Friday scent of the day 4/19

Posted by Robin on 19 April 2019 335 Comments

Happy Twice as Nice Friday! (It's also Dutch-American Friendship Day and Bicycle Day.) Our community project for today: wear a fragrance that you've purchased more than once (a scent that you used up and bought again, or a scent for which you've already got a backup bottle). If you don't have such a fragrance, wear the scent you'd be most likely to rebuy. Thanks go to thegoddessrena for the idea!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I'm in Hermès Osmanthe Yunnan. I said when I reviewed it that I did not need 100 ml of anything and wished I'd waited for the 15 ml sizes to go on sale, but as it turned out, that 100 ml bottle disappeared faster than any other perfume I've ever bought. It helps that it is light, and short lived, and that I adore the top notes. Anyway, it's been replaced with a 15 ml.

Reminder: on 4/26 we're doing edition 4 of the picture challenge, part 1. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Georgia O'Keeffe's My Shanty. You can read more about the painting here and here. There is a short bit on her time at Lake George here. (This is part 1 because we are going to do another O'Keeffe later in the year.)

And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

    Robin, you smell great!

I’m going commando today because I’m flying, but I would have worn Wood Sage and Sea Salt if I’d had it with me. I can’t wait to read everyone’s choices today!

For once I am participating in the CP!

I took out from storage Guerlain L’instant especially for today – I normally wait until the temps are in the 60s to wear this because it really blooms in the warmth.

This is by far my favorite Guerlain. I find it incredibly easy to wear and versatile as both daytime and nighttime appropriate.

My 30 ml bottle is about 70 percent drained so I ordered another one on discount last night because I am worried that the old bottle will become scarce. I really really dislike the bee bottle aesthetic and find the original bottle profile so darn cute and elegant at once. Which about sums up how I feel this scent is in general.

The original L’Instant bottle really was gorgeous, and the L’Homme bottle was pretty much the perfect example of the men’s and women’s bottles being obviously related while retaining their own individuality.

One of my birthday purchases on the discount site was L’Instant (I went with the bee bottle!). It really is a gorgeous scent. Now I’ll have to try it when it really warms up again!

I am in my most re-purchased perfume – Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil. I lost count of all the bottles and decants I purchased. From 7.5 travel spray to 50 ml full bottle. Currently finishing a 20 ml decant, but I have a back-up bottle – 30/100 partial.

In wore this quite a bit and eventually got tired of it and gave it away. Also, someone who took the same train I did wore it at nuclear levels which didn’t help.

I took some breaks from Un Jardin sur le Nil, but I keep coming back to it.

Yeah…. I know that sometimes smelling too much of a scent on other people just ruins it for you. This winter I kept getting massive amounts (or at least it felt like massive amounts) of Montale/Mancera oud scents from someone (maybe even from different people). As a result, I have already given away my decant of Black Aoud and am going to give away the decant of Aoud Cafe.

I chose my old friend Gucci EDP (the dark juice in the heavy clear bottle) for the CP. I’m on my third (small) FB, but have actually purchased a fourth – one of the men I work with was so taken with the scent that I gave him a small bottle I’d ordered to give to his wife, and ordered a replacement for myself. One of these days it’s going to become difficult to find, and at that point I’ll be very sad.

Is this the square bottle (glass looks dark, too?) with fruity opening, patchy base? I get really confused by all the Guccis.

No, this is the orange-blossom-with-cumin (and other dark spices) fragrance in the very heavy but clear glass bottle. Annoying of Gucci to name so many things with the same name. 🙂

        The same?
I got a bottle of Omnia from the swap and it rekindled all these memories and I am sorry that Omnia and I divorced many years ago because I am shocked that it’s discontinued. I stopped wearing it when all my friends around me fell in love with it and started wearing it also. I am glad we are re-united

In May of 2010 I was in Paris (for one day!) and of course made a pilgrimage to the Palais Royale, where I bought bell jars of Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque and Fourreau Noir, which of course I hardly ever wore because I was afraid of contaminating them (I put some into travel sprays, once, but never refilled them for no good reason).

A few years later in Montréal, when I was in the bad habit of buying one Lutens at Ogilvy every time I visited, I bought Fourreau Noir *again*, this time the Vapo Tout Noir: my reasoning was that I would use up one of the 30-mL sprays and refill it from the bell jar, although of course I was just using that as an excuse to buy my annual Lutens.

