Went with Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods fragrance mist. Surprisingly good projection and longevity so far; this is one of their better scents in my opinion. Good thing, because I accidentally ordered 2 bottles last week by mistake….. 🙂
One of my coworkers wears that as her signature scent and it smells so good on her!!!
I bought a small bottle of the body spray of that one. It’s pretty! Have you tried Kaleidoscope? It’s interesting, in a vaguely rooty Iris kind of way.
I do have Kaleidoscope! Smells similar (but weaker) to Sunny Side Up. I like it, but it doesn’t last long on my skin…..
I liked Kalidiscope.
It seemed to be less sweet than most from BBW, which works for me.
I like it, bought the lotion to layer under iris scents.

I actually like Ombre Leather better than Tuscan Leather. You smell great.
I like them both, but Ombré Leather is an ‘easier wear’ to me.

This perfume makes me nostalgic, reminds me of my youth and one of my first perfume purchases.
I like it best sprayed on clothing, I feel it lasts longer
This small bottle was a generous gift from a NSTer a year or so back and I am now closing in on finishing it..
The herbs and the freshness are very calming, so I am on point with the CP

Love Cristalle, and have worn it since my teens (too far back for you to remember, no doubt!!) I usually wear it in the summer, but should try it out on these cold winter days. You smell fantastic

I think it’s discontinued, I’ve looked for it online a couple of times and can’t find it. It’s wonderful in the summer too, like wearing your own air conditioning.

I recently sampled a whole bunch of Etro thanks to the generous cauzabon. My favorite was Heliotrope but it didn’t last long on my scent devouring skin.

If you’ve ever tried it, does Memo Tiger’s Nest remind you of MdM? They smell very similar to my nose.

You inspired me to watch old movies! I came across Cross Cross in my TCM perusal, but ended up settling on The Women (Joan Crawford!). The all-female cast is something for 1939.
I watched that one over the weekend. Meoww, with cats like that for friends, who needs enemies! The sets and clothes were divine though and the scene at the perfume counter was a hoot.
The opening credits were pretty funny, too.
And those bottles of Summer Rain were pretty OTT, lol.

In other news, I decided to revive my long neglected Apple Watch 3 and OMG, the software update took over 3 hours. I also upgraded to iPhone OS 13.x and I need to explore new features and set them up accordingly.
Looking forward to tomorrow because it’s my Friday before 16 days of vacation – wahoo! I am on call though but it’s infinitely nice to not have to respond right away. It’s usually a quiet period anyway before year begin activities start in earnest.
I really wish that the original Pacificas were not discontinued…I miss this one and many others.

Me as well… I will never forgive them!!! Never!!! A good substitute for Spanish Amber, though a lot pricier, is Bastide Ambre Maquis Eau de toilette. What’s good is that they offer a small 10ml spray that’s affordable, plus there are other body products in the line, as well as candles and other ways to scent your home.

Not related to my job but at one of the holiday parties, talk turned to geese and how annoying they could be (and no, I don’t recall how we got into it). Anyway, this guy said that when he was with the CIA, they did blah blah blah to keep a check on the geese population. I asked if he meant Culinary Institute of Art and let’s just say his balloon quickly deflated. I don’t know about you but Inorobably would not have told anyone I worked for the CIA, retired or otherwise…
Forgive me for asking — way too nosy of me. When I hear “on call” I think, “This person deals with matters of life and death!” I have nothing but admiration for such work. You shall remain an International Woman of Mystery!
It was a fair question to ask. My job is way easier than the ones in the health professions. My on call really means my department is too cheap to hire enough people for full coverage but on the other hand, there are basically no issues with us being on vacation at the same time because we have to be attentive at all times and we cover for each other anyway.
Spanish Amber and Persian Rose are my favorites of the old Pacificas. I’m very happy I grabbed bottles of them when I did.

