The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 3 July 2020 12 Comments

From L'Occitane, 'incredible recipe' verbena deodorant: "It’s a balm you won’t believe. Our first-ever deodorant balm is enriched with carefully-selected ingredients of natural origin that you can feel good about (and pronounce!). The perfect amount of each ensures efficacy in fighting against body odors while providing a sensation of comfort throughout the day. By neutralizing bad odors, our formula respects the natural phenomenon of perspiration without blocking it. Your pores are left unclogged, and your skin can breathe. Our balm is kind to your body, but tough when it counts." With applicator, $22 for 50g ($19.50 for just the tin, no brush).

Painting my pits with a brush every morning. Umm, no.

I find it pretty weird too. No, no!

Agree that a pit brush just doesn’t feel right to me. Why not just make a solid?

It is a solid balm, and they do sell it without the brush. They also have a video about it on the website, and they do not use the brush. (Although also, they only put it on the hand)

Thanks. I should have clarified that I meant a solid that can be applied by a swipe or two directly from the solid / packaging.

Reminds me of the old cream deodorants and early anti-perspirants advertised on the vintage What’s My Line shows. Stop-ette.

I have moved to deodorant only for much of the year but I don’t think I want a cream…

Side note: my scalp and forehead are my worst sweating areas in the summer humidity. (I kid you not…my hair looks like I just got out of a pool) I actually bought spray Dove antiperspirant to spray on the back of my neck one year to see if that would help. LOL. It didn’t.

It does not seem like a cream…I think “balm” seems accurate?

Yes…I realized that after I posted. So probably similar to what I use, which is more like a balm but a bit more solid.

I was thinking it was more a throwback to what my mom had.

Can’t you just use your fingers to swipe it on your pits..
    Hmm
I use a aluminum free deodorant from Nivea and I really like it