That didn’t exactly happen, as I’m nowhere near the bottom of the first of the sprays, but the bell jar is still in perfect condition and thanks to the spray I wear Fourreau Noir a fair bit, because that combination of lavender and black licorice is irresistible. Today is a grim steely sort of day — it’s going to rain thoughout the entire long weekend! — and FN is a perfect fit.

I am wearing Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee. I first tried this scent from a small sample and was instantly smitten . Then I purchased a large decant, which I promptly used. Now I am the happy owner of two bottles of Nuit Etoilee. One is the rounded bottle with gold cap which is half full. My second bottle is newly purchased and is the square shaped bottle with tall gold cap.

Ohhhh, I adore Jour Ensolleile, one of my favorites from Sonoma Scent Studio. That perfume reminds me of my first year in California. I spent a lot of time in Sonoma and Calistoga at a friend’s house surrounded by horses, walnut trees and the gorgeous rolling hills.

Jour Ensolleile (for me) perfectly captures Northern CA in the fall. Simply gorgeous.

Today I’m in B*Men, totally messing up the week’s poll! I’m using my only bottle, which I blind bought! It’s really lovely though a bit quiet.

If I wasn’t going through my collection for a different perfume each day, I would have picked my most-backed-up perfume, Byzance. I have 2x 100ml EdT, 1x 100ml EdP, and 1x 50ml. May seem nuts but I’ve spent less of those for bottles than one lists for on eBay! Doesn’t hurt that I totally love it and wear it to bed a lot.

I am back in Grandiflora Queen of the Night today because I don’t have very many options with me here in the rehab center. But I’m hoping to go home next Monday! Today we are moving Mom over into the assisted living side of this place where she’ll have a nice, newly refurbished room on the 2nd floor with a lovely garden view. I hope this transition will go as smoothly as possible for her in her present confused state.

Were I at home, I’d be wearing Mitsouko, one of the few perfumes for which I’ve bought a back-up bottle, because, well, it’s Mitsouko, of course!

Good morning, and Happy FriYAY per my usual weekend greeting! 🙂

The ONLY backup I have of any fragrance is my beloved Clinique Aromatics Elixir, but unfortunately it is NOT approved at the office. It reminds the Perfume Grinch of his 8th grade algebra teacher, which is not a good memory for reasons he hasn’t elaborated on….LOL

Soooooo, in the spirit of the challenge, I decided to go with a perfume house that I always go back to again and again. I’m wearing Sarah Jessica Parker Stash Unspoken. I tend to enjoy just about any scent that SJP offers. Stash Unspoken is a softer version of the original Stash (that I also love). Good stuff! The only exception to my SJP rule is her NYC scent….the strawberry note goes wonky on my skin! 🙂

Osmanthe Yunnan is wonderful and I can imagine it going quickly – that’s one of the few I think I could spray 10 times!

I had a few plans for the CP but I ended up only sideways-participating. Here’s what happened. I was going to either wear Omnia (of which I bought several BUBs in my early days of perfuming, when it was discontinued and I didn’t realize how slowly I use perfume) or Cabochard (which I have tons of but can never resist rescuing the cheap ones that sometimes turn up at estate sales.)

But then I started thinking about how I have literally NEVER used up an entire bottle of perfume, not even the 100ml of M&B Green green green and green which I’ve had for maybe 15 years and which was one of my first ever perfume purchases and which I wore multiple sprays of every day for a year or two. And then I realized I had to wear that today. It is down to maybe 2 ml now so there’s some hope that I will use it up! And based on how much I am enjoying it today I will indeed have to replace it (it also garnered the rare husband compliment).

But mostly this week has reinforced my belief that it’s foolish of me ever to buy more than 10 ml of anything!

You know, I’m not normally into thunking as a goal – I like having a collection! – but since I have vague plans to move overseas in a year or two it has become more appealing. Some serious winnowing will be necessary.

I am wearing Alien leather version. My most purchased perfume. I do not have any back up bottles, but currently have 8 variations of Alien. I started collecting/hoarding them after I missed out on getting the Saphir version and am still kicking myself for talking myself out of it. It was a beautiful orange version of Alien. I do wear all of the one’s I have . My favorites depend on my mood, but the leather one is a constant love.

My top 3 that I have are, Parfum de Cuir, Taste of Fragrance, which is a carmely alien, and eau Sublime, which is a sunny lemony version. I love the Absolute, but that could almost be a stand alone perfume, imo. Of course, I still love the original.