It reminds me a bit of Bottega Veneta, but a fresher, airier Version with some pink pepper. You can wear this in warmer weather. I nearly thunked my decant, but will Not Need more of it.
CDG Copper…from yesterday’s test at the posh shop. Galbanum to start, then fade to skin with a touch of spice and pepper. Nice bottle. I am in two minds about it and wonder if I like the idea of the perfume more than the perfume itself? I will try it again

It’s pouring rain here today with even heavier rain forecasted for tomorrow, so I’m staying inside. I bought new boots but I’m a little iffy about the fit so wearing them around the house will help me decide whether or not to keep them. I think I’ll make some cookies and soup, too, for a cozy smell. I’m sampling Cuir de Nacre, and not liking it too much. I like the iris, but there is also angelica and ambrette, not my favorite notes. The next Portland swap can expect to see my sample set.
What kind of soup did you make? We eat a pot of soup every week in the wintertime.
We are soup makers as well; it’s so cozy on a cold night! Plus you don’t have to think about what to make for dinner.

I’m in hajusuuri level amounts of sprays of Lubin Kismet, thanks to our fabulous flopper. Also used Andy’s amber body oil after my shower.
I usually clean the house a little at a time, 30 minutes or so every day, but it completely got away from me during hubster’s convalescence. We have company coming over the weekend, so it’s been nonstop housework today. It’s easier with 70’s rock blaring, though! ?

I’m in Zoologist Bee and honestly…. I don’t get it? I remember a bunch of reviews talking about how it was the most cheerful thing ever and I like it fine but it’s not interesting to me?
Maybe my skin is just eating all the heartnotes.
Haven’t tried Bee, but that has definitely happened to me with some perfumes people are raving about… rarely do I dislike them, but I have been underwhelmed. Figure it is my nose!
I thought it was nice too, but it is not going to dethrone my holy grail honey scent, Hiram Green Slowdive.
My Jacques Zolty Van-ile decant was calling my name, so I had no choice but to wear it. It starts out as an orange creamsicle herbal vanilla and then smooths out to herbal vanilla patchouli leather musk. I love it and wish I could find a bottle. I came into my decant just a little too late because it’s pretty impossible to find now.

Wearing Nishani Ani. I received a sample from Luckyscent and fell hard. A perfect perfume for a cold, Christmassy day. An array of different conifers, blended beautifully with bergamot and ends in a comforting vanilla. Crap description, but I didn’t pay close enough attention to the exact notes, I’ll update this review. Longevity is fair, but I am an over spritzer. So there’s that.
Overall impression: Big burst of joy and delight, forest creeps in and becomes more pronounced, falling into a blanket of cozy vanilla/cashmere.
Not the description on Luckyscent. Mileage may vary. ?

I reapplied yesterday and felt some Patchouli, like a touch, to structure the perfume. Then again, I probably sweat Patchouli. ?

I think it’s a rather well done celebrity scent. A brief description of it would be “soft vanilla suede”. And it’s not sticky sweet vanilla either. At least, that’s how it wears on me. YMMV.

I’m wearing Terry de Ginzburg Ombre Mercure. Not at all my usual thing but it somehow seduces me. Violet + iris, powdery and syrupy. You must be in just the right mood.

Yesterday I saw and enjoyed Richard Jewell, the new movie directed by Clint Eastwood. The main actor in it is amazing. It is not the political statement some people are interpreting it as (either pro or con). There are flaws but lots of good things including Kathy Bates and Sam Rockwell.
I think you smell wonderful and seasonal, Ombre Mercure reminds me of l’Heure Bleue and it was apparently Karl Lagerfeld’s scent.

On vacation since yesterday and I have been doing housekeeping and it’s close to midnight here in the UK. I picked YSL Paris Fleur de Parfum, a greater concentration. The violet is amped on that one with less rose, it suit me

Good evening! Scent at bedtime: Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater body lotion. I like it, but it’s strong. Scent when I woke the first time this morning: Diptyque Eau Rose. Very pretty, but not soothing to me at all this morning.
Wearing some of Andy’s Rose Delight oil and sprayed Kiehl’s musk on top. I think the Rose is winning right now.
I think I would like that combination. My folks would definitely not (lol), but it sounds nice to me. 🙂
Delicious body butter/lotion that goes perfectly with Amouage Reflection. Reviews for Reflection aren’t very positive, but I love it. The bad reviews mentioned a cucumber note. A sample later, it brings me back to Cucumber Melon from BBW.
