Maison Francis Kurkdjian L’eau A la Rose ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 13 May 2019 2 Comments

Maison Francis Kurkdjian has launched L’eau À la Rose, a new fragrance for women. L’eau À la Rose is a flanker to 2015's À la Rose, and is currently exclusive to the Asia Pacific region.

Queen of flowers since the dawn of time, the rose flower inspires those with the art of creativity. Poets, painters, musicians… and perfumers alike! They have all sought to capture its aura, its magic and its secrets.

Inspired by the story of a painting of Queen Marie Antoinette holding a Centifolia rose in her hand signed Elisabeth Vigée Le Brun, her official portraitist, Francis Kurkdjian created in 2014 a same name eau de parfum: À la rose.

[...] In 2019, Francis Kurkdjian has imagined a new emotion with the creation of the Eau de toilette variation. Like the caress of rose petals gathered at daybreak, l’eau À la rose unfolds on the skin with a delicate floral freshness. A drop of perfumed water reflecting a bouquet of four hundred freshly bloomed roses.

[...] To compose L’eau À la rose, a fruity floral eau de toilette, Francis Kurkdjian has chosen two sorts of roses from two origins. Damascena rose oil from Bulgaria offers its fruity note, slightly spicy and fruity (pear and lychee) for a blooming top note. On the base note, centifolia rose absolute from Grasse gives its generous rosy floral note, a petalled effect with slightly honeyed facet.

Additional notes include musks.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian L’eau À la Rose is available in 35 and 70 ml Eau de Toilette, and in three x 11 ml travel sprays, and in matching bath and body products.

I’d like to try a sample of that when it gets to the U.S. The description of the scent is appealing to me.

The deer are eating the buds off my Old Garden Roses, as I’ve probably mentioned before. Hopefully I’ll still have some Damask and Alba rose flowers to enjoy in a couple of weeks. I think birds are nesting in the midst of my ‘Ispahan’ rose. (The rose bush is about 8′ tall x 6′ wide) I get a lot of scolding chirping when I go near it. (lol)

‘Fantin-Latour’ isn’t the Centifolia rose of Grasse, but it’s still very nice. It’s beautiful and has a very pleasant fragrance. That’s the only Centifolia rose I currently have.

Good luck — hope they leave a few blooms!
