Robert Piguet Atomica ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 24 May 2019 9 Comments

Robert Piguet has launched Atomica, a new fragrance.

The late Switzerland-born couturier Robert Piguet introduced his first perfume in the early 40s, and since then, his eponymous French house has re-emerged as a luxury perfumery. Classic aromas are formulated in a modern way to create provocative outcomes like this Atomica eau de parfum. Invigorating your senses, this mystic scent is offset with explosive notes of elemi oil and ginger, which are mixed with spicy, exotic accords and based with musky amber.

Additional notes include cypriol, olibanum, vetiver, cedar and incense.

Robert Piguet Atomica is available now at Selfridges in the UK, £175 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Well, my first thought was, “They stole Bandit’s chrome-yellow label edge!” I suppose Bandit can handle it, though.

Weird name, but the notes sound good.

The notes do sound good. The name sounds like it should be some single molecule techno-scent.

Yeah, their descriptor “mystic” doesn’t really work with the name but “explosive” does, IMO.

One of those names that immediately makes me marvel that nobody has used it before.

Indeed! But I guess there are still so many unused cool words…the industry is busy with adding adjectives (flankers) to their already established perfumes.
I would like to see a perfume name “Splitting the Atom” (song by Massive Attack).

At first glance my brain read “Aromica” which I think I like more.
