The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 30 March 2020 4 Comments

The Oka Rose Fumée candle: "The English brand OKA has always had a passion for designing stunning homes, where nothing is too precious to be enjoyed... and could this be truer of anything more than a candle, made by Cire Trudon, the world’s oldest active candle manufacturer? [...] The heady, smoky scent of burning cedar, sandalwood and silver birch drifts up to the majestic stone balcony where the woman stands to observe the festivities. Amidst the clearing of lemon and orange trees far below, the crackling flames of the bonfire snake up to meet the twinkling indigo sky. As the people dance, the delicate, dewy petals of the morning’s freshly bloomed roses are long forgotten." £75 for 250g. You can read more about the collection here. Hat tip to David!

Sounds great! We have a town called Oka here in Québec too, famous for its cheese. 🙂

Cire Trudon usually have great quality so hopeful I’ll like these.

Have put the descriptions below for the other 3 as couldn’t see them on the blog link:

    Herbes de Montagne
Wander dreamily through the orchards of bergamot and citrus trees, then across fields of pepper vines, until you arrive at the foot of a mountain. Step carefully amongst the beautiful violet flowers until you finally reach the old cedar, which is said to hold the key to the mountain’s mysterious secrets.

    Ambre Brûlée
The morning mist and all that it conceals has slipped away. All is clear as the shimmering waves of heat dance across the ripe fruit of the orange and bergamot trees, beating down on the fragrant pepper vines that weave their way as far as the eye can see. They journey for miles across the glade, to find the shaded haven of cyclamen and patchouli, whose delicate flowers offer an enchanting retreat for the precious crystallised amber beneath.

    Claire de lune
Night is falling on the island. A darkness as rich and enticing as the lingering fragrance of patchouli that laces the air heavily cloaks the explorer. As she makes her way towards the beach, there is no sound but the gentle lapping of the waves and the barely audible crunch of vanilla pods cracking under her feet. She takes a seat and lingers upon her treasures: freshly fallen grapefruit and rare threads of saffron.
