Amouage Interlude Black Iris Man ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 22 June 2020 3 Comments

Amouage has launched Interlude Black Iris Man, a flanker to 2012's Interlude Man.

Interlude Black Iris Man is a spicy, woody Eau de Parfum created by perfumer Pierre Negrin at a concentration of 25% of fragrance oil.

Harmony resonates in the heart of Interlude Black Iris Man. Zesty Bergamot, Rosemary and Violet Leaves conjure perpetuating intervals of conflict which are countered by notes of Amber, Frankincense, Cistus and Myrrh. A layer of Orris Absolute and Vanilla smoothens the heart of the composition. Finally, notes of leather, Agarwood Smoke, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Cedarwood in the base add lasting depth and texture.

Crafted as an overpainting, Interlude Black Iris uses a refined palette to smoothen the facets of the original creation. A complex interplay of dark stoic serenity and buried vibrant power bursting upwards, into the light.

Amouage Interlude Black Iris Man is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Conjure perpetuating intervals of conflict? What absolute gibberish.

At these prices, they have to do more than just create contrast 😉

I sniffed this last week… didn’t like it nearly as much as the original. They did remove the objectionable huge oregano note, but also a lot of the incense & vanilla. Oh well, I’m not the target audience. I’m sure it’s perfectly nice on a man and a lot more office-friendly than the original.
