The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 22 June 2020 5 Comments

Spendy, but I would take one if it fell in my lap: Chantecaille's Pure Rosewater in a limited edition travel spray. "Chantecaille icon Pure Rosewater draws on the uplifting, refreshing aromatherapy benefits of the rose to instantly revive the skin and spirit. Now in limited-edition rose-designed packaging, this portable aluminum collector's bottle is perfect for travel, or for everyday on-the-go use at work or at the gym. The potent formula contains 100% of the Rose de Mai, including the total extract of the petals and all its essential oils, which Sylvie first discovered in a field in Grasse, France nearly 20 years ago. Crafted in France with the highest quality pure botanicals." $59 for 75 ml.

And mine rosewater’s from Lebanon! It is in a ho-hum plastic spray bottle, but if I close my eyes I can pretend it’s coming out of a fancy French bottle…

I am going to assume it smells a bit better than “regular” rosewater, but yeah, not going to spend even half that on rosewater. Pretty bottle though!

I think I don’t understand what they’re saying, because “100% of the Rose de Mai, including the total extract of the petals and all its essential oils” is not what rosewater *is*.

Anyway, I will stick with my cheap and cheerful $3 rosewater from Walmart. It’s imported from Lebanon!
