The (almost) daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 20 November 2020 11 Comments

Pricy but tempting: "Wake up! SALT + Café Kumquat Body Scrub is simply delicious for your skin. You'll fall in love with its calming yet invigorating exfoliation. Natural sea and mineral salts join ground coffee in a rich blend of avocado and safflower oil. Skin appears moisturized, revived and softened. Excellent for providing a smoother skin appearance." $42 for 344g at Bergdorf Goodman.

There MUST be someone here who has an easy-peasy salt&coffee body scrub recipe…?

Probably, but it isn’t me 🙂

Oh yes, this is so easy to make; I always have an extra jar at hand.

I don’t follow any recipe in particular. I just grind coffee beans and mix with rape seed oil, sugar or salt, and a teaspoon vanilla powder (optional). The scent is really yummy!

Yeah, there’s a few online recipes. I re-used ground coffee by drying it in the oven, added salt, sugar, vanilla extract and coconut oil. I decided to add some vetiver EO and unfortunately added too much. The first half of the jar was lovely but I’m finding the vetiver a bit too strong in the bottom.

Ah, that sounds good to me though.

Pleasure AnnieA! I don’t remember the exact proportions but if you google a bit you should find the recipe. I forgot to actually save it!

Robin, I used it daily for a week so maybe I just need a vetiver break! Some days I don’t feel like any strong scents in the shower…

        Same with shower scents!

I think maybe Koyel has made something like this. She’d be a good person to ask.
