Lazy weekend poll ~ open thread, mid-August 2020

Posted by Robin on 15 August 2020 312 Comments

Saturday is National Relaxation Day, conveniently enough. We're relaxing with our usual open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, your most relaxing fragrance, whatever.

Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

    Yay for the weekend!
My parents came back from their week at the seaside this afternoon.
It’s another hot day in my area so I’m refreshing myself with occasional spritzes of Yuja by Jo Malone. It’s a lovely yuzu scent but I wish it’s best part – bitter and zesty – was extended for the already short life span of this cologne…
I think temperature will drop nicely below 30*C soon.

It was not too bad here. I ended up taking a walk to the mall and back.

Downright cool here! We actually have windows open.

Lucasai, that sounds like every Jo Malone ever: great for 20 minutes.

I too think JM’s are too little for too much. But I like Youth Dew, (and hot weather) sooo….but I like yuzu scent, and I’m glad you have something cool to spritz, lucasai! Our weather is hot, slightly humid, but having mild breezes that really make it perfect. I’ve been talking up the late summer bug sounds – I think most people would enjoy them if they try to notice them. They give me a sense of peace, changing gradually from different types as the day goes on.

I think I’d chose any of my Atelier Cologne over Jo Malone. But those JM can be nice sometimes.

I’m spending today indoors being grateful for AC (so sorry Californians without power!) and watching – what else – old movies. I watched Katherine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster in The Rainmaker recently and it was so good that I’m going to watch it again. I’m glad to know that I can say I’m celebrating National Relaxation Day instead of just being my usual lazy self. Sotd after a shower will be the last of my decant of Encens et Lavande. Yesterday I thunked Nicolai Vanille Tonka. Sniffle, these thunks kind of make me sad.

I must watch that one because I am a huge Burt Lancaster fan. (Swoon.) I assume you have seen From Here to Eternity but if not, RUN don’t walk to do so!! That beach love scene is one of the hottest ever on film!

Yes, that’s an excellent movie although I have read that condions weren’t ideal shooting that scene and everything, like the crew and equipment, was wet and covered in sand by the time they got the take. Imho Burt is more vulnerable and therefore sexier in Rainmaker.

Oh I am so glad it’s Saturday. Slept so badly and have some hives breaking out. Bleech.
My purchase of Eve was supposed to be delivered last night to wear today, but the USPS is behind as we know.
I hate thinking about it being in hot vehicle to get here although this is clearly not a world issue.
Going to get an outside mani pedi today and pick up two things from Nordstrom sale.
SOTD something cool and fresh Paris Deauville I think

Sends sympathy re: delivery! Sure it’s not “foundational” but I, not saying you would, always struggle not to imagine my little perfume stewing away, perhaps seeping out….so silly. I usually have to “push my reset button” with some more active pass-time 🙂 Hope you have time for a nap after your postal person gets there!

It’s here!’my bottle of Eve is here with samples of Gardner’s Glove.
Having mani pedi outside was nice.
It’s super hot here but a little cooler where I near the water than some spots sobering outside under umbrella looking out towards Catalina was relaxing

Already been out to get the week’s groceries, got the fridge and freezer defrosted, and it is time to unwind and have a weekend. Feeling very relaxed in the 2005 relaunch of Guerlain Vega, which is in fact what you would get if Chanel No. 5 and Paco Rabanne Pour Homme had a baby: first it’s all aldehydes all the time, then an herbal fougère, then flowers, then an oriental base…. It’s confusing, which I assume is why they discontinued it, but it’s also weirdly terrific.

Yesterday afternoon, post-gym shower I wore BG body cream layered under Shalimar Creamsicle, and I smelled so cheerful and tropical! Might have to do the same post-run shower this morning.

I’m considering driving off into the country today in search of local fruit and corn. I would love some tree-ripened peaches, plums (although maybe it’s too early) and fresh corn (also likely too early, but I’ve seen a few fields that look promising). I would happily buy a several dozen ears of corn to cook, sheer and freeze for fresh corn wonderfulness mid-winter.

Huh, interesting that it’s too early for corn out there. Here we say “knee high by the 4th of July” and figure it’s ready around the end of July. When is your season?
Agree, local produce is the best!

I’m not sure what the official window is, but the fields I’m driving by are just getting tassels right now. Neighbors who grow veggies in their front yards have very small ears, so my guess is they’re still a few weeks away from harvest.

        Hope I can find some!

