Parfums de Nicolai Angelys Pear ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 28 January 2020 12 Comments

French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has launched Angelys Pear, a new fruity floral fragrance.

An Eau de Toilette paying tribute to the pear Angelys which refers to the city of Angers - in the Loire Valley - and the lys, the symbolic flower of French kings. Since then, the pear became the « fruit of the castles »

For Patricia, nature is an unlimited source of inspiration. There are so many flowers and fruits that can give nice perfumes and pear is one of them. Angelys Pear has a fresh and juicy pear note accentuated by a bouquet of rose and jasmine, highlighted by oakmoss.

With the beauty of light, the purity of air, and a calm, serene ambience, Angelys Pears perfectly illustrates the softness of France’s fabled Loire Valley. A sweet, fresh fragrance with an intense heart, and a lingering trail that reveals a pleasant hint of chypre.

Additional notes include bergamot, lemon, cut grass, blackcurrant, patchouli and musk.

Parfums de Nicolaï Angelys Pear is available now at Luckyscent, in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette ($52 / $157). A 250 ml bottle with 15 ml refillable spray is available directly from Parfums de Nicolaï.

I got an email about this yesterday and my first thought was that this might actually be a pear you like, Robin!

      Anything is possible!

I did like, but not adore, MDCI La Belle Hélène. The price point on this one is scads better.

Again oakmoss in the base. I think many of the Parfums de Nicolaï have oakmoss in the base which, to me, gives most of them a very recognisable Chypre kind of similarity, which frankly tires me out quickly. I’ll pass I guess ?

Leaves more oakmoss for me — although there’s never enough real oakmoss for me anymore since IFRA.

As one the few among us who likes pear notes (or at least will admit it 😉 ) I am thrilled to try pear in her capable hands (nose?)!

This sounds good. I’m going to add this to my sample list for Lucky Scent.

I’m not a huge pear person, but Fig-Tea is one of my favorite figs and so unlike others that I am wondering if it might be similarly interesting.

I love Fig tea ( my boyfriend too) and he actually was raised in Angers.
Just that puts it on the top of the to buy list!

I smelled it yesterday. Not bad. Nothing spectacular but a decent release, much better than the horrendous Baikal Leather. It kinda smells like a crossover between their Musc Intense and Cap Néroli.

I am wearing this today and finding it really beautiful. It’s complex, subtle, and unusual.

Some reviews say this is a spring scent but it reminds me more of the first days of summer, when summer is still fresh, breezy, and delicious, but it’s not really bound by any season.