I think there is probably about twenty. I don’t want to have them all, just the ones I really like. The Flora Futura and extrodinaire were big nos for me. I had sunessence, but gifted it to a dear friend who loved it more than me. Some, I’ve never been able try.

I went with Opardu because I’ve continually repurchased decants or travel sprays. Whatever I can find. I only have a few backup bottles and they are mostly winter scents. My only other contender is Equistrius. It was on sale at Min NY and they sent me two 50 ml bottles. (I only paid for one) I did email them to correct the mistake but they never responded. Since it wasn’t a deliberate repurchase so it didn’t qualify for the cp.

Opardu is a beauty but I imagine my decant will last me a while (if it doesn’t evaporate!) because I dab it.

After about a 15 year hiatus, for memory’s sake I bought a second-hand bottle off eBay a couple of years ago of my 90s power suit accompaniment–Escada’s Margaretha Ley. So technically this must be my third or fourth bottle. I hardly ever wear this final purchase, but I give it a sniff now and then to take me down memory lane– or from 75th up to 89th along B’way in Manhattan (or from Citarella’s to Zabars, and then on up to our old 5th floor walk-up on 89th (reportedly a few doors down from the former home of Typhoid Mary).

So that is what I am wearing today, Margaretha Ley in all its 90s glory.

I knew that area extraordinaryly well as my old dance studio was on 80th and Broadway across from Zabars….I spent much of my childhood and teenager years there. There was also a bagel ship below the dance studio and a deli that sold Tigers Balm which was much needed for our sore muscles.
I also remember the Escada as I had a bottle of that one myself.

Thank you for that link!!! What a shame that it closed. Definitely the best bagels around. And my dance studio was literally above the bagel shop!! There was also a Fayva Shoe store across the street on the other side of Broadway that I used to love popping into… I know that company has also gone out of business.

I’m not participating today – I’m in a spray of Apres La Mousson (from a fun swapmeet swap) and a spritz of Voyage– an unintentional mixture, however, I think they go well together.

I don’t really do back-up bottles, but was a bit surprised to find that I have more Reglisse Noire than I remembered – a 50 ml bottle plus several small bottles. I’m pleased to be supporting an indie perfumer and it is in my top 10, but I wouldn’t say it’s number 1 (that spot seems continually in flux). If a fire destroyed my fragrances, what would I rebuy? This requires some serious thought. : D

    Chanel 19.

Backstory: A 1/3 full bottle of Hanae Mori Butterfly stood neglected and alone atop my vanity for the last, oh, nearly two decades? Then two months ago I wandered into an Atelier Cologne boutique, came away with a sample, and was Infected.

FFW to now: so many samples they’re logged in a spreadsheet, I refuse to tally my purchases, and I now have a Fragrance category in my Feedly. (Is there a cure? Do I want one?)

Way back in 1990, though, my 15 year old self had these: Chanel 19, Shalimar, Samsara and LouLou.

So back to the 19. Since the Infection I’ve accumulated, all vintage: 2 bottles EDT, 1 bottle EDC, 2 bottles parfum. Are they still good? I… think so? My scent menory isn’t perfect… nor is my nose very advanced… The newer bottle and color just don’t match my memories.

I’ve recently fallen hard for Jicky, the current EDP. I’d smelled it before but found it heavy and powdery, smothering. Not sure what concentration I was smelling. Somehow that dense powdery texture doesn’t bother me in the current EDP. It’s an energetic, happy fragrance, cheerfully unisex, and the way im blowing through my current bottle, I reckon a repurchase will be on the cards. It helps that it can be sprayed lavishly.

Well, ok. In the early 80s, I was living in Houston and waitressing at a steak house. One day I stopped in at Foley’s department store (RIP) to look at shoes and there was a display for Chanel’s new fragrance, Coco. I loved it instantly – I was already familiar with No. 19 and No. 5 – but since I was living alone far from home, I definitely couldn’t afford a new bottle of Chanel perfume. Not too long afterwards, I waited on a table of guys in the oil industry who were regulars where I worked, it was someone’s birthday and they came in for a boozy lunch and left me a hundred dollar tip. As soon as my shift was over, I drove straight to Foley’s and bought my bottle of Coco! That night, I went to a party at a friend’s house and met my husband. Corny as it sounds, our eyes really did meet across a crowded room and after we introduced ourselves, the first thing he did was compliment my perfume. It was love at first sight, for Coco and for each other. We married shortly afterwards and have been married thirty-five years this year…..never underestimate the power of perfume 😉

Hello from the beach at Scheveningen, where I have polished off a glass of Greek white wine and a dish of garlic-infused olives. A 2nd glass is on its way. :^)

Back in the day I had 7 perfumes I wore in rotation and replaced as needed – mostly Hugo Boss, plus Czech & Speake 88, JPG “Le Male” and Davidoff Cool Water. Then I discovered proper perfumes. :^D

SOTD is Amouage “Interlude Man”, the last of a sample from De Bijnkorf in The Hague, and a perfume I have had several decants and samples of over the years. I would have worn it last Friday as my platonic ideal, had I been well enough. From the initial burst of juicy lime to the hours of incense ash, this perfume makes me feel more myself and I love it.