We have had great corn for a few weeks now, at least. Peaches even longer…which may be because my husband looked for peaches earlier than he looked for corn.

I’m on point with relaxation day! Kicked back on the sofa thinking of things I need to do, but without any type of plan to actually do those things.

Had a lovely paddle yesterday with an old friend. Got some sun, a wee bit of exercise, and most importantly, quality time with a lovely person. I seriously needed a change of scenery.

I’m still in last nights scent- SL Cuir Mauresque. May switch it up, but then again, maybe I won’t because I smell just right.

Happy weekend to all! Stay cool…?❄️

I’m back in this year’s summer favorite: Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille. Besides housework, I think I’ll walk to various stores for the exercise to get shrimp and bread and slaw, etc. to make a version of a po’boy for the family dinner.

Supposed to reach 96 tomorrow in Seattle and that’s pretty warm for here and no AC for a lot of us. Tomorrow can be my lazy day.

House twins! I’m in Nuit Etoilee and staying in the AC today since it’ll be 107 F today.
I’m so glad not to be at work today. My unit is on the old/west side of the hospital and our old AC units can’t keep up in this weather: makes both nurses and patients feel miserable.
Have a great lazy day tomorrow!

I’m really not looking forward to tomorrow’s heat! We do have a clunky floor a/c unit that my aunt and uncle don’t need anymore since they installed central air last summer. If I owned instead of rented, I’d do the same thing! The clunky unit is a real pain in the butt to install and very loud.

I hope you can find a way to keep cool! I also hope you had a nice walk. Your dinner tonight sounds delicious. My boyfriend and I took a 4 mile walk this afternoon. Went down to Eastlake to Lake Union and got in lots of stairs and uphill along the way. It was a lovely time, especially when in the shade.

SOTD vintage Chamade edt – just got it and it smells wonderful. It was a blind buy, a tester bottle with the Somers, NY label. I also have a micro mini of the heart bottle on the way. It has a little darkened dab of parfum, but for <$10 I thought it'd look nice with my few "collectable" minis. Must admit, though, that I don't have a very good scheme to display said minis!

RL Safari, EL Beautiful, Balmain Ivoire, and I think Avon Imperial Garden, all in the older versions, have the thread of what I think of as galbanum. I like Chanel No. 19, too. I checked some others and Fragrantica just has “green” notes listed. Free associating here, but I think sometimes carnation with civet or castoreum might give me an impression of galbanum. I’ll have to pay more attention. Anyway, Chamade is a delight.

I highly recommend a cheese plate with a dome glass cover, like a very small cake plate. I do this in my dim bedroom – the dome is clear so I can see the pretty little bottles and they don’t get dusty because of the cover.

SOTD = two conservative squirts from my new bottle of Killian Amber Oud. Love this scent, and since I smeared those two spritzes all over my arms and neck, it is enough for the heat, but not overwhelming…as always I get sweet amber and very little oud….compared to the Memo Sham’s Oud which is a big traditional oud bomb. Wearing mauve, taupe and ivory in the form of Keen hiking sandles, (the taupe), dusty mauve joggers with zippered pockets, which look cute, but are some technical fabric so they are sweaty and itchy and every time I wear them I think i should get rid of them, but when I take them off, then the color is perfect to go with this pink spaced dyed tunic sweater which i just love, so then I wash them for one more round, the perfect shopping outfit. Such a weenie.

Big pet peeve of mine – that so many technical fabrics (I’m looking at you, Title 9, Athleta, etc.), are in fact way too hot to really wear a lot of the time, at least where I live. But if the color is perfect….

Yes, exactly. People do wear those items, or at least want to wear them outside of air conditioned gyms… but in the case of these joggers, the color is truly perfect. Sigh.

I made an REI employee super uncomfortable once whilst returning some hiking pants a few years ago. I bought them right before a backpacking trip down in the redwoods–muggy and humid in August in the deep forest! I returned the pants afterwards because I was dripping with sweat from my bottom the whole time. Awful. He asked me why I was returning them, and I told him. ?

Should clarify that this does relate to the conversation above–the fabric was not nearly as breathable as I needed it to be! (Sorry if my comment just seemed like a gross non-sequitur!)

      • Birdy16 says:

Technical fabrics are also a big pet peeve of mine. I know cotton blends supposedly don’t wick away sweat as well, but I usually find them more comfortable. Of course they are rarely opaque enough for squats at the gym or yoga classes (not that I’m doing either of those things right now).

