Tauer Perfumes Phtaloblue ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 June 2020 9 Comments

Tauer Perfumes has launched Phtaloblue, a "redefinition of the aquatic genre".

While everyone loves the sparkling brightness of an aquatic scent, it's hard to deny that the vast majority of them are all a bit... repetitive. So when we say Phtaloblue, with its distinct and invigorating blend of herbaceous and woody aquatic accords, is a breath of fresh air, please understand that we mean that in every possible sense.

[...] Phtaloblue explodes off the skin with a delightfully bracing burst of oceanic freshness, salt water mingled with vibrant citrus, but also a distinctive and captivating note of sweet, aromatic fennel that instantly imparts a warm, sensual dimension. It's the perfect opening for a scent that provides cool comfort and provocative originality on every level, as a floral heart balances the classic sophistication of orange blossom and lavender against a second, more herbaceous fennel and geranium chord that crackles with electric energy...

Additional notes include bergamot, lemon, gourmand amber accord, tonka bean and aquatic cedar.

Tauer Perfumes Phtaloblue is available now at Luckyscent, $135 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I don’t understand “aquatic cedar,” but I’d love to try this. It seems a bit out of the ordinary, and that’s definitely interesting.

I don’t understand anything. Google did tell me that ‘Phthalo’ refers to a blue dye, Phthalocyanine Blue BN.

I’ll try it but aquatic really isn’t my thing. He seems to be on a « fresh » bender.

Same…. I don’t expect to enjoy it, but I do want to try it.

Robin, Phthalo Blue is an intensely deep blue pigment. It was one of my favorite colors to use in Art class way way back in junior high when oil painting. Having said that, between ‘aquatic’, ‘fresh’, and ‘cedar’, this sounds like it would be a miss for me.