Wow… you are bringing back memories for me. When I was 10/11, we lived in The Hague. So, I remember going to Scheveningen, and I also remember shopping at De Bijnkorf. In fact, I still remember the collapsible umbrella I bought there, which I had through college until it was destroyed one very windy, rainy day in Sausalito, CA. Enjoy your day!

The De Bijnkorf building is really something, full on state-of-the-art modernity from the year 1926. I loved the panelled staircases with the jewel-coloured stained glass panels. The panel from the menswear floor has a sports theme, polo, tennis, fast cars 1926-style… amazing :^)

When the weather is good, the beach is wonderful, it is so wide and long. It’s actually a better beach than my beloved Malaga, but of course in Malaga we can use the beach almost every day. The beach clubs in Scheveningen are all open from this weekend, so I expect to enjoy a few sunset wines between now and the end of June.

Every so often I go on ebay and see if there’s an affordable bottle of Haie Fleurie du Hameau. I think I have now rescued 5 bottles which, given the size of my collection and the fact that I’m a light spritzer, means that I have enough for the next 40 years.

Was thinking about what a nice set of livable perfumes I have if I only count what I’ve bought more than once–Milk of Flowers, Haie Fleurie, Terracotta Le Parfum, Indigo Vanille, Safran Troublant, Sideris, Amun Re:The Tears of Ra, Carpathian Oud, Inoui, Gardenia Batik, White Shoulders, Rosa Sur Reuse, Sacrebleu, and Santal Exotique

I remember buying bottles of this at Marshall’s for $14.99 each. Now you’re lucky if you can find one on ebay for under $100!

My current bottle is a vintage splash EDT in the original box. Doubt I’ll ever find another! And I refuse to try the reformulated version…

I’m wearing PdN Neroli Intense which I bought in Feb and only have about 3ml remaining, but I have a backup waiting in the wings.
The only other backup I have is Idylle Love Blossom which maybe was premature since I haven’t worn it as much this year- the 10 or so ml left will probably take me a year to finish. But it was inexpensive and is discontinued, so no huge regrets.
I think the only bottle I’ve ever finished in my life was Hanae Mori (butterfly) in the 90s, but I didn’t replace it. I bought Hanae M Magical Moon instead which I ended up giving away at some point. I kind of wish I’d kept it- it was a great cobalt glass bottle!

I haven’t been down this rabbit hole long enough (only 5 years or so) to have needed to repurchase anything; and I’ve been diligently evicting my BUBs once I realized how seldom I re-wear a scent in a year; so I’m down to only a few duplicates (I think; I could be wrong about that… #toomuchperfume) Anyway, I think my only current BUBs are Armani Prive Bois d’Encens, VCA California Reverie, DK Black Cashmere, and Dior Bois d’Argent. Which I do not intend to evict as all of these are consistently in my personal top 10. Well I may evict one of the Bois d’Argent bottles since my BUB is the 250ml size (WHAT WAS I THINKING??? oh right, fear-of-reformulation panic. sigh.)

But I’m not wearing any of those, because I had a hankering for AG Le Chevrefeuille. Mmmm, honeysuckle!

My re-purchasing days are mostly in the past: there were several perfumes that I repeatedly bought and finished, but now I have too many perfumes to finish any of them. I do have several long-time favorites for which I have a BU bottle or which are my N-th bottle of that perfume, but most of them do not fit my mood today. But I found one!

Miss Dior parfum (original, vintage): in one form or other it has been in my life from my early childhood, and I still love and wear it. And keep a grudge against Dior for stealing its name.

That’s the only vintage scent I love! I discovered Miss Dior parfum in my very early perfume rabbit hole days, and when I found a scent called Miss Dior at a perfume shop, I was so excited. I sniffed it and was HORRIFIED. Where was that furry chypre? What were all these light, powdery flowers doing there??? Anyway then I learned about the name changes and such, and got annoyed at Dior for the name theft, and now I have a little bottle of the vintage parfum that I adore and should wear more.