Another gorgeous photo of flowers on a wall today, Robin! I forgot to say yesterday that I think I have photographed the scene in Córdoba that you used yesterday. It’s a pretty famous wall or courtyard there. So gorgeous, really all over that part of Spain.

Hello, I hope everyone is well! Between the pandemic and new motherhood, it’s been a while since I wore perfume regularly.

Recently I had fun picking free samples while ordering tea from Luckyscent, and a small dab of Bortnikoff – Musk Khabib made me so happy I had to come here to say hi. Creamy musk, ylang and vanilla atop many woodsy notes. It’s light and beautiful 🙂

SOTD = Van Cleef and Arpels Rose Rouge

I’m starting the Captured Unicorn CP today. I got a lemming for this as soon as I finished reading Lucas’ review October 2018. Inexplicably, Bergdorfs did not have this available for at least a year. I finally found it at a very good price at an online discounter and got my large sample – W00t!

Last call for U.S. peeps interested in a split of Chanel Les Exclusifs Le Lion. I have an opportunity to purchase a 200mL bottle at cost (+shipping from the U.S.) and will order it if I have enough interest for 150mLs. So far, we’re up to 75mLs and some have mentioned doubling their request (but so far I’ve only captured the lower amount). We are halfway there. If I get interest for another 40 mLs, I will place the order. There is no guarantee I’ll get it so no payment until I have the bottle. For reference, the cost including shipping and new packaging materials: $15-$16 for 5mLs or $25-$27 for 10mLs. Please email me by end of day today, Saturday 15 August, with subject Chanel Le Lion Split and let me know how many mLs.

I’ll save my mall rant for another post!

We are having a beautiful day today, Warm, sunny, breezy with low humidity. I am back from a walk in the park with my doggie and I am almost on my way out to run errands. My sisters are coming over with my in-laws and the children for dinner tonight. Mom is not doing good, so I hope she cheers up having all of us around for a couple of hours.

Wearing Chanel Cristalle EdT, which always puts a smile on my face. A summer favorite! Just few sprays left on my full bottle, so it will be a big thunk next time I wear it.

Hope you all have a healthy and wonderful weekend! ?

Perfect! Restaurants are so set up for take out nowadays! We had so many good memories of favorite dishes with my dear parents, who are gone now. I sadly did not live near them, so on visits we would get all the favorite treats, light the candles, and do it up right! Dad loved to wear a jacket even 🙂

I love family reunions where everybody brings traditional dishes. My dad, like yours, used to dress up and he was the one who enjoyed the gathetings the most. He is gone now, but usually for the main holidays we always cook a couple of his favorite dishes. That way we remember him in a more special way. ❤

SOTD is Mauboussin, a blind bargain buy from several years ago that I just found in the back of the perfume cabinet. Big opening, very spicy oriental, reminds me somewhat of the other blind bargain buy from the same house – Histoire d’Eau – but with more vanilla and less leather.

FWIW I’ve also refilled my thunked Atelier Cologne bottle of Vanilla Insensée with hand sanitizer, and those last lingering drops the atomizer couldn’t catch worked great in there! So if you have any empties and some generic sanitizer, that’s a possible route!

Hi folks! On my lunch and trying to type a post a story that will make sense, and have been unsuccessful. So I will just say this… one of the old timer employees who is always a sourpuss buttinski, tried to get my son in trouble for not stocking correctly. Now… he is still training and I welcome positive feedback but this wasn’t his agenda. I wanted to smack this guy upside the head. I decided to take my lunch instead.
    Thanks for listening!

I can only imagine Mr. Crankypants is taking his stress/unhappiness out on others (for whatever reason).
I had a coworker like that, and after several comments, I learned to either ignore it or have a kind response to take the wind out of his sails. It eventually toned down.

….and I bought a new bottle at Bevmo. I don’t know much about rum at all so hopefully I made a decent choice. Straight up, it is not really a nice flavor in my opinion. Nice to see a few fellow rum lovers! I like rum & coke or cuba libre also but the caffeine in the coke makes it tricky to have it in the evening.

Great variation on thunking! My husband and one daughter and I thunked a bottle of Prosecco last night, mostly via Aperol spritzes. That is now the drink I associate with vacations in warm weather!

What i did on my holidays in the morning for shopping and a short bike ride to our garden. Coriandre after shower plus a walk to a beer garden to listen to a local jazz singer while drinking some beer. Now relaxing on the balcony with a glass of Ricard.

