I love Vermont Country Store. They have such an odd mixture of stuff. Like old fashioned chenille bedspreads, Tangee orange lipstick, Teaberry gum, horribly overpriced ugly mummus, and odd little embrodieried nightgowns from Austria, apparently.
And an eclectic selection of perfumes – Tigress, Maja, Evening in Paris, and Arpege, and Joy… their catalogs are a hoot.
I like them too.
I spent many years wondering who bought those hideous mummus in that catalog. Then I visited my aunt down in Florida! Mummus were the Flordian Fashionista main choice of daywear. It was hilarious.
Personally I like their oilcloth tablecloths. Nice for the kitchen table and easy to clean. I’ve never bought any perfume, I’m suspicious as how old or where it’s coming from. I mean are some of those scents even still made? Customers from the Vermont Store aren’t keeping perfume houses in business.
Yes, I have bought some of that oilcloth in the retro aqua color with cherries ?. Good stuff!
Unsolicited advice: These talc free options for bath powder are great. I love them all times of year after a shower. The ones that come in boxes can be a little inconvenient. The powder is loose in a box, covered by a sheet of paper that is glued to the sides of the box.The boxes come with a applicator pad/puff that is soft and flat, and I think pretty useless. I have found that the easiest way to use these boxes of bath powder is to poke a hole in one corner of the paper seal where two sides of the box meet, about the size of an eraser head. Then I pour the powder onto my hand to apply it.

Oh my god, I LOVED Lemon Up shampoo when I was young! Sixth grade or so, I think. Wow, that was about a million years ago.

I bought Lemon Up with my babysitting money because my mom wouldn’t spend extra for it. Then I hid it so my brother wouldn’t use it.

I remember the Faberge shampoo (I don’t think I ever used the conditioner).
But does anyone remember Love’s Fresh Lemon cleanser and cologne, which started a whole lemon craze, including lemon Pledge? Soon to be followed by the green apple craze, which didn’t last as long.
Yup! I had Love’s Fresh Lemon as a young kid. Then I saw it at Walmart a few years ago, so I have a bottle on hand now. I don’t recall ever seeing the cleanser.
