Imaginary Authors + Salt & Straw A Whiff of Waffle Cone ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 November 2020 20 Comments

Portland-based ice cream company Salt & Straw has launched A Whiff of Waffle Cone, a new fragrance made in collaboration with indie brand Imaginary Authors.

A provocative and transportive unisex perfume created with our friends at Imaginary Authors. Notes of Vanilla, Heavy Cream, and Salted Caramel, with accords of Amyris, Orgeat,* and Saigon Cinnamon will have you believing you’re indulging in the delicate crunch of a house made waffle cone. With a decadent complexity and warmth, this fragrance will rouse memories of sweeter times with a deliciously crafted scent you’ll want to wear even more than you’ll want to eat.

Salt & Straw A Whiff of Waffle Cone is available in 14 ($28) or 50 ($65), concentration unknown. A matching candle is $30.

(via saltandstraw, found via timeout)

* Almond syrup, sometimes scented with rosewater or orange blossom water.

OMG. I love Salt & Straw. And gourmand scents. And that 14mL travel spray is practically free, right?? I…think I might have to get this?!

Oh me too. Favorite flavor was vanilla ice cream with a basil granita swirl. The different textures and the play of basil was really fabulous.

Yes, practically free, I’d go for it!

Be sure and report what you think about it, Koyel! I am a fan of IA but this sounds pretty sweet for me.

It’s sweet, but like caramel, not vanilla cupcake.

I am really tempted. Need to figure out what they’re charging to ship the small one.

Unfortunately $10 shipping on the 14ml spray too. 🙁

Oh, my word, I love Salt & Straw. This sounds rather lovely and comforting – that cinnamon could take it “sweet, but not overly sweet” territory.

I am sure I would love Salt & Straw if only there was one in my town 🙂

Same! (If I remember right, we’re in roughly the same area.) I’m just holding on to the memories of being able to travel out to Portland to visit friends. Someday I’ll get to do that again 🙂

I’m a fan of Salt & Straw – mostly. My favorite flavor is the goat cheese with a swirl of marionberry, which sounds odd, but is incredible. They try to incorporate local products and have really interesting flavor choices. However, they are also super expensive and have long lines almost all the time. We have one within walking distance (1.5 miles away) but don’t go very often.

That said, the fragrance is a really fun idea and I’ll try to check it out.

Flat shipping fee of $10 for each item. :-(. I need to call my local store to see if they are selling it there.

Okay, in the interest of science 🙂 I went to my local Salt & Straw, and they have all the products available in store! I am smelling it right now: it opens with a burnt sugar smell that is borderline smoky, oddly enough. It is reminding me of Kerosene Winter of 99 a bit. I definitely smell the salted caramel and cinnamon. For me it’s a winner. 🙂

Well drat, that sounds wonderful. I guess I should just pay the $10?? Did you buy the candle?