Hi all, supposed to be in the 80’s in San Francisco today. I chose Guerlain’s Mandarine Basilic for today’s SOTD – it’s already warm and the citrus smells so juicy and mouth watering.

I am not feeling 100% so I was in bed most of yesterday and finished The Iron Flower Witch series by Laurie Frost (pretty good!), Fledgling by Octavia Butler (didn’t like it as much as Kindred, there is a trigger in the beginning of the book I found difficult to get beyond), and book #2 of Curse of Dracula by Kathryne Ann Kingsley (good, but the ending felt rushed).
I just started Vanishing in the Haight by Colleen Hayes, it’s a slow starter but it’s getting really good, I was up until 11pm reading it.
My next book is Once Upon A Death (Days Of Death Series Book 1) by Dzintra Sullivan.
Later, when folks start heading to the beach, I’ll have fun people-watching from my living room window. Free entertainment, I’ll take it! Everyone have a lovely weekend!

Hope you feel better and enjoy the people watching. My brother can see Dolores Park from his balcony and likes to observe too. He complains mostly now b/c the park tends to be so overcrowded w/ drinking, etc. even w/ the supposed crop circles for social distancing. 😉

I will check out these book recommendations too.

Hi all, feeling better today, thanks for the well-wishes!

Wearing Fresh Cucumber Baie (now discontinued) for what will be a hot and humid day. My hair has tripled in volume.. We had unusual weather for the SF/Bay area, rain and thunderstorms last night – Smokey is terrified and won’t come out from under the bed…

People-watching yesterday was more than fun, we had a few wardrobe malfunctions, which was entertaining, we live on a hill and watched several skate boarders hot dogging it… A few teenagers had to be rescued off a cliff by the Coast Guard and Fire Department. All ended well but there were a LOT of sirens for several hours. Of course, no shortage of cute firefighters! So there’s that. 😀

I finished Vanishing in the Haight by Colleen Hayes, wow was it ever good! Complete enjoyment from beginning to end.

I was going to read Toni Morrison’s Beloved. While I loved it’s artistry and the power of the story, its nonlinear structure and graphic human and animal abuse to be too much. Perhaps someday…

Rose Madder by Stephan King became available from SFPL, I started that novel and was up until 2am, it’s a page-turner…
Without too many plot spoilers, for domestic violence survivors, there are triggers, FYI…

It will be a very small wedding, but we are still excited about it.

I’m in a dab of Vanille Insensee which is calming to me. Sleep hardly found me last night, and today I’m the paint gofer.

I did manage to make an apple cake though, which thunked a bottle of spiced rum and a bag of apples that were needing to be used, so I’ve gotten something done.

I’m sorry to whinge, but I really want to go to Target. Wander around, sniff the shower gels and fancy cleaning stuff, look at the colored pens, etc. I know I shouldn’t, so I won’t. I’ll feel better tomorrow. ?

Apple cake sounds yummy! I made one recently, called Sharlotka. It had a yummy, crunchy top, almost like a macaron.

I had the same urge a few days ago to go out and wander some aisles at Marshall’s. I resisted. I’m pretty sure that I did not really need anything there, anyway. Feel better, amiga!

I just went down the Sharlotka recipe rabbit hole. Yum! Will have to try that next baking day. Did you use a springform pan, and if so, did you line it? Those pans make me nervous.

Yeah, Marshall’s is a browsing mecca for me, too!

I did use a springform, but I bet you could just line any pan with parchment paper with some hanging over the edge, so that you could easily pull the cake out.

When everything was closed, I had an odd urge to go our local Dillards and wander around. Now I can, but I haven’t actually gone yet. But I have been to Target (minus the sniffing) – not that fun (but then I’m not a big Target person). Are there perhaps other stores that you would feel safer in than Target to get some of that urge out?

I wish there was a store I felt safe in. There are just no safe places. If they are enclosed, then they are a risk, IMHO.
But this too shall pass. It really will. I’m getting things done around here that sorely needed to be done, and I’m feeling good about that!

I’ll join in with the commenters who just want to wander around a store for a while. Until the weather just got too hot and humid, I scratched that itch by visiting a locally owned plant nursery and garden center, where I get a lot of the annuals for my garden. Most of the “retail space” is outside, with huge outdoor fans, it’s easy to stay several feet away from others, and everyone has to wear a mask, so I feel quite safe. It has been a nice way to get out of the house and do a little browsing! It can be dangerous to the wallet, though — I recently brought home a tree peony from one of those trips! Now I have to figure out where to fit it in when fall comes (fall is the best time to plant many things here in the South, because it cools off).

