More impartial

Posted by Robin on 31 May 2019 5 Comments

"I get the chance to see perfume formulas that I would never have thought of myself," says Apel. Because knowledge and experience often pose as limits to creativity: "I tend to prefer certain ingredients and want to make a very specific kind of scent," he admits.

Philyra is more impartial in her approach.

— Perfumer Dave Apel, talking about the artificial intelligence system Philyra (we have mentioned this before here and here). Read more at Artificial intelligence creates perfumes without being able to smell them at DW. (And Philyra's first fragrances have just launched: O Boticário Egeo On Me and Egeo On You; the text is in Portuguese.)

I have to say that i was surprised with the masculine one. I expected it to be aquatic and the cucumber to stand out, but while it was made to please it’s risky too. It’s not common to see a brand targeting a male young audience with a fragrance that has a very noticeable fenugreek aroma.
The feminine didn’t surprise me, but i have a sample so i’ll test it carefully.

    Translating to english:

    Egeo On Me

Egeo understands that being young is experiencing different worlds at all times. Therefore, it created the first fragrance of the world with artificial intelligence, the Egeo On Me EDT (note: Deo Cologne is technical name for EDT to reduce the tax margins). ON is being at the same time aware of this digital world and within it. ON is to be connected, alive and moving!

The fragrance brings a fruity floriental fragrance that opens with notes of melon, peach, pineapple, anise, orange blossom, bergamot, lemon, apple, cucumber, pepper and almond blossom, which evolve into a heart with jasmine, freesia, passion flower accord, green leaves, white rose, raspberry, acacia, tuberose and prunella, and complete with vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, musk, amber and toffee base notes.

Egeo on You: the first paragraph is the same, so i’ll skip and go to the second paragraph:

“The fragrance brings a woody fougere amber that opens with notes of melon, peach, pineapple, bergamot, mint, cardamom and eucalyptus, which evolve into a heart with sage, galbanum, lavender, green leaves, fenugreek and woody notes, ending with basenotes of sandalwood, vetiver, musk, benzoin, amber and condensed milk.”