I think you are probably right! I have never smelled your beloved vintage Ivoire 🙂 I have not smelled vintage much, but most vintage perfumes I HAVE smelled seem to contain vintage-ade, a kind of musty oakmoss chypre something that gives me a headache and confounds the other notes. I don’t know why IFRA banned the use of oakmoss and such, but if it’s because they were giving people headaches, I bet I am a beneficiary of the IFRA-induced shifts 🙂

Wow, Baoshan looks gorgeous. I’d like to be there and not here. My head is discombobulated with stress. Maybe I should close some tabs.

I smell great in Safran Troublant. This is another of those scents where I keep replacing decants and really just need to suck it up and get a bottle (whereupon I’ll stop wearing it and start favoring my other decants >.<). Well, I gave myself about six sprays three hours ago, and it's nearly disappeared already. So. I may need a booster spray of something else later.

Question for swimmers/people who spend a lot of time outdoors: What do you do about your faces?! I've started swimming outdoors a bit again, now that the weather is warming up, and in the past week, my skin has darkened about a dozen shades. That's fine, but my face HURTS after swimming! The skin feels damaged. This is after full-body sunscreen (Aveeno face sunscreen SPF 50, Neutrogena body sunscreen SPF, eh, 70? 100?). What do I do about my face??

Could there be two things going on – Chlorine making your face hurt and maybe the sunscreen isn’t waterproof enough? I think that might be more important than the SPF. Hope you’ll figure it out!

Thanks! In theory it should be water resistant for 80 min (and I swim for ~45 min). Any tips on how to make my skin more chlorine-resistant? I assumed it was some combination of sun damage + chlorine/salt making my skin hurt, but don’t know how to solve the problem 🙁

        • Elisa P says:
          19 April 2019 at 3:22 pm

I actually think it might be the combo of SPF chemicals and waterproofing chemicals interacting with the pool chemicals. I’ve had that happen. In any event, I use straight up zinc oxide on my face if I go swimming or to the beach. It stays on pretty well and no burn. I also have hyperpigmentation which is my main motivation for using it (and I’m over caring about the spooky white face).

Since I live in CA, my complex has a (nearly full-length! 23 yard!) pool. I definitely wouldn’t have the courage to go swimming at 5am >.< No gyms with pools nearby? It’s micronized zinc, so finer particles.
A friend posted a photo of herself at the beach last year wearing a “face-kini” ? It’s basically a ski mask made out of some thin UV blocking material. I’d rather do the white paint, lol.

Koyel, when I worked at a water park one summer ages ago, all the lifeguards used a sunscreen called Bullfrog. It was ridiculously tenacious. I never used it personally, though. What I have used a couple of times when I have been at the Jersey Shore is Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 50+. I can’t sweat that stuff off! The downside to it is the dreaded whitish cast to my face, but vigorously rubbing it in seems to minimize that.

Bois des Iles vintage edc – it sort of works, because I also have a little decant of the extrait (swoon!!) and I have a decant of the edp coming any day now in the mail. I think this vintage is past its prime – it’s nice, but feels more like a ghost version Chanel 5, and doesn’t much resemble the extrait at all. Unless that’s what it’s supposed to smell like? We’ll see how the edp compares.

I spotted a new version and purchased it, but then awhile later I got an ebay deal with 2 vintage bottles. So I’m covered for 10 lifetimes (or more) even if I wear it daily.

They are edt, not the esprit. One bottle is marked 30, avenue Hoche. So research shows that to be pre-1990?

I also still have my little green purse atomizer with a refillable purple light cologne insert.

    Sotd: Shiseido Feminite du Bois!!!
Words can never express my love for the original version of FdB! My backup is a partial bottle. With sparing use, both bottles should get me through my lifetime. ? I also have a bottle of the Luten’s version for more abundant spaying. It is not as deep and woody as the Shiseido, but such is life.

Very envious of your original FDB find! By the time I fell in love with perfumes, the Shiseido version had become rare enough that all you can find are eBay partial bottles for $300+. I’ve never smelled the original, but I do really love the newer Lutens version (pre recent reformulations, let’s say ca. 2017). One person who had sniffed both told me she prefers the newer version, and that is what I cling to in my Shieseido-less world.

    SotD = Terracotta Le Parfum

Terracotta is the only full bottle of perfume I have bought more than once. I still have more than half my first bottle, the second bottle has never been out of the box.