I have had a day with some drama. Early on when attempting to break up an incipient cat fight by sticking my leg in between two boisterous young boys, I got badly scratched. Ow! Then I was on my way to take stuff out to Mom’s when my best friend called sounding desperate and asking for help going to the ER. So I turned my car around and headed in the opposite direction and took her. She could barely walk and was shaking and I was scared. It’s not Covid because she has stayed in her house the entire time with no visitors, getting groceries delivered. That was three hours ago and I still have no word. I’m worried. They are not allowing any visitors in with patients due to Covid. Creepy. Well in the middle between those two dramas I showered and put on Vega because of Pyramus’s post above. It is not a super-potent scent on my skin and I can’t asses her interesting claims about its parentage because I don’t know one parent, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. It’s just a soft pleasant Guerlain-esque memory now. Which is good because I don’t need more drama.

Thanks everyone for your concern. My friend did get admitted and had a lot of tests and finally they let her go home after giving her IV fluids. There was nothing they found but her blood pressure was dangerously low. I went and picked her up and dropped her back at her home. She was definitely better but still said she had a piercing headache. It was scary. My cat scratches are all right today and I’m applying antibiotic spray regularly.

I had no idea it was National Relaxation Day! Mom told me first thing that it was National Lemon Meringue Pie Day today, and that she planned to celebrate that. 🙂 We were out and about this afternoon. We went to the Dollar Store, to the library, and to our usual grocery store. Lemon meringue pie was on sale at the grocery store. It really wasn’t a big grocery shopping trip otherwise, thank goodness.

I got creamsicles, to belatedly celebrate that day. Mom likes oranges as a fruit, but doesn’t like other foods with orange flavoring. Dad had a tooth extracted the other day, and is still recovering from that, so I told Mom that Dad would help me out with eating creamsicles. Dad said he was willing to do so. lol

Scent at the moment: C.O. Bigelow lemon body cream, from a trip to BBW last year. That Bigelow website is still very tempting. 😀 Last night, I found my bottle of Snowy Citrus Swirl lotion, so I went to bed smelling like a creamsicle. lol

I’m happy it was cooler here today, if still humid.

    Take care, folks!

Sampling Dryad this afternoon. What a beautiful perfume!

It was announced that we’ll be working from home until at least this time next year, with a hint that full time in the office won’t be happening again, ever. I think I’m happy but not quite sure. What a big change!

That is huge. Maybe you will have some flexibility, if the full-on home time does not work for you. Our office definitely split into two camps. Some loved the home work, got their home office going and never looked back. Others could not do it and kept up the same routine (this was not age-related BTW). I’m not sure anyone thought it was no big deal. The people with young children are the only ones right now who are floating between the two worlds, because of care issues. I think it’s hard on them!

Woke up with some of yesterday’s choice still Wafting ain’t just resprayed both (Orange Sanguine and Vanille Insensée) for a beach day today. We brought our camper and got here early and found a good shady parking spot. It’s nice because that way we can just walk back and forth to get snacks, let Nacho nap, etc. Perfect way to spend a Saturday! Also, it was 77 here today and 107 where I live, so there’s that too lol.

There’s a missing kid here now though so I’m worried about that. The mom is frantic and police are here. We’ve all been looking but no sign yet. Please send positive vibes and thoughts.

I’m a day late with this week’s CP, and enjoying my selection very much! I can’t wear Theorema, but its sibling Theorema Esprit d’Ete is so pretty on me.

Has NST ever done a “Sibling Rivalry” project where you name 2 perfumes that are scent siblings, and you can wear one but not the other?

SOTD is Eau Des Merveilles. I’m on the PNW coast and EDM is a nice match for being next to the ocean. We are very lucky to be enjoying mild and sunny weather.

Mr. Birdy and I adopted a very shy dog yesterday, and I’m hoping that he can embrace National Relaxation Day a bit more. He has a comfy out of the way spot to hang out and we’ve been checking in on him periodically and delivering treats, but he’s still quite on edge.

Aww, love adoption tales! Animals are very adaptive and I’m sure he’ll come around eventually.

The last adult dog I adopted, I used a crate as a safe place. I fed her in the crate twice a day, and she got special treats and toys when she was in there. I used a wire crate with a blanket draped over it because dogs are denning animals. Every time a thunderstorm rolled through, she made a beeline for the crate because it was her safe space.

Good luck with the new pupster! ?

