes and the different accords’’. — Jo Malone.

Zara Emotions Cherry Watermelon Ice, Hip Hop Red Apple and Rose Marshmallow Candy are $20 each for 40 ml Eau de Toilette. A coffret with 90 ml of The Golden Lullaby (Eau de Parfum) and 40 ml of Le Petit Lullaby (Eau de Cologne) is $50.

If the scents are anywhere as good as the names I want the first 3. Sound much more exciting than the first Jo-Zara collab.

They’re geared towards kids, so suspect they are not perfumista bait? But I was also taken with the idea of Rose Marshmallow Candy 🙂

I’m not sure if I’m 1) old enough to accept that my taste is pretty juvenile or if 2) I’m having a midlife crisis that is causing me to like kiddie items 😀 Whichever way it is, Hip Hop Red Apple sounds more dynamic and fun to me than Fleur de Oranger and Tubereuse Noir sounds decidedly dull next to Cherry Watermelon Ice. And yeah – I’m always going to reach for Rose Marshmallow Candy before Waterlily Tea Dress…