Lesson learned, I don’t need back up bottles of anything other than cologne. I still daydream about having a couple BIG bottles of Chanel Eau de Cologne. And maybe back ups of the Hermessence scents, I’ve made big dents in the few 15 ml bottles I have of those.

Robin, you smell fantastic, the top notes in Osmanthe Yunnan are heavenly. I also love Iris Ukiyoe and Vanille Galante. Oh! I just remembered I do have two 15 ml bottles of VG. 😀

Yay for Dutch-American Friendship Day! My great-grandmother Angelina was born in Arnhem, lived most of her life in the US, and loved both countries very deeply.

I think the Netherlands was one of the first (maybe the first?) country to formally open diplomatic relations with the newly formed United States of America over 200 years ago.

Anyhoo, happy Friday NSTers, I hope your day is fragrant and delightful.

When the tiny purple flowers begin to bloom wherever they’ve planted themselves in my garden, it’s time for me to enjoy their fragrance in Guerlain’s charming scent, the original (2000) Meteorites, my SOTD for today’s cp. One of my favorite spring fragrances, I opened my BUB last year, surprised that even though I only wear it in spring, I had already used up an entire bottle, very unusual for me.

Later, I’ll be adding more depth with another springtime favorite, Worth Je Reviens in vintage perfume form from the tiny flat bottle sheathed in suede I’ve treasured for many years. An early perfume love of mine, I have several vintage versions. Although much more complex, it’s the fragrance that initiated my love of violet as a scent note.

Wishing everyone a blessed Passover and Easter and Spring weekend!

I completely forgot about the CP… oh well. It would be Le Temps d’Une Fete if I had remembered. Countless bottles purchased over the years, because it was all I wore for a time. I did thunk a small bottle of Stella last summer and have a BUB, but that’s really as a no-brained scent when I’m in the mood for rose.

In any case, I’m in Jasmins Marzipane.

Hi there! I think you said earlier this week that you had missed out on hearing what had happened to Spooky kitty. Short version of the story: a routine vet visit showed that she had lost over a pound since last year. She also had some GI issues. Probably irritable bowel, according to the vet. So now she is on prescription wet food and an antibiotic. And is doing much better!

If I were participating in the cp, I’d be in Obsession. But since a sample of Narciso Pure Musc arrived yesterday, that’s what I’m in. On my skin it’s more about soft florals than musk. It’s reminding me of something that I can’t quite put my finger on….Pretty, but it’s no match for White Cube?.

Scent-free so far on this Easter Saturday morning, but later I will probably go with No 5 EDT, which I’ve just repurchased. The first bottle took 11 years to drain, but I got there., tough though it was. 🙂 Very proud of my new bottle.

I’ve repurchased No 19 EDT many times but I don’t like the newest version so much. Seems too heavy on the vetiver to me. It has lost the gauzy iris accord I once loved.

Like others I’m wary of acquiring too many BUBs, but if I get to the bottom of my two favourite Merveilles, L’Ambre and the original, I will certainly repurchase them.

Ooh, I like your list. Chergui (FB), Indochine and Shanghai Lily (decants) are in my wardrobe too.

Late to comment today, but I am wearing Vivid. I had a bottle of this in the 1990s, and it was one of two signature scents–at the time I had only this, one Jasmine perfume, and a 5mL of Poison. Anyway, I eventually finished the bottle. I was not going to repurchase (had fallen down the rabbit hole by the time I’d thunked the bottle), but then I found a tiny 2mL decant at a rummage sale…Anyone sensing a theme here? That was the perfect amount I’was willing to re-purchase, just to have something to wear very rarely and sniff on occasion to remember the past.

I wore Vivid when it first came out, went through a full bottle. It was so very pretty. Nice bottle too.

EL Sensuous. It’s chilly, grey, and drizzly here today, and something warm feels like a good choice.

Tried a sample of Kyoto earlier this evening — thank you, Millicent! I like it quite a bit. For an inexpensive fragrance I’d get again, Yardley London English Rose EdT. I’m still mostly in the trying samples phase, but I got a backup sample of Passage d’Enfer. (lol) Sometime I’ll get a backup sample of Tokyo Spring Blossom.

I didn’t wear a twice as nice fragrance today, I wore Crepuscule descAmes instead so I could finish my review of it. But if I had worn a repeat perfume, it would have been Ostara or Jo Malone’s Blue Hyacinth. Just got a backup bottle of each!