Poor baby! When we adopted our Lucy, she was so timid that she wouldn’t come out of her crate for three days! I finally called a friend of mine who fosters many rescue dogs, and she came over, coaxed Lucy out, showed us how to encourage her, etc. We also used a lot of bacon as a special reward for socializing! Lucy is still somewhat timid but not with us; she’s very snuggly.

Good grief. There are traffic signals on that street that must be timed just right for speeding – amazing how the fast-and-furious manage to ferret those places out. ???

I was really busy yesterday and forgot to post yesterday. Spent the day cleaning and did a little grocery shopping. Still in Memoir body stuff and debating on if I should go the Coco Mademoiselle route or go with Cormandel. I ended up with 3 candles from the Bath and Body Works sale. I don’t get to the actual stores too often but I noticed that they sell out of stuff online way too quickly. I wanted to get the Honeycrisp Apple, Apple Weather and another one. When I got to the website, the apple ones were sold out and that was yesterday morning. Ended up with my 3rd choice. I don’t think that they don’t plan as well as they should with their sales for their website.

I don’t get to the store much either. I’ve never ordered from them. How much do you have to spend for free shipping? I normally would spend about twenty dollars in store.

Once in a while they have a free shipping code but it’s not like so many other online stores where you have to spend a certain amount before you get free shipping. If you spend about $10 or under you spend $9.99 for shipping. If you spend more than, $11 or $12, it’s $5.99. Highway robbery is what I say. I am really waiting for is Candle Day. It is supposed to be on December 5th and that is when Bath and Body Works has the best deals on 3 wick candles.

SOTD = Mohur Extrait – best Rose ever, although I do have POAL and Rose de Petra in rotation right now. When I wear this, adorable hubby is always extra snuggly. This morning after breakfast, I was fiddling with the oven, getting ready to make a ham cheese and broccoli quiche for quick lunches, and he was nuzzling my ear and explaining how much he loved me. 🙂 The simple joys of married life. The oven is heating up the house so I have the air conditioning going. Another simple luxury. Hope everyone can have some comfort and contentment in their day as it goes by!

Happy Sunday fragrant folks! I’m in NVC Trayee from a travel bottle, which is just perfect in every way- from the packaging to the scent.

After paddling Friday I went to the Folk Art Center here in the Blue Ridge Parkway to look for a gift for a friend. I hadn’t been there since I lived up here 20 years ago. It’s a total rabbit hole for me as it highlights local artisans working in every conceivable medium. I could live right smack dab in the middle of the store. So many lovely things! No Shirt, No Shoes, No Mask= No Entry! They were enforcing this as well, which I was happy to see.

    Stay well, all!

I would love to go to that place, it’s exactly the sort of thing I love! That’s partly what I enjoy when I go up to Michigan (usually) for my summer vacation–lots of the little waterside towns have fun little art centers and you can get some amazing buys: jewelry, weavings, paintings, woodcraft, glassware, ceramics, etc. I wish I could come and go shopping with you!

I uncovered some things in my search through sample bins on Friday and kept them out to re-experience. This morning I’m wearing ELDO Rossy de Palma, the bright red rose one with a lot of spice and other elements (pepper, ginger, benzoin, patchouli). It’s a fun and vivid scent, perhaps not best for summer wear but it feels kind of inspiring this morning. It’s also called Eau de Protection. Maybe that’s true!

Hi everyone. I did not know Relaxation Day was yesterday; I relaxed after work at a friend’s (smallish) dinner party at an outdoor mexican restaurant. It was a nice time. I really don’t do anything fun, especially these days, so I am glad I attended.
SOTD(s): Saturday I wore Blackbird Y06-5. I was not expecting what I thought was a lilac (??) note but have since looked it up and found it was actually banana. It was nice, a pretty spring-y-ish scent. Today wore Yearn, from a line of ‘mood fragrances’ from Victoria’s Secret, one of their nicer lines, IMO, and loooong since discontinued. A pretty gardenia. 🙂

Ugh, a jillion more flies in the house today!!!! Our old building is definitely not airtight so we can’t tell how they get in sometimes, but it was just too much for me this afternoon. I want fall now please ?

Finished my last class of ongoing ed for aerial coaching and have one homework assignment left, and then next month I’ll start a continuing education program at McGill (well, online atm) for executive production in creative industries.

It was nice catching up on everyone’s relaxation posts!

Currently put on some Angela Ciampagna Rosarium and lit my Boy Smells Hinoki Fantôme candle to promote post-fly-massacre calm.
